A taste of Saul Alinsky from our commenters – heh!

July 3, 2020 Skip

Our commenters can be rather amusing at times even if their comments have a bit of a barb to them. This is sort of like the meme I saw on Facebook a while ago (no, I can’t find it) going along the lines of: We HAVE to put in Voter ID – We can’t allow … Read more

Quick Thought – it means that the US has returned to the Rule of Kings

July 3, 2020 Skip

This caught my eye: The Supreme Court held today that President Obama’s DACA program is clearly illegal. That should have been the end of the inquiry. If a president can’t undo the illegal acts of his predecessor, that can lead only to ever-expanding executive power.https://t.co/yCpa4mUdRe — Mike Lee (@SenMikeLee) June 18, 2020 Let me repeat … Read more

Notable Quote – Dan Dickneite

Work and reward for work is essential to the human spirit. There is nothing that can replace the satisfaction and pride felt by someone who has done a good job, or the accolades that come from observers of a job well done, regardless of the task at hand. -Dan Dickneite (on Facebook)

FB Doodlings – Black Lives Matter Event – Gilford, New Hampshire – Part 2

July 2, 2020 Skip

As I noted, Black Lives Matter has come to my hamlet and it is literally tearing the town into three parts: Those that see it at the surface level as being goodness Those that have done a lot more research into what BLM, what it really stands for, and its organization And a third part … Read more

(Video) Black Lives Matter Event – Gilford, New Hampshire – Part 1

July 2, 2020July 2, 2020 Skip

Actually, there are prequel posts to write about this that will be rather “reflective” and will demonstrate why I keep saying that Progressives want to silence people while I want them to keep “talking, and talking, and talking some more.”

Well, at least it is starting to look that way: June private payrolls rose 2.37 million and there was a big positive revision for May, ADP says. “For the month, hiring was especially strong in the pivotal leisure and hospitality industry, which took the biggest hit as measures aimed at curbing the coronavirus spread meant shutting … Read more

Emphasis mine: The Internet is having a bit of fun with Rand Paul’s claim during a Tuesday Senate committee hearing that “We shouldn’t presume that a group of experts somehow knows what’s best” (here’s Tommy Beer with more). After all, they’re the experts. Shouldn’t we get out of the way and do as the experts tell … Read more

New addition to the ‘Grok “Stealing Campaign Signs” Hall of Shame: Jim Babcock of Gilford – Part 5

Thanks to Grokster Steve: ….but professional TransDemocrat Jennifer Horn (presenting as a Democrat but registered as a Republican) NICE “turn of word” – TransDemocrat. She doesn’t have the decency to register as a Dem to be intellectually honest. “Honest” – does she even know the meaning of the word? Or what “Intellectually Honest”, either? But … Read more

So the National Democrat Party believes July 4th = White Supremacy Day?

July 1, 2020 Skip

The Democrats, disguised as Black Lives Matter and other disgruntled rich white kids without a sense of American history and those who just like to destroy other peoples stuff (but I repeat myself), have finally decided to be really open as to what they really think. First, it was just about Confederate soldier statues. Then … Read more

Blogline of the Day – First they’ve gotten History wrong, gotten morality wrong…

I’m sorry – this is NOT how local Government works. Both TMEW and I were sitting on the couch and she went “WHAT!” which immediately caught my attention. She started to read this from the Gilford Steamer article. I’ve reformatted it with some emphasis by me:

Well, I’m not letting the speed of return responses from my Right To Know requests get the better of me yet although I AM pleased that they aren’t being slow rolled. To recap, what I asked for: Revenues to date for this fiscal year (GL account line item for the last budget process: 01-3404-917) Fees … Read more

This was a more lengthy Right To Know I sent to SAU 73 Superintendent Kirk Beitler than what I sent to our Town Clerk / Tax Collector (and modeled after Grokster Ann Marie’s one to SAU 16 Superintendent David Ryan). And answer he did.

Blogline of the Day – Giving the Babylon Bee a Run for its Money

Satire is starting to be a losing gig – the events of the day are often “worse” or at least outdo anything that the Babylon Bee or The Onion (two widely known satire sites dealing with politics and culture). Don’t think that either one of them can beat this.

I had previously issued a number of Right To Know demands of Gilford’s Budget Committee, Selectmen, Town Clerk/Tax Collector, and School Board. “Those who erase history have no past – and no future.”

Over at Weekend Pundit, DCE has a proper observation of the NOW in politics (emphasis mine): Seeing the increasing attack upon history by overly-sensitive know-nothings, I am dismayed at the level of ignorance being displayed by those wishing to erase history. Data Point – US Daily Deaths, 7 Day Average (Wu Flu)

June 28, 2020 Skip

Once again, the U.S. is undergoing a media-driven COVID-19 scare after a “spike” in infections. But as we noted earlier this week, the number of cases depends on the amount of testing. The key gauge to watch is deaths. They’ve been falling since April, and there’s strong reason to believe they’re lower than the official … Read more

Why can’t people just leave other peoples’ property alone? Especially the Post Office?
