Diversity is our strength! Diversity is our strength! Diversity is our strength! BULLSH*T. Not according to me, but according to the people who supposedly represent diversity. More specifically, Annie Kuster has endorsed WHITE MALE Colin Van Ostern to replace her in Congress.
CD-2
Colin Van Ostern (a/k/a Yogurt Boy) Is Too WHITE And Too MALE To Represent CD-2
What do you get if you morph Eric Swalwell, Adam Schiff, Gavin Newsom, and J.B. Pritzker? How about Colin Van Ostern … yet another WHITE MALE who talks the talk on DIVERSITY but does not walk the walk.
Sadly, NH-NeverTrump Journal Is Right … Only A RINO Can Compete In Congressional District 2
Lily Tang Williams’ story and message is compelling and inspiring. But that’s exactly why she has ZERO chance of winning CD2. A clear majority of the district’s voters are COMMUNISTS. An anti-Communist like Lily Tang Williams has no chance of winning a district that is majority Communist.
Team Negron Announces ‘Dead Heat’ with Democrat Ann Kuster for NH CD-2
Team Negron is milking this recent NH CD-2 survey data showing the Republican closing in on Democrat Ann Kuster in favorability. According to the St Anselm poll, Congresswoman Ann Kuster’s approval rating is down to 47%.
The New Hampshire Union Leader Endorses Steve Negron in CD-2
New Hampshire’s largest newspaper, the New Hampshire Union Leader, has endorsed Rep. Steve Negron in the Congressional District 2 Republican Primary.
The first-term representative from Nashua is relentlessly cheery, his friendliness and optimism a welcome antidote to the anger and frustration permeating modern politics. Negron is bringing a positive, confident conservative message to the race for Congress in New Hampshire’s Second District. The theme of his campaign is “Restore American Confidence,” and he has earned our endorsement.
GrokDebates – yes, we want to do them. We ARE going to do them going forward
Over the years, GraniteGrok has made it part of our Citizen Journalism to cover debates. One reason is that we like listening (and critiquing) who was there, what was said, and to determine their political philosophies with respect to the NH Constitution, US Constitution, and to date, the NH GOP. We did debates, and covered them in unique ways, that the mainstream press just couldn’t or wouldn’t. Part of the later is either just a lack of time (on TV News) or space (newspaper “inches” or word counts. We, on the other hand, have neither limitation.
We also covered debates that they didn’t – they (and often the NH GOP) are only interested in the top of the ticket races: Governor, US Congress, US Senate. The other races?
Pound sand. Well, no longer. I’ve been yakking about taking GraniteGrok to the “next” level – debates will be part of that. While we will still cover other folks’ debates, we believe it is time to do our own. And we shall.
Has NH CD-2 Candidate Dr. Stewart Levenson read the Constitution, Declaration, and contemplated on “The Proper Role of Govt”?
Dr. Levenson on WMUR News on 8/13 at 6pm, shows us a rather parochial and patriarchal view citizens in his own words:
The top issue is our approach to government; it’s broken. We have to get rid of the career politicians. I blew the whistle on the corruption and inept care at the VA and I’ll do the same in Washington. We need to get rid of the career politicians to put people in, do the job the people elected them to do, who will take care of their needs, who will represent them. We don’t have representation now in NH. We have congress people that are beholden to the big Corporation s to California to outside interests.
Now, I realize that in being a doctor, he takes care of people – that’s his worldview and we need people like that. But is it the Proper Role of Government to “take care of their needs”?
Absolutely not.
Which CD-2 GOP Candidate said “Government’s job is to provide opportunity for all”?
Again, I get stuff. Last Thursday, the Cheshire County Republican Committee held a debate for the Republicans vying to be the NH GOP victor in the primary in September for CD-2. What was brought to my attention was this line (video starts at 11:45 into the event):
“Government’s job is to provide opportunity for all of us.”
Let that sink in for a second.
Quick Thought: At least Landrigan gets our name right!
Actually, two quick thoughts. Many people don’t get our name right – it shows that Kevin Landrigan is paying attention. We thank him for not typing “Granite Grok”; there’s no space there that many put in. Just a bit of a nit, but it’s nice to see he cares about us!
State Rep. Steve Negron, R-Nashua, continues to steadily gain support among the very conservative base of the Republican Party for his 2nd Congressional District candidacy.
GraniteGrok, the conservative political blog, has chosen sides and went with Negron over former Manchester Veteran Affairs Medical Center whistleblower Dr. Stewart Levenson of Hopkinton and former Army officer and ex-Concord state representative Lynne Blackenbeker
“We not only unearthed every stone — we threw a few at him too! Did he answer ALL of our questions in a satisfactory manner? Honestly, no, but then again, very few politicians can. However, in the end, we believe that he earned our votes for an endorsement — we now ask you for your vote come September for Steve Negron,” GraniteGrok posted Tuesday.
The other quick thought: I wonder – where does that “very conservative base”
New Hampshire Libertarian Chest Pounding Over the Garcia Candidacy
There is a very healthy and necessary discussion taking place on Facebook over why Marilinda Garcia may not be a Libertarian-enough congressional candidate for some of the Libertarian’s in New Hampshire. They are concerned about her positions as a state rep on Gay Marriage, marijuana, abortion, junk like that. But it never occurred to anyone (that I saw–and apologies if I missed it) to ask the question that answers all those questions.
So I pointed that out for them.
545 People Are Responsible For The Mess, But They Unite In A Common Con
“Those who are too smart to engage in politics are punished by being governed by those who are dumber.”~Plato, Ancient Greek Philosopher
Charley Reese retired July 29, 2001. Who was Charley Reese? He was a columnist, serving 30 of those years at the Orlando Sentinel. Characterized best by his plainspoken manner and conservative views, he was with the Sentinel from 1971–2001, serving as a writer and other such editorial capacities. King Features Syndicate distributed Charley’s column, which published up to three times a week.
On February 3, 1984 Charley originally published the column below. This column additionally republished as his final column. Rightfully so and despite being 27 years removed from its orignal publish date, it is no less relevant.
Politicians are the only people in the world who create problems and then campaign against them.
Have you ever wondered, if both the Democrats and the Republicans are against deficits, WHY do we have deficits?
Have you ever wondered, if all the politicians are against inflation and high taxes, WHY do we have inflation and high taxes?
You and I don’t propose a federal budget. The President does.
You and I don’t have the Constitutional authority to vote on appropriations. The House of Representatives does.
You and I don’t write the tax code, Congress does.
You and I don’t set fiscal policy, Congress does.
You and I don’t control monetary policy, the Federal Reserve Bank does.
One hundred senators, 435 congressmen, one President, and nine Supreme Court justices equates to 545 human beings out of the 300 million are directly, legally, morally, and individually responsible for the domestic problems that plague this country.
I excluded the members of the Federal Reserve Board because that problem was created by the Congress. In 1913, Congress delegated its Constitutional duty to provide a sound currency to a federally chartered, but private, central bank.
I excluded all the special interests and lobbyists for a sound reason. They have no legal authority. They have no ability to coerce a senator, a congressman, or a President to do one cotton-picking thing. I don’t care if they offer a politician $1 million dollars in cash. The politician has the power to accept or reject it. No matter what the lobbyist promises, it is the legislator’s responsibility to determine how he votes.
Those 545 human beings spend much of their energy convincing you that what they did is not their fault. They cooperate in this common con regardless of party.
The Insufferable Charlie Bass
“At this point, everything is on the table, … All possible offset options remain open, including reconsidering highway projects sought by members in the transportation bill.”~Congressman Charlie Bass RINOism. Why Not Bob Giuda?
As one of the leaders of the NHRCV I played a part along with our tireless leader Kevin McHugh when our membership voted to endorse Jennifer Horn late last year. We here at the Grok have endorsed Jennifer and yes I had a hand in that as well. And since then a few libertarians–Bob Giuda’s core of support–have tried to have their way with us on our selection. I think that’s great and I encourage it. But I thought it appropriate to offer something of a rebuttal–which happens to be one of the single biggest reason why I chose Jen Horn over Bob.
