Blogline of the Day – Giving the Babylon Bee a Run for its Money

Satire is starting to be a losing gig – the events of the day are often “worse” or at least outdo anything that the Babylon Bee or The Onion (two widely known satire sites dealing with politics and culture). Don’t think that either one of them can beat this.

“Protesters request police presence for ‘defund the police’ rally, citing their safety”

I’m not even sure what to add to the HUGE Irony contained in that headline. The backstory:

Over the weekend, a video of a police officer went viral. In that video, an unidentified police officer explains that he was called to provide security for protesters. The irony, the officer explained, is that the protesters requested police presence for a…wait for it…”defund the police” rally.

“So I come in this morning and we’re informed there’s gonna be a protest to ‘defund the police.’ Well, that’s fine, I like protests,” the officer explained. “Except they requested a police presence, you know, for their safety, at the ‘defund the police’ event,” he continued. “I s** you not.”

It was not clear where the officer worked, as he had removed his badge from his uniform, presumably so that his location could not be identified.

Like all of the BLM/Antifa driven “Autonomous zones” that were to be a “kumbaya” or “Summer of Love” recreations of Haight-Ashbury, each one of them has degenerated into various kinds of crime: assault, rape, theft, drugs, and murder.

Sorry, but the officer’s smirk just says it all.
