St. Paul Minnesota’s liberal mayor (Melvin Carter) has decided that there is no money in the budget for fireworks on the 4th of July.
As I’ve considered the budgetary priorities we manage across our city in the first year of my administration, I’ve decided I can’t in good conscience support spending tax dollars on a fireworks display in Saint Paul this year.
The Truth About Guns (H/T to Susan Olsen) is reporting on the most recent Major Cities Chiefs Association (MCCA) report on violent crime in major US cities. And unless you are a liberal water-carrier not a lot of explanation for this is needed.

CBS News has learned that D.C. Circuit Court Judge Brett Kavanaugh and Chicago Circuit Court Judge Amy Coney Barrett are currently Mr. Trump’s leading contenders for the appointment to the nation’s highest court.

If we had listened to Never Trump, we’d have voted for Felonia Milhous von Pantsuit and we would not only have Merrick Garland (or worse) on the SCOTUS but now she’d be picking another pinko who agrees with the lib bloc that the First Amendment has hitherto unknown asterisks that prevent conservatives from using it, that a bunch of other rights that aren’t in the Constitution actually are, and that the Second Amendment stuff about not infringing on our right to keep and bear arms really means libs can totally infringe on our right to keep and bear arms.

SeacoastOnline reports that New Hampshire Governor Chris Sununu would support an effort to get the courts out of the educational funding morass.
“The only way to undo (the current system) is a constitutional amendment, which I would fight for any day of the week – as soon as we get a Legislature that will actually pass one,” said Sununu. “I’m all for it. And even just amending to just ‘the Legislature decides.’ Your representatives, the most representative body on the planet… decide amongst themselves what the formula is, how the funds get dispersed and ensure there is an adequate education.”

High heat presents a danger to everyone but if you’ve had a cardiac event you have to pay a bit more attention to the temperature. Medications that slow heart rate reduce the efficiency with which blood flow can help dissipate body heat. Others exaggerate the body’s response to heat. And at no point do you want to make a damaged heart work harder to compensate for excessive exposure to high temperatures.

Remember “Occupy Wall Street?” How about “Black Lives Matter (BLM)?” “The Women’s March?” Do you know what they have in common? They are all progressive movements within the radical left crafted to create media sensationalism so that so-called main-stream Democrat politicians can use their ‘outcry’ to push far-left policy prescriptions.

The digital ink was barely dry on this post when what to my wandering eyes did appear but a mysteriously funded left-leaning campaign finance “reform” group attacking AFP-NH for what amounted to following Campaign Finance Laws.
Open Democracy(OD) is a left-leaning affair pushing the left-leaning policy ideas of leftists activist groups and just happens to be an issues advocacy group just like AFP. But Open Democracy supports forced union dues and opposes right to work so when AFP asked voters to ask some useful idiots in the NH House (who happen to be Republicans) about their opposition to Right to Work, OD yelled ‘fire’ in a crowded campaign finance reform move theater.

Yesterday Dover, New Hampshire raised the age for buying tobacco products to 21. So, beware to anyone under 21 in possession of tobacco. If you wander onto the Dover plantation, you’ll be breaking the law.
The Garrison City will become the first municipality in the state to raise the age to legally possess, use and purchase tobacco products in Dover to 21 years old.
The City Council voted to approve the ordinance change on a 6-1-2 vote, with Ward 4 Councilor Marcia Gasses voting no, Mayor Karen Weston recusing, and Ward 6 Councilor Matthew Keane absent from the meeting.

New Hampshire is the highest-ranked state for children’s well-being, according to a national survey released on Wednesday.
The Annie E. Casey Foundation’s Kids Count report, based on data from 2016, ranks New Hampshire first overall and second in economic well-being, with drops in the number of children living in households with high cost burdens and children living in poverty.
