So, about your children?
New Hampshire is the highest-ranked state for children’s well-being, according to a national survey released on Wednesday.
The Annie E. Casey Foundation’s Kids Count report, based on data from 2016, ranks New Hampshire first overall and second in economic well-being, with drops in the number of children living in households with high cost burdens and children living in poverty.
One of the televisions at Cardiac Rehab was on CNN this morning. The volume is down (thank the Lord), but it has closed captioning, so you can read (or not) what’s important to the Leader in Fake News. It’s all about “separating families.” The whole time I was there.
CNN is, not unexpectedly, all in and 100% focused on propagandizing a Democrat party talking point. Did I say not unexpectedly?
A progressive hypocrisy I exposed here just a few days ago. To which I am prepared to add.
To advocates for removing “traditional” from marriage in the NHGOP platform.
First, you are guilty of using the most frustrating and pernicious leftist debate tactic.
To try to make your case, you use examples outside the norm – such as families who adopt, grandparents raising their grandchildren, single parents due to the death of a spouse – in an attempt to undermine the norm. It’s no different than those who are pro-abortion trying to undermine opposition to abortion by raising rare cases of rape and incest, or more recently, using the existence of intersex persons to try to undermine natural sex/gender.
Many of us have friends or family whose situation is exactly one of those examples, but their efforts are a compassionate response to a crisis, not something that we should set as a legal standard.
Second, articulating an ideal is not exclusionary.
If alleged gun violence is what really makes her tick, why isn’t/hasn’t Mizz Hawkins taken up the fight on behalf of murdered children in Chicago? Might lead a skeptic to wonder whose parents make larger contributions…
…she made it to 99. We lost her almost two years ago.

And so…that brings me to another subject.
Let’s talk about our society today. A society and culture in an age of narcissism….
The statistics for the real modern family are dominated by the single parent household. The single parent household is overwhelmingly run, or not as the case may be, by a mom. Somewhere around 84% of them are fatherless children. Many of those never knew their father or are detached from them.
The leading cause of single-parent households is the culture.
The leading driver of culture in modern America is entertainment, media, and a socially driven secular humanism whose vanguard is the political left–who also dominate American entertainment and media.
The side effects of single parent households, just on children, an then by extension society, are catastrophic.
I can’t stand coercive statism. Neither can the lady on the left, it turns out. Slavery to the state these days is generally supported by left-wing hypocrites who champion their own self-aggrandizement while posing as “lovers of humanity.” The most murderous statists of all time—from Lenin to Stalin to Hitler to Mao to Ho Chi Minh to Fidel Castro—all claimed to love humanity, yet they created violent, tyrannical dictatorships. What motivates such people? English writer, sociological philosopher, and former Leftist Melanie Phillips explains it all:
“We have never invested as much in public education as we should have because we’ve always had a private notion of children; your kid is yours and totally your responsibility. We haven’t had a very collective notion of these are our children…We Have to Break Through This Idea ‘That Kids Belong to Their Parents‘“
If my kids were still young, Dr. Harris-Perry, you’d get a blast of “cold, dead hands” from me! Wait until you come to my house still thinking MY kids are YOUR kids. With antics like this, I no longer have to wonder where the Village Idiot went. Problem is, there are lots of folks, especially those in Education and the rest of Government do believe exactly what she is saying – these other Village Idiots believe children belong to us all rather than to the Parents that gave birth to them. Sure, we who have kids want to do everything possible for them – that called ‘being responsible’. If you make the decision to have them (or, made the decision to engage in an action that would result in a child, intended or not), that is the natural outcome – you put their best interests well in front of your own. To me, this is the essence of traditional marriage – yes, I and my wife loved each when we said “I Do’s” but we also realized that when the time to have children came, our needs were a far, far second compared to theirs. NEVER did I believe that ANYONE else was responsible for them.
