Typically, when the professional Left is after a name, a donor or donor list, for example, it’s so they can intimidate them, pillory them, and (in extreme cases) drive them from their jobs and homes. Destroy them publicly, professionally, all over what amounts to a talking point, a narrative, political power.

Keep that in mind as we explore efforts (one more time) by North Country Democrats and media allies to unmask and openly report the name of a woman whose ‘crime’ is being the victim of domestic abuse. A woman whom some Democrats appear intent on destroying because she stands between them and the election of her accused abuser.

The ACLU Defends the NRA from Gov. Andrew Cuomo

The State of New York and Governor Andrew Cuomo are engaged in a campaign to encourage banks and insurance companies to divest themselves of any dealings with the National Rifle Association (NRA). Bereft of insurance or financial tools, it would become difficult if not impossible for the organization to operate.

The NRA has taken the State of New York to Court and the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) has written a brief in their defense on first amendment grounds.

Bob Burns: CD-2 Paper Maché Second Amendment Candidate

Paper-Mache-Congressional-Candidate-Bob-BurnsPaper Maché. Most of us did Paper Maché when we were in grade school. We blew up balloons, dipped strips of Newspaper into wheat paste and stuck them to the balloon to create some figure…a Pinata, perhaps, that we filled with Candy and later destroyed. People do creative things with Paper Maché. I once made a Dala Horse when I was about 12.

Paper Maché is great stuff for arts and crafts, but frankly it sucks for making anything else useful in life. Paper Mache is fun. Thats all. And Paper Maché candidates look great, sound great,  and are fun, but frankly they are useless.

When not running for office, you won’t find  a Second Amendment Paper mache candidate within miles of anything guns or Second Amendment.

Free Speech on Campus In Our Lifetime? Not If They Can Help It.

I stumbled across an article by Fred Lucas titled, “Supreme Court decisions could curb campus censorship.”

Lucas shares some insights into recent court decisions that might reach their tendrils into the collection and use of student activity fees and the relationship between those expenditures and viewpoint discrimination. Fingers crossed but every path leading to that goal will require a grueling uphill battle.

Given that my second go round at being an adjunct Professor starts tomorrow, my interest was piqued when I saw this over at Instapundit (full story from The College Fix after the jump):

HIGHER EDUCATION BUBBLE UPDATE: My professor canceled office hours because KU allows concealed carry, says he ‘no longer feels safe.’

What a wuss – and a failure on the part of a College Professor that is supposed to base themselves on known facts and not on emotions and “feelz”. The fact is that someone who has a CCW (State paperwork allowing concealed carry) is FAR more law-abiding than police.

Who Will Be The Next Mollie Tibbetts?

I posted what I like to call “bait” on the Grok Facebook page. It was two meme’s someone made making a point or two about the tragic murder of Iowa girl-next-door Mollie Tibbetts at the hands of an illegal alien. The tender-footed progressive-leaning morally-mother superiors can never contain themselves.

The gist of at least one objection is that GraniteGrok is standing on the shoulders of a dead girl.

I don’t think so. We’re standing quite squarely on the failed priorities of Democrats.

Yup, it’s time for our first Grokster / Readers Meetup.  The schedule is set – we will be holding it at the Area 23 Pub in Concord, NH. I visited it yesterday – not the largest of places but certainly a relaxed area for us all to meet and greet.  Several Groksters have already said they’ll be attending so I’m hoping y’all will join us.  It will be, as you all told me, “lightly agenda’d”. $5 cover charge and we’ll get some light snacks out for you (liquids to imbibe will be on you. Democrats Couldn’t ‘Find’ Enough Votes – Troy Balderson Wins US House Seat.

That special election in Ohio that was going to be the next “final nail in the coffin of the Trump ascendency” or whatever his downfall is being labeled as this week, didn’t happen. But it started out grand. The media was very excited about how close it was. Al Franken-esque “look what I found mom” ballot discoveries were going to shift the tide. And those absentee ballots…Democrat victory was nigh.

Police in Wilmette, Illinois recently considered charges against a mother for letting her 8-year-old daughter walk the family dog around the block unsupervised.  Predictably, a lot of people are reacting with incredulity.  ‘How can something like this even happen?’ they want to know.

Quick Thought: Not so much “free market”, eh Tom, when you want others to pay for “weeding your garden”?

So, Tom Thomson (son of Gov. Thomson of “low spending yields low taxes” fame) who for years was the honorary chair of AFP-NH which argues for Free Markets, has decided to go the Full Monty and arguing that electric rate payers (that would be you and I) should pay for his timber to be cut (e.g., override the biomass vetoes by Gov Sununu on SB 446 and SB 365 which would promulgate the over $2 Billion overcharges to keep the North Country Biomass subsidies for electrical generation plants that turn crap wood into overpriced electricity).  Sure, Free Market until it comes to be “get me some” and have Government continue to institute a undeserved and mandated “tax” on the rest of us:

Hey, go weed your own dang garden, Tom, and leave my wallet alone.  If you have any intellectual honesty at all, stop privatizing your profits and socializing your risk.  You can’t find folks to buy your timber?  Too bad – that’s the risk of being in business: reward AND failure. Did the New Hampshire Department of Justice Hack the 2018 Election?

clean-electionsIf you have been following New Hampshire politics this year, you know that House Bill 1264 became law.  HB 1264 is intended to end the undemocratic practice of allowing out-of-state residents to vote in New Hampshire elections.

Once HB 1264 becomes effective the act of voting in New Hampshire will be deemed a declaration by the voter that he or she is a New Hampshire resident.  This, obviously, will dissuade drive-by voting (which massively favors Democrats).

Note what I just wrote:  “[o]nce HB 1264 becomes effective.”

Is Republican Terry Wolf a “Threat” to New Hampshire?

The congressional races get all the attention, but there are several “other” important primaries coming up. We’ve weighed in on a few including Jane Cormier in EC4 and Kevin Avard’s Pro-Peggy Gilmour Republican challenger. Another in need of your attention is State Senate District 9 between Dan Hynes and Terry Wolf. Dan and I have disagreements, but he isn’t a Democrat in sheep’s clothing.

That would (ironically) be Wolf.
