I was chatting with New Hampshire Conservative Majority Project Chairman (NHCMP) Kevin McHugh earlier today when he told me that the NHCMP is endorsing Jane Cormier in the Republican Primary for Executive Council District 4.
NHCMP is a grassroots coalition working to elect principled Republicans who stand for low taxes, individual liberty, free markets, limited government, and most importantly, the U.S. and NH constitutions.
Thanks to the 471 participants who took the time to cast votes in our latest GrokPoll: Abortion in New Hampshire.

I made two attempts to boost this poll on Facebook. It was a genuine attempt to get as wide an audience as possible. A bigger broader sample. The audience was ‘New Hampshire.’

A long time member of the NH House of Representatives, he was acknowledged to be one of the foremost experts on both the US and NH Constitutions here in the State of NH and with his first post, he does not disappoint by bringing to light some responsibilities that many of us didn’t know we had – including our elected officials!

New Hampshire Governors, like every elected officer of the State and many appointed officers take an oath to uphold The Constitution of the State of New Hampshire, and the Constitution for the United States of America. However, I would wager most do not know these documents to well enough to know the full scope of or limitations upon the office they hold. Part 1, Article 24 of the Constitution of the State of New Hampshire proclaims:
“A well regulated militia is the proper, natural, and sure defense, of a State.”
This sentiment is echoed in the Second Amendment to the Constitution for the United States:
Just over a month ago (right before a Monday Holiday travel weekend), the left was freaking out over the price of a gallon of gas. It was rising, and a Democrat wasn’t president—fuel for political propaganda.
A Senate is typically the single biggest barrier to prosperity in government. State Senators are few in number, lobbied heavily, prone to moderate their positions and easily influenced by donors.
So when I reviewed AFP New Hampshire’s 2018 Legislative Scorecard and found no A+ grades and only two A’s in a Republican majority State Senate, I was not the least bit surprised.
We liked Scott Pruitt. He was our kind of EPA Administrator. The kind that does more to get the bureaucracy out of the way of the states and the people and their rainwater runoff, ponds, and so on.
The left, inclined as they are toward Federal oversight of everything (because you can’t trust all the states to agree to your central planning regime) hated him.
So when their relentless efforts to purge him bore fruit, they were happy until they realized his successor, the Deputy Administrator, Andrew Wheeler is probably less of what they want than was Pruitt.

You probably missed this because we did. It came and went amidst the daily bustle of hobby-blogging around jobs and family and life. Blame politics because as it has increasingly encroached on our hobbies, jobs, family, and lives, we’ve been here to chronicle it.

The Timberlane Regional School District (SAU55) has become the poster-child for taxpayer abuse in New Hampshire. Lead by the Earl of Metzler the towns of Sandown, Danville, Plaistow, and Atkinson have been plunged into an abusive relationship with political thugs. Donna Green explains the latest.
In an illegal non-public, the Timberlane School Board voted unanimously (8-0) to use $20,000 of Timberlane’s surplus money to dig SAU 55 out of its accounting hole of shame. A damning audit revealed the need for remedial work in the keeping-track-of-our -money department at SAU 55. The solution? Hire a consultant!
The annual CNT Taxpayer Reunion Picnic has a Straw poll and with it being a midterm election and the crowd being Republican/Libertarian/Conservative the results are a great litmus of who this group (Highly likely Republican primary voters) support for November.

The legislature passes a policy that drives up the cost of a product or service to keep a favored business or industry afloat. Without this protection money, those who benefit may no longer be able to enjoy the lifestyle to which they’ve become accustomed.
This is the story of the green energy business. New Hampshire’s biggest player in this redistribution scheme is the timber industry which peddles “low grade” leftovers to biomass plants that convert it into expensive electricity the police-state forces on ratepayers.
Governor Sununu recently vetoed two bills passed by the legislature to foment this money laundering scheme and the “former” recipients of that plunder are not happy.
North Carolinians For Immigration Reform and Enforcement (NCFire) is a private group that combs through state and local crime data. They document the child sexual assaults charges/arrests of undocumented illegal aliens in their state. They do not assert that they find them all which is shocking when you look at what they uncover.
NCFire has recorded over 400 cases of child sexual assault or rape by illegals since January 2018, and over 800 last year.
How much support is there for abortion in New Hampshire? Democrats want us to believe that the majority of Granite Stater’s support the practice. Gubernatorial Candidate Steve “Take another Step to the Left” Marchand is convinced of this. Elsewhere I’ve seen more nuanced responses.
Most of the folks I know are committed to protecting pre-born life with few exceptions, like to save the life of the mother. But some support abortion up to 20 weeks. Others are indifferent to the life question but don’t want tax dollars supporting the practice.
What’s your position?
A recent NBC poll reports that 62% of Americans believe the vote on Mr. Trump’s next nominee for the U.S. Supreme Court should happen before the November Election.
The vast majority of Republicans surveyed, 85 percent, said the Senate’s vote on the nominee should take place before the election. Roughly six in 10 Independents, or 61 percent, agreed. However, more than half of Democrats, 55 percent, believe the voting on a new justice should wait.
I use the word hate in my title in the context in which it would be used by Democrats were Republicans engaged in some advertised priority they had spun as doing damage to some “protected” class of persons.
In this case, the object of the Left’s abuse is The Poor™ (often referred to inaccurately as ‘working families’), who are being herded around yet another progressive false idol. The higher minimum wage or living wage is a golden calf whose worship is sold as the path to better economic outcomes when it, in fact, delivers exactly the opposite.
Not a lot of votes on this one but the overall consensus of those who took the time is that they would “support an effort to get the courts out of the educational funding morass.”
Brave souls, knowing as they do that Constitutional amendments – heck, Constitutions – are not what they once were.
To that end, there were a few comments added in the ‘other’ field which I’ve shared on the jump.
Chuck Schumer is reported to have asked President Trump to consider Obama’s nominee, Judge Merrick Garland, as a possible replacement for Justice Kennedy.
Sen. Majority Leader Mitch McConnell nailed the response to that report.
New Hampshire used to be ‘owned’ by railroads, or so the story goes. These days it’s the hospital/insurance cartels. Their influence shapes policy in Concord and buys votes from elected officials and even officeholders whose eyes wander toward DC.
Money talks and the Cartel’s got a lot of it.
But Iowa and Florida just put new laws in force that creates options for doctors and patients looking to put the free market to work on health care costs, and New Hampshire should take a look.
Yesterday, HotAir! reported that Wal-Mart, that place where they take all those “people you see at” pictures, was selling clothing (online at least) with the message ‘Impeach 45.’ I guess you won’t be seeing anyone at Wal-Mart buying or wearing one. They Pulled the product page.
