Since the details of the on-g0ing Battle for the NH GOP Bank Accounts were reported to me and I’ve been posting them, someone else has been sending out mass emails from an email address called “OccupyNHGOP@gmail.com” to what seems to be ALL of the State Committee Members.  Often, the emails have links back to posts that ARE on GraniteGrok.  I have read them and so have the other Groksters who are also State Committee Members.  A guessing game has ensued as to who OccupyNHGOP really is (just like we do with our prodigious, and sometimes grammar stretching, commenter C.dog.e.dog).  We still don’t know in either case.

Yeah, they let me speak as well and I was asked to speak on “self-responsibility” in terms of “Honoring Your Oath”.  Unlike most that spoke, I gave mine as a locally elected official in my town – and yes, I paid attention to it twice and I still do today.  I tried to do what I did mindful of that Oath, for once a promise is given, it should be kept.  Given that it was handling other peoples’ money as a Budget Committee member, I often thought of these (“It is not mine to give”: here, here, here, and here).

WMURNo, Jimmie Pindell of WMUR, this was not a gun rally (even as TMEW reported that WMUR called it one; I guess they really didn’t listen to what Jeff Chidester said it WAS and what it was NOT.  Simply, they either didn’t REALLY cover the rally, only bothered to show up for a snippet of the rally, or just plain made it up.

“Honor Your Oath” rally – Andrew Hemingway, NH State Rep Jane Cormier, Jim Hazard (Oath Keepers)

Honoring your oath – at least on the Right, it is a recurring and important element that seems to be rather out of style with many.  Oh sure, we see the lip service, but how DARE we actually hold them to their word!  Their word, their bond – something that should be so basic, but so old fashion in today’s political environment.  After all, it seems that the Progressive way is “the means justifies the end”.  After all, go READ Saul Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals – the Bible for folks like Obama – he is quite honest in saying that Morals are of no consequence in the obtaining in Power.

And when we bring it up and condemn the Left for believing in it, they simply resort to ad hominem attacks – for there is NO logical or intellectual argument that can be made for prostituting your name for some political advantage.  We on the Right see this behavior as disgusting; the Left seems to take it as a badge of honor (er, “I did not have sex with that woman” hasn’t had a deletorius effect on one man’s political correr, right?).

“Honor Your Oath” rally – Donna Murphy, NH State Reps. Dan Dumaine and Al Baldasaro

We first met Donna Murphy at the .223 Day of Resistance; she surprised me AFTER she said “One Million Moms” because I thought I knew what was coming next – and got floored with “against Gun Control” – you can see the micro-interview we did here.  Her goal was to have actually had the chance to speak at THAT rally but the speaker list had already been completed.  I have to hand it to her – if at first you don’t succeed, try, try again.  And she did – a really big pink sign will most likely get you noticed and it worked with Jeff Chidester!

NH State Reps Dan Dumaine and Al Baldasaro both spoke as well.  As prior Marines, they are not too happy with folks that break their bond as they know that in the situations that faced, someone breaking their word can mean someone losing their life.  Promises made are to be held sacrosanct – they lived or died by that.  So if you think you detect just a smidge (er, boatload?) of scorn for the NH House Reps that violate their Oaths to be faithful to the Law of the Land, THE social contracts that we agree to – the Constitution of the US (and NH).

“Honor Your Oath” Rally – NH State Reps John Hikel and Dan Itse

Verified Complaint of Breach of Oath of Office and Conspiracy against Rights

At the rally yesterday, the next speaker was NH State Rep. John Hikel.  As the above line (and link) shows, he along with Jack Kimball signed the complaint that was delivered to the correct authorities on Thursday. The reason?  If you swear an oath, there is the expectation that you will keep your promise as there is still great emphasis put on the phrase “A man’s word is his bond”.  I have been writing about Trust lately and in the case of our elected leaders, we do expect some semblance of acknowledgement of the purpose of their service and that is “we will not violate the Constitution and its values”.  That, of all things, should be the minimum of expectations of actions by them.

Why should we not keep folks accountable?  For if you break your bond, what good are you?  If you cannot keep your promises (and yes, we can excuse and forgive the ocassional “Oopsies!”), what good are you?  And if you are merely mouthing the words and your imaginary fingers crossed behind your back as you do this, why shouldn’t we give you a collective (um, one of the few times that word makes sense) “SCREW YOU” and have you suffer the consequence of LYING?  If you CANNOT or WILL, then we should remove you, yes?  This is not a partisan thing – for I believe there are both Republicans AND Democrats who have failed to uphold the basics!

And yes, WMUR’s Jimmie Pindell, this is also part of the answer to your question!

I am in receipt of your email and, as of yesterday, your snail mail letter.  In order to show good faith in this matter, I have a question for you.  From your hard copy letter (I took the liberty of scanning it in as the quality of the PDF attachment to your email was of such low quality, I scarcely took it seriously; given the size of the Hearst Corporation, it must simply have been an off day for the poor IT tech you called in for rectification), I would ask that you would turn your attention to this snippet:

If my kids were still young, Dr. Harris-Perry, you’d get a blast of “cold, dead hands” from me!  Wait until you come to my house still thinking MY kids are YOUR kids.  With antics like this, I no longer have to wonder where the Village Idiot went.  Problem is, there are lots of folks, especially those in Education and the rest of Government do believe exactly what she is saying – these other Village Idiots believe children belong to us all rather than to the Parents that gave birth to them.  Sure, we who have kids want to do everything possible for them – that called ‘being responsible’.  If you make the decision to have them (or, made the decision to engage in an action that would result in a child, intended or not), that is the natural outcome – you put their best interests well in front of your own.  To me, this is the essence of traditional marriage – yes, I and my wife loved each when we said “I Do’s” but we also realized that when the time to have children came, our needs were a far, far second compared to theirs.  NEVER did I believe that ANYONE else was responsible for them.

Honoring your Oath? Others seem to believe your oath to the Constitution is not mere words. Here’s another one: Accountability

Accountability – a most hated word in politics.  Oh sure, whoever the Political Class doesn’t like will be held to such (after all, they wield the power).  But they never like it when the masses play the “turnabout fair play” game (or journalists, from what I seem, but I repeat myself as many in journalism are now card carrying members of the Political Class).  Oh to be sure, we hear the high minded platitudes about “elections are when voters hold us accountable”  – but some don’t like it when we do.  However, what to do during the “in-between” times when recalls are not an option and you think that someone has violated their promise to voters?  Hmm, this seems to be novel (reformatted, emphasis mine):

NH GOP Executive Board Meeting – Monday, April 15th (appropriate day?) – but not at the regular place

The Executive Board meeting meets on a regular basis and it is my understanding that it is open to all State Committee Members (at the very least).  Well, I’ve never gone to one but have been told that it has enough for the E-Board member and about 10 or so more.  Thus, when Jack Kimball was ousted (resigned), it was held in one of the Holiday Inn conference rooms (and it was pretty well packed).  With all of the brouhaha happening concerning the NH GOP Chair Jennifer Horn / NH GOP Treasurer Robert Scott (tax liens vs Signatory authority on bank accounts), I think they gotta get a bigger room for that 6/6:30pm meeting)

Sidenote: I’ve heard from a lot of people concerning the Coos County vote of no confidence in NH GOP Jennifer Horn, most agree with it but a number have complained that it was not “properly noticed” – including from the Area 1 Vice Chair Vicki Schwaegler.  Well, I dryly note that on the NH GOP Calender, at the time of this post, the E-Board (on which she is a member) meeting has not been “properly noticed“.

No, I am not one of those people!

Hate’em, hate’m, hate’m!  Yes, I’m done and brought them to the Post Office to send them to the IRS (certified / registered). Look, as a Conservative, I do believe that Government is necessary:

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.

 That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed,

As our Declaration declares (yeah, I know), the main purpose of Government is NOT to rule over us but to protect pre-existing Rights that come, not as a gift or as a decree from Government, but simply as an attribute of being a human.  Thus, I have no problem in paying for a Limited Government that does exactly that, at the Federal level, and leaves me the heck alone the rest of the time. A government that protects me against the clutches of others – including Government.  Nowhere in the Declaration or the Constitution does it say that Government is the scientist that gets to use us for social experimentation or that it is supposed to shove ‘guide’ us to some dystopian idea of their version of Utopia.  So I pay, grudgingly.  Like a skinflint.  And I hope the people that spend it have the same outlook (like I tried to have when on my local Budget Committee).  Sad to say, I doubt it (when often, on that same BudComm, I saw some act no different than a teenager with a “nothing on it” credit card that has their name on it).  Like these folks:

NH GOP hierarchy – damage control: Oh no, that wasn’t REALLY a vote (er, was it?)

Last night I put up this post – a Presser by the Coos County Republican Committee sent out by Eric Catman, the Coos County Chair:
