Well, we are 9 months into the political response to the virus. Data is showing alarming trends. Yes, Covid is out there but so too are drug overdoses and suicide. People, especially young people, those who are least at risk from the virus are forcibly cut off from friends, families, and communities.
These Are Not the Results of Experts at Anything but Failure
If the title looks familiar, it’s a sentence from this post, published a few hours earlier. The point? The people holding the reins to the public health trumps all sleigh are lousy at the job.
Poland Proposes Free Speech Court to Protect Social Media Content from Censorship
Poland has a new law under consideration. It’s simple. If someone publishes something that does not violate Poland’s Laws, Social Media platforms like Facebook and Twitter can’t censor it or deplatform the speaker. If they do and lose, it could cost them up to 2 million dollars.
Hammers and Nails: Stop Treating COVID As If it is Equally Dangerous to Everybody
In the October issue of Imprimis, Jay Bhattachary, a is a Professor of Medicine at Stanford University and a co-author of the Great Barrington Declaration, explores a Compassionate ANTI-COVID strategy. It’s a great read, and he makes a point that stood out as one we make almost daily.
Facebook Doodlings: “Which Step Do You Think We Are On?”
Not one of my “doodlings” this time, but I can tell you that the FB post with the following graphic certainly showed a lot of, well, the nuttiness, ranting, and partisan snipping that goes on in a closed FB group that has “Politics” as part of its name.
Why Did the FAA Secure Air Space over the Nashville RV Explosion Site?
On Christmas morning, an RV played an evacuation announcement before exploding. The blast did damage to several buildings, including one used by AT&T that took out communications equipment. And now the Federal Aviation Administration has declared a No-Fly Zone over part of Nashville, Tennessee.
Prager U – The 1619 Project is Just Another lame Attempt to Rewrite American History.
I haven’t written a lot about the 1619 Project sponsored by the NYT (writer(s)). The plan was to be as an emphasis to what the Black Lives Matter movement has been (wrongly) preaching. That America has been racist, is racist, and will ALWAYS be racist.

More of This Please: Rural Communities Tell Their Gov. to Pound Sand on COVID19 Orders
It is an odd thing to live in a state with the motto Live Free or Die, with so many people doing the exact opposite. Giving up freedom on the word of experts whose own data contradicts their fearmongering about the risk fo death. It’s not universal. We have a resistance. What we need is more of this.

Data Point – Well, When You Sell a Lousy Product That No One Trusts….
I know some sensitive readers will say it is wrong to celebrate people losing their livelihoods, but I think, like a restaurant that makes its customers sick with bad food, the media deserves this.
I could agree to this! Er, maybe

I’m Not Anti-Mask, You Can Wear One – They Just Don’t “Stop the Spread”
In mid-November, I related a conversation I overheard where someone said that Republicans thought the virus wasn’t real. Fake news. I explained that this was not true. They believe that the virus is real; it’s the political response “as a preventative” that is fake.
Science? … Science You Say
There is a gap between America’s scientists and public health professionals. Science is supposed to guide decision-making. But that’s what should happen… not what is happening.
