Irony?

If you gave Exxon Mobil an army, the ability to print their own currency, the power of taxation, the ability to set national energy policy, and executive authority to enforce it, what do you think might happen? If Democrats are to be believed they would do with oil and gas what Barack Obama and the … Read more

New Hampshire Democrats Propose Passing the Highest Beer Tax in New England

NH Democrats look to make New Hampshire Highest Beer tax in New England
NH Democrats have goals. One of them is having the highest beer tax in New England

Whenever you are sitting with ‘friends,” talking about what you could do to help create jobs and improve the economy in New Hampshire, I bet one of the first things you think of is instituting the highest beer tax in all of New England, right?

Well if you happen to be a New Hampshire Democrat that is exactly what you do.

HB 168 would increase the excise tax on any beer that’s sold in New Hampshire to 40 cents per gallon, a 33% increase.

CBS Boston reports (WBZ) that this would surpass Maine’s 35 cents per gallon, making New Hampshire’s tax the highest in New England.

Main Steet Republican’s Drop “Republican.”

main street repubublicans
The Main Street Republicans “Main Street”

In any good story of conquest the tyrants who rule the police state always have ‘loyalists.’  These are indigenous members of the conquered people who side with the oppressors in exchange-presumably–for less oppression.  They are turn-coats, the worst variety of the sunshine patriot, or how about members of the Republican Main Street Partnership?

How about a Republican Main Street Partnership that has dropped the word ‘Republican.’

I am trying to decide if they have done us a favor?

If Democrats Really Want to See Wages Increase….

minimum wage cartoon payneEvery good New Hampshire Democrat knows that the best way to have an immediate impact on jobs and the economy is to increase the cost of doing business.  Making it cost more to run a business acts like a tax on the business owner, and Democrats love taxing business.

Enter HB127, An act relative to the state hourly minimum rate.

Rep Tim Horrigan and admitted socialist Peter Sullivan (New Hampshire Democrats), are unsatisfied with the machinations of the Federal government in the value of labor relative to the task at hand and are certain that they know better, not just than their Federal master in D.C., but better than every employer and employee in the entire Granite State, what any hour of labor is (at minimum) worth.

Thank Obama and Democrats for Tax Increases

Democrats have told so many lies about taxes and the fiscal cliff that they apparently felt compelled to extend, but not further reduce, the Bush tax cuts on incomes below $400,000.

After ten years of claiming that the Bush tax cuts were only for the rich (a lie), that they caused the deficit crisis (a lie), and that the Clinton tax rates were wonderful (fiction), why didn’t President Obama and other Democrats just let the Bust tax cuts expire and revert to the Clinton era tax rates?

That’s Just Crazy Talk

The Left began the war on women when a journalist asked Mitt Romney what he thought about states banning contraception.  No state was even considering it.  Neither Romney nor anyone else on the right had ever said anything even remotely related to that.  But from that moment on the question was not only asked by … Read more

What a Feminist Looks Like

Forward is the New Backward

Taxes and Democrats The pledge politics lie and broad based taxesReality thy name is payroll tax cut, or more to the point the absence of same.  That’s right, the federal government will no longer be subsidizing your lifestyle.  The “holiday” is over.  They are taking back that which is theirs.  And all of our paychecks are going down as a result.

Effective January 1st the payroll tax rises from 4.2% to 6.2%.  That hits everyone.  And there is a lesson to be learned here if liberals, and people who refuse to pay attention, pay attention.  That 2% subsidy you just lost–that is what the Democrats call it when they don’t tax rich people, business owners, or oil companies, a subsidy–really is your money, just like it really does belong to everyone else who goes to work or runs a business or takes on investment risk.

Blue Hampshire Hits Reset Button on Democrat Cynthia Chase?

Blue Hampshire Resets Democrat Cynthia Chase
Blue Hampshire Resets Democrat Cynthia Chase

ALG’s Daily Grind at Net Right Daily is reporting the rantings of New Hampshire Democrat Cynthia Chase…with a Tweest!  OK, it’s actually an update.

The blog post from Rep. Cynthia Chase has been pulled down. In fact the whole website, BlueHampshire.com was completely reset today just as light was being shed on the questionable blog post from Cynthia Chase. Convenient. Fortunately, we have the cached version of her post so that her words will forever be documented on the world wide web.

(emphasis mine)

How convenient, indeed.

I wonder what else went missing from the keyboard of the progressive Democrat Cynthia “I moved here from Rhode Island” Chase?

Rush Limbaugh Mentions Me On The Air.

Rush LimbaughThis goes into the “Wow that’s kind of cool category.”  Today Rush Limbaugh mentioned me by name.  I didn’t hear it but Skip called me from the road, and he was pretty darn excited for me.

Rush was reporting on the Breitbart post that Warner Todd Huston put up linking to my GraniteGrok post about Democrat Cynthia Chase.  So I give all the credit for Warner.  Thanks for sharing.  I got a serious kick out of being mentioned on the most listened to radio show in America.

But I have to wonder, as people give me digital high-fives and attaboys, just how much street-cred does this give to Ms. Chase?  My earnest hope is that the weight of her remarks humbles her into reevaluating her worldview, but seeing as she is a New Hampshire Democrat the NHDP will probably give her an award and throw her a party for having Limbaugh call her out.

Such is the nature of the divide.   Accused of Legislative Tyranny –Way to go Progressive Girlfriend!

Meanwhile,  it is only January 4th.  I’ve been linked to on Breitbart and Rush Limbaugh has quoted me on the air.  Not a bad start to 2013.  (And I was just awarded AFP’s blogger of the month for December 2012).  I can’t say I expect the rest of the year to be more interesting but I’ll keep writing and sharing as I always do and whatever happens, happens.

Why Did We Need RGGI?

With the recent approval of significant electric rate increases that will allow PSNH to recover some $67 million dollars a year in costs related to legislated state energy mandates (NH Renewable Standard and the RGGI tax), having this fall into my in-box could not have been more fortuitous.

From the journal Earth System Dynamics billed as “An Interactive Open Access Journal of the European Geosciences Union” comes this paper which suggests that the posited AGW forcing effects simply isn’t statistically significant in the observations, but other natural forcings are.

What that means is that a European Science journal is reporting a study that tried to consider all the data and all the factors that might influence global temperature change and human activity (AGW) was deemed statistically insignificant.  The things that drive temperature change–natural forcings–are what makes the world get warmer and cooler.

So why did we need RGGI?

New Hampshire House Democrat Respect & Civility Alert!

New Hampshire Democrats ran on respect and civility.  And we knew it for the fraud it was but people still fell for it.David Miller Democrat Roch NH

Part and parcel to the fraud was Speaker Norelli claiming to shake up the seating arrangements in the House to help build respect and civility,  bi-partisanship, working together…I figured it was so the Democrat majority could intimidate the minority members.  Another rep I spoke with suggested that this seating plan would make it easier for the Speaker to call close voice votes however she felt like calling them.

I can’t speak to the latter but the harassment by Democrats has already begun.

Today’s Respect and Civility Award goes to David P. Miller D- Rochester.

Democrat Terie Norelli Brings Civility To the New Hampshire House?

Get a load of this. It is part of a quote from an elected member of the New Hampshire House.

“What we can do is make the environment here so unwelcoming that some will choose not to come, and some may actually leave.  One way is to pass measures that will restrict freedoms that they think they will find here.”

Can you imagine any person in elected office saying something like this and not being run out of office by their party leadership? The person speaking is talking about using the legislature’s police powers to intentionally drive people away from New Hampshire or out of New Hampshire. They are suggesting we use the government to restrict people’s freedom, on purpose.

PUC Approves PSNH Rate Increase – Observe the Democrat’s Circular Green Firing Squad!

Winds of ChangeBack in September PSNH announced that it would need to rasie rates to deal with about 67 million dollars a year in costs associated with RGGI (and other state energy mandates)- a tax (RGGI) that Maggie Hassan was proud of, if you’ve forgotten.   (Grokster Tom also has a nice treatment of those same stories here.)

At the time of that announcement the estimated annual hike on rate payers was about $50.00 per year, more for commercial users obviously.  But the rate increase just approved by the New Hampshire Public Utilities Commission (PUC) will cost you a good deal more than that.  Make that a great deal more!

Stupidity, Civility, And The Continued Assault on Free Staters

This was originally part of my previous post on pull quotes I found amusing but turned into something else that would have distracted from the previous post being purposefully short and the other quotes getting a shot a some discussion.

In the Union Leader article,  “Free State Movement Not Embraced by All Granite Stater’s” once you get past the “No Sh**” moment presented by the title of the article,  or the fact that this is written like some kind of hit-piece on Republican Mark Warden, and the Second amendment, and Liberty, we can focus on a quote from Democrat Aaron Gill, who having lost to “Free Stater” Mark Warden in an election where state Democrats were winning seats as if Obama could just give them away…

“I’m gay, and I didn’t want the government telling me I couldn’t get married,” Gill said. “But after a while I learned that the world doesn’t function that way. I guess I was really a Democrat all along but just didn’t realize it.”

There are Free Stater’s who are Democrats, or didn’t you know that?

Why “Green” Energy?

If you wanted to bring western civilization down, give it a good beating for all its so-called malfeasance, what better way than to make it near impossible to sustain the things that made being a western civilization all it was cracked up to be?

Consider that which makes us or any of our allies any sort of global power?  Wealth and energy.  Commerce, industrialization, transportation, and militarization to protect it or project it.

We can mince the finer points about what makes all this possible but they all share one thing in common.  Cheap, abundant energy.

So if you had a mind to take the average Western Civilization down a notch or two, or even all of them, to make an example of a country like, say America, the fastest way to do that would be to cry wolf about something that would be difficult to dispute and easy to frighten people with; something that would make cheap abundant energy so threatening that no one would pay much attention to the real threats that not having it might present; you’d put forward a theory of global catastrophe that demanded we redirect massive amounts of wealth into expensive forms of energy incapable of sustaining the level of commerce, industrialization, transportation, or defense that we’ve come to enjoy.

You’d invent Global Warming and then blame the people who make the cheap abundant energy for causing it.

Will Terie Norelli And The Democrats Try To Ban My Refrigerator?

My Fridge has a modified magzine in it
Will Demcrats try to ban my ‘Fridge because its got a modified magazine in it?

I think it is appropriate to add this picture (right) to Susan Olsen’s post.  The one with the Journalist’s Guide To Firearm’s Identification.’

This is my refrigerator door.  It was modified by the manufacturer to accommodate an extra magazine capable of holding all manner of ‘lethal’ ordinance.  Soda.  Beer.  Water, in those earth destroying plastic bottles, paid for with a plastic card, slid through a device made of plastic, carried home in plastic shopping bags and yes…that fridge door modification is made of plastic.
