The Shrill Kathy Spins the Early Primary Notion

“I think it’s your own choice if you turn from an angry young man to a bitter, old bastard.” —Billie Joe Armstrong

Shrill_Kathy_Chronicals_Grok.jpg

In yet another Cacophonous rant from the “Shrill Kathy” The Union Leader gave her space and ink yesterday to tell readers “why” a December primary will benefit Democrats and hurt Republicans. But, the title is about the only thing she got right and the remaining 782-word pablum was her usual diatribe against the opposition: Those with an “R” next to their names.

The “Shrill Kathy” suggests that “mere insistence” by Florida and Nevada are the mechanisms driving a December primary and makes no mention of the New Hampshire statute (N.H. RSA 659:3) which states in part, “The presidential primary election shall be held on the second Tuesday in March or on a date selected by the secretary of state which is seven days or more immediately preceding the date on which any other state shall hold a similar election, whichever is earlier … ” So Kathy…it is not “more likely” as you put it, but mandated by statute that the Granite State goes first.

What a Twit

Twitter’s Link service automatically shortens links when you put them into Twitter, and even identifies Larry the Twitter Bird c/co www.stargroup1.comthe untrustworthy ones for the recipients.  An example of this comes courtesy of Harrell ‘Jersey Shore’ Kirstein, who sent me a direct message with a link that produced such an alert.

Twitter’s link service at http://t.co is used to better protect users from malicious sites that engage in spreading malware, phishing attacks, and other harmful activity.

A link converted by Twitter’s link service is checked against a list of potentially dangerous sites. When there’s a match, users can be warned before they continue:

Why would the spokes-model for the New Hampshire Democrat Party be sending me a Direct Message on Twitter, linked to a dangerous web site, at 2:45 AM on a Sunday morning?

What Would Carol SEIU-Porter Do? (WWCSPD?) -Panama Edition

Congress passed three trade deals yesterday which reminded of the words of a previous Democrat Congresswoman from CD-1 in New Hampshire.  (note: original press link dead)

This disconnect between the Panama FTA and the current needs to restore our economy will make any vote on this FTA difficult to justify.

She goes on to suggest it would not be good for the US or create jobs.  Everything else the left voted on in 2009 would supposedly "create jobs" and didn’t, but something that actually would? Can’t support that.

HR 3079 and it passed the House 300-126, meaning some Democrats had to vote for it.  Most likely those in more contested districts.Panama

But back in the day when the Democrats controlled all of the Federal government, and Republicans we were told were destined for the dustbin of history,  Carol–who get’s most of her funding from Unions and Union funded Democrat Leadership PAC’s,–believed what she was told by Nancy Pelosi, in direct opposition to the obvious.  Letting us trade freely in Panama would hurt the US job market.  And the entire Democrat party line on Free Trade, top to bottom, was the union line.  It will cost American jobs.  Don’t send jobs overseas.

But as I pointed out here, the Panama agreement simply made it easier for us to sell goods in Panama by lifting tariffs and opening their market to us.  A longstanding disadvantage that Democritus believe turns less on whether it is true and more–in the case of Obama– on if the campaign optics are good.

Response to Attacks on Republicans for PAYGO

To the Editor:

Apparently I can read better than Mr. Veverka can hear.  In his October 6th letter in the Laconia Daily Sun, Mr. Veverka adamantly assured us the term “TEA Party” did not exist in the Hightower article referenced by my letter.  “TEA Party” can found near the beginning of paragraph 8.

The focus of my letter was on the TEA Party, what it is and isn‘t, its criticisms of both parties and wasteful government operations, and its focus on principles, not political party.  My letter was inspired by the Hightower column, the most recent (at the time) attempt to malign the TEA Party and its principles.

Hightower’s article and Veverka’s letter are just partisan attack pieces.  It is  a common liberal technique to attack anyone who tries to stop or even slow the growth of government.  Anyone who won’t cave to whatever liberals demand will be smeared.  It doesn’t matter whether the program works, is worth the cost, is counter-productive, or is affordable.

Is The NH Dem Petition Against Baldasaro A Fraud?

If you missed it, a State party Democrat (David Robinson), speaking for a left wing Veterans group (VoteVets.org) is part and parcel to an effort by the New Hampshire Democrat Party to petition House Speaker O’Brien to remove Republican Al Baldasaro as Chairman of the House Veterans Affairs Committee. None of the reporting to date, other than here at GraniteGrok, has identified the group or Robinson as Democrat-backed or connected. But there’s news about the petition they plan to give to O’Brien.

If you go to Change.org, you can see the petition set up by the New Hampshire Democrat Party, but the list of signatories is not accessible just by visiting the petition page. One thing we do know however is that of the ten names we can see, seven of them are from out of state.

NH Dems Target ‘Free State Project.’

OWS protester craps on police car.

Manchester City Democrats are concerned.  People need to know which candidates in City races have links to the Free State Project, so they’ll "know where they stand on the issues." (From the Tuesday morning edition of the Union Leader)

It sounds like the folks at the Suckley (Sullivan/Buckley) School for Orwellian Linguistics are using peoples lack of knowledge about the liberty movement to frighten them out of voting for anyone they can label as a Free Stater.

Guilt by association.  Prejudice.  Create division. Fear mongering narrative. Typical.

Of course we could never in a million years suggest that the gentleman crapping on a police car at the Occupy Wall Street (Democrat Party Endorsed) protest, is in any way an example of the Democrat Party.  (Looks like he’s trying to pass ObamaCare.) The trash, the arrests.  Then of course there are other recent union protests, violent threats, wishing rape and violence on Republican Women, video games where you get to kill Republican ‘Zombies,’ calling Republicans Racists for liking a conservative candidate who happens to be black–while calling the black man a monkey in a window…Can you find any prominent New Hampshire Democrats who have spoken out against any of the ill heaped on their opponents?  Probably not.  That is because they support it.

Two Dick’s & Obama’s Vitamin Police

Long story short, if the regs went into place the vitamin shelf at the store would be emptied until supplement makers submitting test results to the FDA and the products were approved. And the added for battling the bureaucracy and testing regime? You’d be paying that when they products went back on the shelf, if they did.

NH Dems Endorse Obama Tax Increase

As reported in the Union Leader Ray Buckley and the State Democrat party would like people to call members of congress and encourage them to support Mr. Obama’s tax on investors and job creators so Democrats can fund public sector union jobs and keep the dues-donations rolling in.  They also support the push to defer millions in social security revenues on to the shoulders of our children, though Buckley words it differently.

The plan would cut the payroll tax that 30,000 New Hampshire small businesses pay, provide tax relief for families, funding for police, firefighters and teachers, school building improvements and transportation projects in the state.

This entire effort is another organized scam to fund unions and Democrat campaigns, in the run up to November 2012, at taxpayer expense.  The payroll tax cut is a useless gesture, not a cut but a deferment, so what we have is more of the same catastrophic economic policy that has kept us in a recession and on the brink of collapse for three years now.

Harrel Kirstein’s Paycheck.

Harrell is a campaign gypsy. Follows the money. But his home address is still in Jersey. Wonder if he really gives a damn about New Hampshire? Well, he is a Democrat. As long as they are paying him he’ll pretend.

Another Democrat Run Destination For ‘Independents.’

Can you smell it?  It’s called Ruck.us.   Ruck.us (http://www.ruck.us) is where the independents and other political inactivists will finally be able to gather online to talk about, organize, and get involved in whatever it is they believe in.  Right there at Ruck.us.  Of course I thought that was what the Coffee Party was for.  Then there was No Labels.   In NH we have the LFODA.  And don’t forget F*ck Tea.  There must be room for more of these groups.

But you know what?  I bet this time it is different.  I bet Ruck.us is not funded by Democrats. And it probably isn’t run by some crowd of entrenched progressives, and well connected left wingers like all those other so-called non-partisan, can’t we all just get along pretenders….except…that…it is.

Both of its founders have deep roots into the Democrat Party machine.

Do liberals and the rest of the political left in America hate and fear democracy?

Are you kidding me? These are the people who "saw the future" in Stalinist Russia, and said that "it worked." These are the people who defended Mao Tse Tung as "an agrarian reformer" who may have engaged in a few, limited excesses. These are the people who argue that Pol Pot and the Cambodian killing fields are some kind of right-wing falsehood. These are people who still lionize the Cuban dictator and communist murderer (but I repeat myself), Fidel Castro!

YES, liberals and other "regressives" hate and fear democracy. HERE’S WHY:

Democrats Reject Obama’s Jobs Bill

Yesterday provided another clear example of President Obama and other Democrats blaming others for their own failings.  For a month Democrats have blamed Republicans for not passing President Obama’s “jobs” bill.  But, yesterday when Republicans pressed for a vote on the bill, Senate Democrats prevented the vote.

President Obama lies when he blames Republicans for failure to pass a jobs bill.  Even Democrats know President Obama’s bill is unacceptable, full of wasteful spending and increased taxes, intended only to give a failing President a campaign tool for fooling ignorant voters.

Revenue Prediction

No, I’m not going to guess how New Hampshire will fare on tax revenue. I am going to predict how democrats will respond to the news of a surplus and business tax revenues over estimate.

The TEA Party is for America not for a Political Party

Jim Hightower’s recent article titled, “Playing politics with humanitarian aid”, (see Jim Hightower.com) is just another anti-TEA Party screed falsely attempting to link it with the Republican Party.  The article can be summarized:  Republicans and TEA Partiers cannot complain about Democrat wasteful and irresponsible spending which rewards Democrat supporters because Republicans similarly spend to reward Republican supporters.

The TEA Party objects, equally strenuously, to wasteful and irresponsible spending by both parties.

The TEA Party believes that politicians in Washington are only authorized to raise and spend money to pay for Constitutionally authorized functions.   Politicians are not authorized to tax or borrow money to reward friends or to buy political support.

Jeanne Shaheen: “Porking” Those Tax Increases Down Our Throats

“If Thomas Jefferson thought taxation without representation was bad, he should see how it is with representation …” —Rush Limbaugh

Jeanne_Shaheen_pig_nose.jpg

Today’s Union Leader Editorial, entitled, “Free Cops!” points once again to the ills of  having a big-government Democrat like Jeanne Shaheen serving the Granite State in the U.S. Senate. Like her liberal counterpart, former Congressperson Carol Shea-Porter,  Shaheen brings home the bacon … To wit: a $1.4 million federal grant to pay for six new police officers;  Providing four for Manchester and one each for Pelham and Claremont.

Not a new scheme at all. During the Clinton years we see how well it worked here in the Queen city the last time the Federal Nanny doled out money for cops. And as always, there is an end on the horizon for that funding which only segues the bitter fiscal fight also on the horizon.  Police administrators, Union hacks and those in city government with a shameless fealty for tax and spend policies to keep those positions, will seek to have them funded on the backs of local taxpayers. Epic Fail. This latest grant is a mere redux of the same scheme.

Senator Shaheen is the epitome a big-government liberal. She does not respect local government, nor the people who elected her. This is a clear second example of such in just a few short months where Shaheen advocated for the Feds to contract locally with Planned Parenthood in the wake of the Executive Council’s vote not to fund Planned Parenthood services in the Granite State. Now she gives Manchester government a back-handed slap.

Socialist Fallacies

Socialist Fallacies is a book written by Yves Guyot and readily available in the public domain as a pdf.  If you have not read it, I highly recommend it.  Every page (so far) is loaded with observations about socialism that are as relevant today as they were in the early 1900’s.  Guyot relates the problems … Read more
