On Tuesday, January 14, in Concord, there will be a hearing on HB 1251, a bill to prohibit schools from permitting a male student to participate in a student sport designated for females. Currently, because of bill SB 263, signed into law by Gov. Sununu in July 2019, any male student that identifies as a female can compete in female-designated school sports.
Nashua Democrats continue to demonstrate what a train wreck their representation has been. This month’s poster child is Rep Deb Stevens (and it’s only Jan. 10th). She lost her mind on Facebook (in late Dec.), claiming Trump voters are stockpiling guns and ammo and would shoot everyone if he lost in November.

As bullying in the local schools remains a big problem, parents should consider testifying for legislation that could help parents and students. There’s a public hearing next Wed. on House Bill 1335, “An Act relative to private rights of action regarding pupil safety.”
Last night the Nashua Board of Education held its first meeting of the year. Despite welcoming five new Board members, the Board was able to quickly approve an additional budget item of $693,568 for K-5 reading materials. As we all know, reading is an important life skill.
Recently, the Nashua Assessing Office upgraded its software and uploaded new 2019 property record cards (PRC’s) for the public to access online. Unfortunately, the data from the old software doesn’t seem to have transferred to the correct fields in the new software and property cards are incorrect.
