Blogline of the Day:

This is how the Left works: by covering its attack on the past by using the values of the present in order to command the dialogue of the future. The essence of Christianity is forgiveness, but clearly George Washington and Thomas Jefferson must be made to suffer for their sins, even if they weren’t regarded … Read more

New Hampshire’s Bipartisan Cultural Elites

Mr. Trump won the presidency on an issue no one else in the ruling class took seriously. Immigration, border control, and the very definition of what it meant to be American. For years the cultural elites in Washington and across the nation have shared a growing disinterest in the idea of citizenship. Their reactions have run the gamut from patronizing to insults. Republicans pander to narratives while Democrats call them xenophobes, racists, and even white supremacists. Policies and priorities that resulted in the opioid crisis, and a range of national security issues.

Trump won because citizenship means something, and securing that something matters. And when we look at New Hampshire, we have a similar problem just waiting for someone to capitalize on it. “Border control” for voting purposes.

“Actors Cold Read Facts on FEMINISM Off of a Teleprompter”

Things generally aren’t always cracked up for the Left when facts enter into the equation: “Near the conclusion of the video, another of the actresses, apparently feeling duped, says, “I thought this was like, feminism. … I’m realizing what this is now.”” (H/T: The Blaze)

A good guy with a gun…another DGU

Liberal Gun control like drunk dirivngOK, a good LADY with a gun stops a burgler – a Defensive Gun Use:

“First I thought I was dreaming, and then I looked out the window, outside. I was still hearing the banging, banging, banging, so I yelled to whoever, ‘Who’s that on my door? Get off my door, get off my door.’” That happened at about 4:30a Saturday morning, but Philadelphian Maxine Thompson was very much awake. Despite her warnings, the alleged burglar didn’t stop and continued to smash her dining room window and enter the house. Thompson, going into survival mode, grabbed her late mother’s handgun and shot at the suspect. She told Fox 29 it was her first time using the gun.

Feds Approve NH Medicaid Expansion ‘Work Requirement’

This isn’t exactly bad news. The head of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) confirmed in a May 7 letter that New Hampshire, as of Jan. 1, 2019, will be able to require all beneficiaries of expanded Medicaid health insurance from ages 19 to 64 to participate in 100 hours per month of … Read more

Quick Thought: Feds Approve NH Medicaid Expansion ‘Work Requirement’

Obamacare-ScrewedSteve beat me to the punch on the announcement that the able-bodied recipients will have to work or be bettering themselves in order to continue to get free healthcare.  The Hill added this:

The waiver program will also require co-pays for Medicaid recipients who make more than 100 percent of the poverty level.

“Work requirements help lift able-bodied individuals out of poverty by empowering them with the dignity of work and self-reliability while also allowing states to control the costs of their Medicaid programs. They help people gain the skills necessary for long-term independence and success,” New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu (R) said in a statement.

People don’t always value “free” when other people are paying for that “free” thing on an institutional things. I’ve seen it up close when running our daycare.  When one has to put their own skinny into the picture,

Trump’s Poll Numbers Improve Despite 90% Negative Coverage

Under the circumstances, this is an impressive accomplishment. The liberal media’s war against President Trump was as fierce as ever during the first four months of 2018, but the onslaught appears to be for naught: In the face of massive and hostile coverage from ABC, CBS and NBC, Trump’s overall job approval rating actually rose, from 37 … Read more

Report: Climate Skeptics More Eco-Friendly Than Alarmists

Green brought to you by Carbon DioxideIn a recent report titled, “Believing in climate change, but not behaving sustainably: Evidence from a one-year longitudinal study” Cornell assistant professor Neil A. Lewis Jr., and University of Michigan researchers Michael P. Hall and Phoebe C. Ellsworth, discovered that the more alarmist you are about the climate, the less you do personally to “help it.”

The “highly concerned” cluster was “most supportive of government climate policies, but least likely to report individual-level actions, whereas the ‘Skeptical’ opposed policy solutions but were most likely to report engaging in individual-level pro-environmental behaviors,” the researchers concluded.

So much for “we don’t want your guns” – this Democrat goes the full gun Monty

MolonLabeAndXerxesBan assault weapons, buy them back, go after resisters: Ex-prosecutor in Congress

…Reinstating the federal assault weapons ban that was in effect from 1994 to 2004 would prohibit manufacture and sales, but it would not affect weapons already possessed. This would leave millions of assault weapons in our communities for decades to come. Instead, we should ban possession of military-style semiautomatic assault weapons, we should buy back such weapons from all who choose to abide by the law, and we should criminally prosecute any who choose to defy it by keeping their weapons. The ban would not apply to law enforcement agencies or shooting clubs.

…The Parkland teens have taught us there is no right more important than every student’s right to come home after class. The right to live is supreme over any other.

At least Eric Swalwell is being honest where the majority of Democrats refuse to be.  Instead, they always talk about “compromise”.  The problem is that the compromise they offer only goes one way: they want, we give.  It’s time to get in their faces and go “and what are YOU willing to give up in return?!?!?!”; it is time to stand up and tell these Anti-Constitutionalists “No further”.

The commentors ripped Salwell to shreds. For starters: “Eric Sawlwell, You need to Volunteer, Bulk Up, Man Up and be the first one in my door to take my rights!”.  There was also a Progressive anti-gunner by the name of Jacqueline Blaszka Campbell that that decided the old phrase “better to remain quiet than to speak out and remove all doubt” didn’t apply to her (emphasis mine):

The Town of New Boston v. John and Mona Winslow

Gavel-And-Scales-Of-Justice-570x381The portion of the Winslow case in New Boston that goes before a judge, not a jury, is all but over. The $375.00 per hour law firm representing New Boston submitted this filing, by hand, the Friday afternoon before the Monday, April 30 hearing in Superior Court – knowing full well the Winslow’s have no attorney and that I was denied, by the court, the opportunity to represent them.

Neal Kurk’s Assault on the Truth

Tweet Kurk 1

To understand why Representative Kurk is #FullofSchiff, we need to understand how SB 193 works.  From a prior post:

The bill provides that an “eligible student” can receive a grant from the State equal to 95 percent of the per-pupil funding the State provides to municipalities to pay for the cost of an “adequate education” (currently $3,636.00) in order to fund an “education freedom savings account.” The account must be opened through an approved scholarship organization and the funding can be used to pay only for “qualifying educational expenses.”

Quick Thought – Another view of “Neal Kurk’s Assault on the Truth” – Amelia M Keane is economically illiterate

Tweet Kurk 1Ed does a good job at taking apart NH State Rep (and House Finance Chair) Neil Kurk who deliberately wanted SB193 to fail and used all kinds of #FullOfShiff reasons to deliberately state untrue (IMHO) crap to persuade the ignorant-of-the-real-workings of the bill. You’d think that he’d think the whole thing over even if just from a political aspect – the more teachers, the more in the unions (because school districts / school boards have been “union captured”) means more money for the unions in dues.  And where does that dues money go?  Yes, a lot of it (the NEA and the ATF have historically been amongst the unions giving heavily to Democrat issues and Democrat candidates.  So, go thank your local Republican for making it harder to elect Conservatives/Libertarians to replace Democrats in office.

That’s one thing out of the way – back to Amelia who showed her ignorance (or is lying – take your pick) on how taxes get applied.  She’s absolutely wrong.

Sorry NH Women but some Republican Men say ‘F**K Your Feelings’

reaganbradley
Senators John Reagan and Jeb Bradley decided Granite State women don’t actually matter.

Last week Republican MEN decided to pass House Bill 1319 (HB 1319) aka the Gender Identity bill in order to allow biological men who ‘feel’ like women to gain access to women-only sex-segregated spaces. Apparently, the feelings of these biological men are far more important than the women whose spaces they will be allowed to occupy.

Of course, women have been using women-only spaces like bathrooms with trans women for years without a problem but an out-of-state multi-millionaire wanted to use Republicans as an experiment to see how many moron Republicans it takes to push legislation that infringes upon Freedom of Speech, Freedom of Religion and women’s rights.

The Press, Corporations, Campaign Finance, and The First Amendment

Will Democrats defend Obama silencing the press?Eugene Volokh is writing a series of articles on Free Speech and freedom of the press over at Reason. In this installment, he looks at exceptions afforded to a special class of corporate ‘speakers’ the professional press.

Under any sensible accounting scheme, an editorial supporting a candidate would cost a lot in labor costs and the editorial’s share of newsprint, ink, and distribution costs. That would often far exceed $1000; and most newspapers are of course organized as corporations. Likewise for extended coverage supporting or opposing a candidate, when engaged in by an opinion magazine.

Where So-Called “Trans Rights” May Violate Title IX

Transgender bathroomNew Hampshire is on the verge of denying rights to people under the pretense of providing them. The Trans bill sailed through the House under the cover of giving something to a class of persons what they already had under existing law. Rights they’ve been exercising all along.

In the process, the Legislature has handed lawyers a colossal bag of easy money while complicating the lives of thousands of business owners and hundreds of local municipalities who must know address the needs of an unknown number of claimants to these rights. Unknown because anyone can claim them at any time in a toxic culture where daring to question their veracity is equally treacherous.
