Nullification….Liberal Style

by

Null and Void

Back in 2007, when the New Hampshire legislature was dominated by Democrats, Liberals, Progressives, and all other sorts of flotsam and jetsam, something interesting happened:

They nullified a federal law…..Gasp!

Yes, sir, they certainly did.  New Hampshire’s HB 685 nullified the REAL ID Act, passed in 2005 and signed into law by George W Bush, requiring states to issue federally-approved drivers’ licenses and share information with the Federal government.  In fact, 24 other states passed some sort of legislation or resolution, declaring their intent to defund and/or not participate in the program.

The unmitigated, radical horror.

So, the next time someone tells you that nullification is “one step short of secession”, “caused the civil war”, or that States simply “do not have the right to nullify”, remind them of one of New Hampshire’s recent forays into nullification, the liberals who passed it , and the Governor who signed it.
