Rep. Ben Sasse Talks About the Kavanaugh Confirmation Circus

Senator Ben Sasse felt the need to use his time on day one of the Kavanaugh confirmation hearing to explain a few things about the confirmation process, the role of the Court, the legislature. Basic stuff you’d think sitting US Senators should have figured out.

I guess not.

From the IndependentSentinel,

Rep. Steve Scalise pummeled the Democrats Tuesday as they made fools of themselves at the Kavanaugh hearing. They pre-planned this screaming, obstructionist display, which makes it even more embarrassing for them.

That’s well and good, and they deserve to be made fun of for the circus they orchestrated, but Sen. Sasse stops and takes time to talk about the improper delegation of legisaltive authority by both parties that have set the stage for the politicization that results in the confirmation circus and other three-ring government extravaganzas.

It’s a great disquisition on many of the things wrong with how Congress does its job and the consequences of how it does it.

Enjoy. I did.
