Obama was right: “I won”…”You don’t like my policies? Go out and win an election“.  So, the Republicans did and Trump has certainly changed policies.  Pretty much all of them.  And made sure that everyone knew it – good news for us that voted to sandbag the Socialists None of those programs have been Progressive/Socialist in the least – while Trump may still not be a Conservative himself, he certainly is governing as one.  As I have said before, don’t listen to what they SAY, pay attention to what they DO!

So the Dems last night not only were sucking on lemons-on-steroids but had to listen to their LightBringer’s legacy, built on ephemeral Executive Orders, crumbling around them with a few Republican legislative efforts thrown in (deleting regulation after regulation via CRA, Tax Reform, getting rid of the heart and soul linchpin of Obamacare – the Individual Mandate).  And let’s not forget Trump signed an E.O. last night that canceled Obama’s E.O. to close Gitmo!  But last night, the Democrats showed what Socialists do best (when they’re not in power) – sore Loserville losers.  Here’s a list of the topics that they refused (with very few exceptions) to stand or applaud for:

– job creation
– higher wages
– lower African American and Hispanic unemployment rates
– bonuses for employees

Not even the Congressional Black or Hispanic Caucuses would stand for that – what, they want them POORER??

Concord – The New Hampshire House Freedom Caucus (NHHFC) today commended the House Commerce and Consumer Affairs Committee for recommending HB 628 as Inexpedient to Legislate. The bill would have created a 0.5% tax on income, paid by the employer, to fund paid family and medical leave, unless the employee opted out of the program and tax upon being hired.

When I hear the President use the word “American” it means, you, me, us, the United States, that sort of thing. When the ACLU hears ‘American,’ at least coming from Mr. Trump, it means something else.

As New Boston plays “Whack-a-Mole” with a commercial property that has been in existence since June 1965 as a repair garage/towing service, now deemed a “junkyard” in order to strip its vested property rights, a few questions pop up.

“Duke’s Garage,” the business in question, was issued a summons in 1970, by New Boston Police, for having more than two unregistered cars parked there. It turns out the offending vehicles were awaiting insurance company clearance for being towed by Duke’s Garage. Residential properties are restricted from having more than two unregistered vehicles. Grandfathered commercial is not subject to residential zoning even if it is in a residential area.

If the Democrats were looking bored, dour, angry, mad, and worse, they have much more to be worried about now.  Based on a snap poll from Monmouth University after last nite’s address, their desired Blue Wave Tsunami is diminishing into a ripple (emphasis mine):

Compared to its December poll, the new results (taken from interviews between January 28 and January 30) show big gains for both Trump and his party among registered voters. His December job approval rating, at 32 percent, was his lowest since taking office, according to Monmouth’s temperature readings. Now it has bounced up to 42 percent. Similarly, in December the GOP tax bill was notably unpopular, with 26 percent approving of it and 47 percent disapproving. Now opinions on the bill, after lots of hype about bonuses and cuts in tax withholding, are dead even at 44/44.

Worst of all for Dems, a 15-point advantage in the generic congressional ballot in December (51/36) is now down to two points (47/45). This equals the smallest Democratic advantage in any poll since the beginning of the current election cycle.

Democrats better hang on to their s**tholes because Trump just hit another one out of the park.

Just one week after the Trump administration announced a massive 30% tariff on imported solar panels, one of China’s largest solar panel manufacturers announced plans to open a manufacturing plant in the United States.

The feminization of males is on the top of people’s minds these days.  Liberals, with their strong senses of emotion and relativism, are advocating it, saying gender should be neutral and men should assimilate to better understand oppressed women.  Conservatives, with their strong traits of logic and rationalism, scorn the crossing of inherent gender boundaries (biology, anyone?).  The Statists (which includes both Democrats and Republicans), love the idea, as it creates yet another gaggle of protected classes to “govern”, dividing the population into further instability (and we all know that Statists love instability).

HB 628 (An Act that would institute a New Hampshire Income tax) passed the NH House 183 to 151 on January 9th, 2017. The bill has another hearing this week followed by another vote. Here is a reminder about the 33 Republicans whose vote for an Income Tax in New Hampshire are the only reason it is still alive. (Only one Democrat voted against the Income-tax.)

Currently, HB 628 sits in the House Commerce and Consumer Affairs committee. This bill claims to be a government-run Family and Medical Leave insurance bill, but it is actually an income tax bill.

The bill places a 0.5% tax on income for those who do not opt-out. The opt-out provision is deceptive at best, and fraudulent at worst. Those who want to opt-in do absolutely nothing; those who want to avoid the tax must obtain the services of a notary in order to do so.

One of the warrants that will be brought up at my hamlet’s Deliberative Session this week is one that would extend the property tax break given to honorably discharged veterans – a snippet from the Laconia Daily Sun:

Veterans exemption

The warrant has a mixed 2-1 recommendation on expanding the veterans’ property tax exemption “to all honorably discharged veterans” with Grenier — himself a veteran — having voted against the change, saying he believes other veterans also would not want to shift their obligations to other citizens. Given the chance to reconsider his negative recommendation, Grenier said, “I thought about it a lot, and thought people would come out of the woodwork and lambaste me about it, but I haven’t heard anything, so I will stick to my position.”

I will be speaking out in favor of this motion even as it would result in a slightly higher amount of taxes for me; many put themselves in harm’s way in that many gave some, some gave all.  This is all about respect and honoring sacrifices. I disagree with Rags (his nickname) with his outlook, here, and respectfully ask that, once again, he rethink his position on this issue.
