He told me that he was not going to waste his time discussing the vote with me. Oh yeah … and he also said that people who blog are those who are “ruining” the party.

Email Doodlings – Conservatives should do Press Interviews – but watch the “how”

Kiddie TricycleBUMPED/UPDATED based on my attendance at a training session where I was helping a couple of nights ago: from 1/5/13: “Kiddie tricycle riding journalist met up against a tank with a laughing blogger at the wheel”.  Read the bottom of this post – it’s my description of Steve being interviewed by a cub reporter that thought she was hot stuff. Given that it is campaign season and a lot of NH folks may be running for the very first time, my “How To” words still hold true and they work.  It comes down to this – if a “journalist” want to interview, ALWAYS record it.  Always, always always.

A good Conservative friend on an email list, well known in NH, refuses to do press interviews.  He’s had nothing but gotcha quotes / twisted quotes as a result, so he now leaves them twisting in the wind as they desperately try to get him to speak.  There are some that do try for the ensnaring quote simply because of their ideological outlook – after all, what Glen Reynolds of Instapundit says of them is often true:

No, this is not an ad by Libertarian COuntry on the ‘Grok.  Rather, it’s a reminder of how far stalwart Liberty loving Americans (as opposed to the Berni-bros and Ocasio-Cortez’ers slouching to Socialism) were willing to stand up to abusers and oppressors.  Taxation for a limited Government is a necessary evil – having more taken from you just so that those in power believe you aren’t doing the right things with your money so they HAVE to take it from you is both insulting – and theft. The fact that our “public morality” has been so perverted by Progressives such as Steve Marchand, Mark Fernald, and Molly Kelly (just to name three Socialists running as Democrats – but I repeat myself) should be frightening.  You see, no matter HOW much they take from you, it is never enough.

Both balls into the Left’s pool table left side pockets – a two-fer in marking Marchand as a true extremist with his anti-traditional American Exceptionalism stances and given that Molly Kelly is just to his right on the political spectrum, being called Goldwater probably raised her blood pressure a decade or so.  Let’s face it, even the RINOs to her right have a cow being called such.  Well played!

Steve MacDonald began railing against the “No Labels” group when it appeared on the scene and correctly calling it out for being a group camouflage for RINOs that felt at home in “No Labels”because it validated their No Principles stances.  It served Democrats by allowing them to rub elbows with the RINOs laughing inside going “heh, these guys are giving me cover” until it was time for them to tell their Leftist brethren “here, hold my beer” and pop up showing the labels we put on them were genuinely earned as they shucked off that camo netting:

I Get Stuff – the NH Firearms Coalition threat: fill out our Survey or you’re ANTI-GUN!

NHFC Anti-gun if no responseThis is just plain stupidity, tone deafness, and threatening all at the same time.  The NH Firearms Coalition (“NHFC”) has been sending out their survey (of course, isn’t every political / advocacy group?) to candidates running for office.  I have no problem with this at all and I’ve been advising Conservative / libertarian candidates not only which ones to fill out and which to ignore but also with answers to questions on some of the surveys because the questions are clear for what they are looking for with those answers.  The problem is that sometimes, a possible ally of the group has a more nuanced answer than what is allowed on the on-line surveys that have set answers that clearly don’t reflect someone’s real values – and the candidates I help aren’t going to lie simply to get a recommendation or keep from being slammed for a “wrong” answer.

But the NHFC has really stepped into it with the above image – I took the top of their Letter and combined it with the bottom. It is that “sign off” that is really a kiss off.  I’m ticked over it and *I* have a larger voice with GraniteGrok than they do; they need to be called out over it. Seriously, calling out potential allies as anti-gun simply for not returning a survey?  This is nutcase territory and Alan Rice should be pelted with eggs, rotten tomatoes, and dead fish over this bone-headed threat.

Sidenote: oh dear, how low has my alma mater dropped in rigor.  They ought to be disavowing her forthwith but I guess the Howard Zinn-sim, Noam Chomskyesque, and the other hard core radical professors have gotten worse over the years. As I continue with her here, I am gratified by my decisions over the years not to give my hard earned monies to this spawning den of everything I find wrong.

Let’s see I have this straight – Injection needles for drugs good, plastic straws for toddlers and young children bad?

Yeah, I think I have that down pat.  All over the nation in the bigger cities I read of “needle exchange programs” for people using illicit drugs who then drop them all over the place, including where young children play in parks and playground and schoolyards.  There’s even talk of setting up “shoot up rooms” so that illegal drug users can shoot up “in safety” – all the Progressives are perfectly fine with this. You know, “helping” those that are doing criminal acts so as to do more of it.  Hey, “No Stigma!” is all the rage.  It’s like taxes in reverse – tax that what you want less of while removing yet another brick in the Wall That Is Society; it’s just flashing yet another green light for yet more bad behavior. Add in condemnation for us that rightfully call out these accessories to illegal behavior for being wrong and you certainly get more of it.

But use a plastic bendy straw with which to suck on a cool libation…oooh, that’s BAD! You Polluter you, you hate the Earth, you hate turtles who get stuck with straws up their noses

In the same way that the Union Leader decided to change the common language concerning past and current, The Laconia Daily Sun tried to deflect from their bad wordsmithing by blaming it on others.  To wit, this article with “assault rifle” (reformatted, emphasis mine):
