Long before the “massive” contamination of a portion of Merrimack New Hampshire’s water supply, I was aware of PFOA’s. The Teflon adhering chemistry was already on the radar of the usual suspects as a potential source of easy revenue, actual science be damned, through media sensationalism, scare-tactics, and inevitably – lawsuits.
Well, head honcho Lloyd at Treehugger is at his car-bashing ways again and this time it is all about the fire-breathing, gas-guzzling, earthquake sounding 840 HP Dodge Demon (above). He simply hates them as do many of the other Treehuggers and they all sound positively Progressive as they all use that phrase, either directly or in one of its variations of, that is the signature tell of all Socialists-with-a-totalitarian-trying-to-burst-out: You Don’t Need That! The other being “I don’t anyone that would want such a thing”. Anyways, he went on a rant and you know how the argument goes (a take off on “CO2 is killing GAIA!”) – it’s all about safety and security of pedestrians and innocent people in smaller cars because these Demon drivers are out to kill everyone!
Here on TreeHugger we do have a tendency to complain about big gas guzzlers and talk a lot about the safety of people who walk and bike. I have even called for a slow car movement so that we could all drive little fuel efficient Isetta-style cars. I worry about drivers behind the wheel of Fast and Furious cars; they often don’t know how to handle them.

From Frank Sinatra who did it his way to Pedro Cerrano in the movie Major League who said, “F— You! Jobu, I do it myself,” entertainment prides itself on featuring a “talent” who bails on their old conventions and grabs independence with both hands “and a flashlight.”
It’s a mixed message, coming from that liberal bivouac. Moving forward is old school socialism. Forward like a wrecking ball or a dozer. While doing it for yourself is the thing “Moving Forward” is meant to crush. So when dirty-coal billionaire turned environmental green monster Tom Steyer announced he’s done donating to the DNC because it “can’t find it’s own ass with both hands and a flashlight” (my words not his) I find that entertaining.
A few weeks ago, I was asked to help a couple, John and Mona Winslow, of New Boston who are the subject of an administrative order to have “junk” removed from their property. The property is a pre-existing, nonconforming use in effect from about June of 1965. Tons of documentation prove this.
The Town, in document after document, confirms the pre-existing nonconforming uses of the 1.5-acre lot. It is a one-man repair garage, towing service. He plows snow, welds, fabricates, and performs all manner of mechanical magic.

A panel of scientists and policy experts moved their Doomsday Clock 30 seconds closer to midnight on Thursday, citing President Trump’s rhetoric on nuclear weapons, environmental deterioration due to climate change and a lack of trust in political institutions.
Let’s put aside the discrediting fiction of climate change for a moment (if we can) and focus on something with relevance.

There is so much snow in arctic Sweden that the reindeer are finding themselves on the roadways where they are being run down by speeding motorists.

For the past few weeks, Freedom NH, funded by out-of-state millionaires in the LGBTQ movement, has been pushing sponsored ads on social media trying to convince everyone in New Hampshire that trans people somehow don’t have the same protections from discrimination as everyone else does. They’re lying. Just like they lied last year when pushing the exact same legislation.

In a recent MoveOn.org email Chris Liquori from Portsmouth, New Hampshire is promoting a petition to cut the number of Democrat Superdelegates by 60 percent.
Vote to enact the Democratic National Committee Unity Reform Commission’s recommendations on reducing superdelegates by 60% in time for the 2020 primary cycle at the next DNC meeting.
Chris goes on to note that Superdelegates are contrary to the nature of democratic elections and the sooner we move to eliminate the undeserved influence of superdelegates, the stronger the Democratic Party will be. He wants to win back voter trust in time for 2020. Maybe because he’s a Bernie Sanders delegate?

Television ratings for the National Football League continue to plummet, stadium attendance diminishes week after week, and NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell seems oblivious to the leagues deteriorating appeal among football enthusiasts.
We’ve been subjected to years of movie sequels and prequels and our fair of TV show retreads. The prime contemporary examples of the latter are the reboots of Roseanne with its entire cast (really, can you imagine Roseanne as a Trump supporter) and now one of the “iconic” TV shows that turned itself into a Progressive culture war spear:

David Harsanyi writing in The Federalist wades into the latest on the #Releasethememo kerfuffle. The “memo” is rumored to outline FBI abuses some would have made public. Democrats (why is it always Democrats?) are scrambling to block the memo or discredit its contents, among them Dianne Feinstein and Rep. Adam Schiff; who are suggesting that the Russians are the ones pushing for the release of the memo, which Mike Rogers covered in some detail here.

As it turns out, reports today say that Twitter’s internal analysis found that it was mostly Americans, not creepy Slavic mind-control robots, who were behind the hashtags. Which is important but not the point he’s looking to make.
