A legislative committee met to iron out a remedy to the Wayfair Decision. That Supreme Court ruling could require New Hampshire businesses to collect and remit taxes for other states. No one, regardless of party, seems to want that at least and until New Hampshire Democrats find a way to institute a tax they could then try to make other state’s collect.
We’re not there yet and hopefully never will be, but that’s not even why I’m writing this.
This is everything you need to know: As Skip and Steve so insightfully told us, they both lead to the same ugly, painful result, taking only slightly different paths.
The State Supreme Court has ruled (in its analysis of HB1264, which the governor then signed yesterday) that out-of-state college students do not have more rights than actual citizens of New Hampshire. They are not entitled to a special exclusion from the responsibilities actual residents accept including registering vehicles in the Granite State or obtaining a New Hampshire driver’s license. And asking these things of them is not a poll tax.
This is as it should be but New Hampshire Democrats have been stealing elections from Granite Staters for years and in spite of the court’s opinion they are ramping up to try and rob you of at least one more.

Statement of Facts:
New Hampshire has a practice of allowing citizens of other states to vote in New Hampshire during our General Elections, which includes elections for Federal office. This practice has increased in volume since the adoption of same day registration in 1996. Any person, from any state, who has attained the age of 18 can simply show proof identity to register to vote in New Hampshire, including a current, valid, out-of-state driver’s license. The registrant simply signs an affidavit as per RSA 654:12. It is known as a: QUALIFIED VOTER AFFIDAVIT.
The Attorney General’s Office, Elections Division, is tasked with enforcing election laws as per RSA 7:6 c. This office may prosecute – at its discretion.
There has been a decades old state of confusion regarding the terms “domicile” and “resident” which has been the source of several lawsuits regarding out-of-state college voters and transient campaign workers who choose to vote in New Hampshire instead of their legal residence in their home state.
The circular logic New Hampshire courts use to let unqualified out-of-state residents vote in our state goes on and on.
In 2012 a Superior Court judge, now retired because he let other stupid opinions he had about female attorneys be known, issued an injunction against an attempt by the NH Legislature to stop out-out-state voters from involvement in our general elections where positions for federal office are determined. This activist judge invented a term for unqualified transient voters known as “mobile domiciled” voters
The case went to the NH State Supreme Court in 2015 after dragging through several elections.

How much support is there for abortion in New Hampshire? Democrats want us to believe that the majority of Granite Stater’s support the practice. Gubernatorial Candidate Steve “Take another Step to the Left” Marchand is convinced of this. Elsewhere I’ve seen more nuanced responses.
Most of the folks I know are committed to protecting pre-born life with few exceptions, like to save the life of the mother. But some support abortion up to 20 weeks. Others are indifferent to the life question but don’t want tax dollars supporting the practice.

SeacoastOnline reports that New Hampshire Governor Chris Sununu would support an effort to get the courts out of the educational funding morass.
“The only way to undo (the current system) is a constitutional amendment, which I would fight for any day of the week – as soon as we get a Legislature that will actually pass one,” said Sununu. “I’m all for it. And even just amending to just ‘the Legislature decides.’ Your representatives, the most representative body on the planet… decide amongst themselves what the formula is, how the funds get dispersed and ensure there is an adequate education.”

Keep in mind that it is the Sanctuary Status of Lawrence, Massachusetts that makes it the epicenter of opioid and human trafficking into New Hampshire.

The State Public Utilities Commission has approved a request by Eversource for a 19.1% hike in energy supply charges, according to the Union Leader.
The Public Utilities Commission approved the supply charge to go up from the current 7.903 cents per kilowatt hour to 9.412 cents.
This is a direct pass-through for the price of generated power with no profit going to the utility, Eversource officials said Friday.
And who can we think of that has been at the forefront of ramming expensive uncompetitive energy down our throats?
I’d like to check the pulse of the “money-out-of-politics” crowd, mostly far-left progressives, on Billionaire Tom Steyer starting up another NextGen political money laundering operation in New Hampshire.
I predict a flatline. No outrage. No protests. No complaints of any kind about the California Billionaire dumping another $30 million into state politics, $750,000.00 right here in New Hampshire.
Before we were hacked in April GraniteGrok climbed up the Alexa Rankings (for Online news or media sites in New Hampshire) to do battle with the top 5. The redirect did some damage to that, and we almost dropped out of the top ten.
That was not great, and we’ve written about the redirects that plagued readers, but some good has come out of it. We amped up the fundraising and our new Web site, which Skip lovingly refers to as Grok 3.0, is under construction. The new security is a lot better and we’ve got some very serious plans for this platform that will, yes literally, take us to the next level.
So what level are we on now? I asked Alexa’s ranking where we stood in the New Hampshire Political/News interwebs and here’s what I learned.
Today, Republican Governor Chris Sununu decided to stand with an out-of-state multi-millionaire rather than New Hampshire women when he signed House Bill 1319 (HB 1319), aka the ‘Gender Identity’ bill. This, despite the fact that an overwhelming majority of Granite Staters asked him to veto the legislation after demanding the legislation be killed in the senate in the first place.
It seems Sununu is more interested in out-of-state special interest groups with a lot of money rather than the ramifications this legislation will have to New Hampshire women. This legislation allows any man who claims to be a woman to be considered as such in public policy; therefore, essentially erasing women.
The ramifications of this legislation to women have been documented over and over and over, everything from domestic abuse shelters to rape centers to homeless women’s shelters to women’s and girls’ sports but pay no attention to the man behind the dress, wimminfolk in the Granite State are just going to have keep their mouths shut.
Last week some Democrat stooge was on the radio badmouthing Governor Sununu on the economy and workers and families and wages (insert dancing donkey in a top hat), but she did it without actually saying anything. It was all empty rhetoric. Palm card pablum.
Yes, I have plenty of issues with Chris Sununu’s “priorities.” I have problems with State Republican Leadership’s priorities. But for all the goofy things they focused on this past Session they managed to not get in the way of the State’s economy.
An economy that has entered record-setting territory.
From the Concord Monitor. Mr. Holder Clarifies his clarification.
“My comments were intended to support the right of domiciled students to vote in the state of New Hampshire as long as they comply with existing law,” Holder said. “In no way should they be viewed as supporting any proposal that would make it harder for students to exercise their right to join in the Granite State’s electoral process.”
We reported yesterday on the original clarification in which he stated that Student’s should register cars in the Granite State and get a New Hampshire license. He has now backtracked to the State Demo Party Default answer that this is bad.
Speaking to Democrats at Saint Anselm College on Friday, Former US Attorney General Eric Holder said Students who want to vote in New Hampshire get a NH Driver’ License and register their cars.
“If you are gonna be considered a resident of this state so you can vote, that means that you have to follow all the other residency requirements that any other citizen would have to comply with,” Holder told reporters. “If you are a New Hampshire resident you have to do a variety of things, and if you’re a college student and a resident, you should have to do the same things.”
As we rambled through and out of the final year of Obama’s presidency, New Hampshire had a drier-than-usual year. By drier, I mean (Southern New Hampshire) ranked 23rd for precipitation out of 124 years in the Granite State sample.

People who pay attention to such things are predicting a record Memorial Day Weekend for tourism in New Hampshire. Not that this is anything new. The Granite State has experienced year after year of tourism growth in contradiction to more than a decade of fearmongering by Climate Cultists that global warming would ruin the industry.
So, a note to the undeterred tourists. If you plan to bring your campfire “supplies,” New Hampshire forest rangers want to check out your wood.
