Notable Quote: Adam Smith – The Avarice of ‘Princes’

…for in every country of the world, I believe, the avarice and injustice of princes and sovereign states, abusing the confidence of their subjects, have by degrees diminished the real quantity of metal, which had been originally contained in their coins. … By means of those operations, the princes and sovereign states which performed them … Read more

Remember Remember the 6th of November The day we sent Obama Packing get to the polls and check off the rolls for liberty and freedom are lacking. OK. It’s a bit rough.  I suspect you can all do better and by all means please do. (Yes, I have absconded Guy Fawkes day+1 and the quote … Read more

Perfect timing, NH Rep David Campbell – you prove my point

I just put up this post up and it ends like this:

Our single reason why is this: he [Obama]is the single worst threat to TEA Party ideals: Free Markets (he wants Government directed markets), Constitutionally bound and limited Government, and fiscal responsibility in that Government.  These are complete opposite of the current crop of Democrat Socialists.

And that is why they fear us.

That the NH Dems are calling the TEA Party, Free Staters and 9/12ers extreme is simple: we represent and “cling” to the values and the words in the Constitution.  We are their worst nightmare as we are the Gate that stops the country’s march to complete Progressivism.  And then this came floating in:

Apparently [Democrat NH State Representative] David Campbell thinks we are a bunch of nut jobs in the NH house……The conservative “Bat-signal” is requested gentlemen.

While responding to a “Grok-signal” might be more appropriate (heh!),  we stand by our pledge: “… fly to the aid of rock-ribbed freedom loving and liberty seeking / leaning folk anywhere!…”.  So, I went and left these bon mots for Rep Dave – and an offer:

Extreme?  Really The First remark to be made is “Yo, Dave”?  Are you forgetting that in 2010, the voters (er, that would be ALL NH voters) finally had enough of the Democrat agenda and threw the majority of your butts out of the House and most of your butts out of the NH Senate, and completely out of the Executive Council.

So, wanna keep yakking about who was judged to be “extreme”?

Here’s a great example of what’s causing Republican angst lately – and a fact staring down the NH Dems

Tim has a great chart about political registration – while it is true that it is not all roses blooming for the Republicans, it looks downright nasty for the Democrats.  And using that as the foundation, look at this from (yes, again) The Corner:

Obama Three Points Ahead

Among likely voters, President Obama is at 50 percent and Mitt Romney at 47 percent in a new CNN poll. The partisan breakdown is 37 percent Democrat, 34 percent independent, and 29 percent Republican.

This is a perfect example of front loading Democrat participation using a turnout model that just doesn’t exist in the real world.  Really, a model that has only 29% Republican?  I realize that there is a lot of discussion going on about what the right mix should be – and I will admit that the independent number looks right.  The Democrat has a mix that is 8 points higher than the Republicans?  Really?

Add this in from Breitbart (emphasis mine):

Reality Check: NH Democrat’s Nancy Pelosi Values are not New Hampshire Values

NH Democrats have Nancy Pelosi Values - and they used to be proud of that.

Democrats have tried to lay claim to New Hampshire values but that’s not going to happen.  New Hampshire is about liberty, Live free or Die, local control, small government, and no broad based taxes, just like the TEA party.  Tea Party values are about defending the Constitution and rule of law, small and accountable government, low taxes and free markets.   NH Democrats are keen on painting a different picture, not just because they can’t run on their own records but because the root for their values is too freighting for them to acknowledge…

They have Nancy Pelosi Values.

New Hampshire Democrat values are Nancy Pelosi values, extreme left social and economic values that just two years ago they were actually proud of.   Values that are nothing like New Hampshire values…so what has changed in the past two years?  Nothing.   But they will do or say anything to get back into power.

How to start a Fight – Part 6

My wife and I were sitting at a table at her high school reunion, and she kept staring at a drunken man swigging his drink as he sat alone at a nearby table. I asked her, “Do you know him?” “Yes”, she sighed, “He’s my old boyfriend. I understand he took to drinking right after … Read more

In the category of “I wish I had thought of this”: WW II history redone in the Obama “foreign policy” style

Once again, one of those whole post – posts; from Peter Kirsonow at The Corner:

Cambridge, Mass. — Celebrated historian Bertram Oxley has uncovered a memorandum from former Japanese Emperor Hirohito to Admiral Yamamoto dated December 6, 1941, showing that the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor was motivated by an offensive film made by Charlie Chaplin ridiculing Japanese cuisine.

“Contrary to historical accounts over the last seventy years,” Professor Oxley said in an interview today with the BBC, “What appeared to be a meticulously planned surprise attack was actually a spontaneous demonstration by moderate sushi connoisseurs in the Imperial Navy in response to a hateful and offensive movie. Thereafter, extremist elements within the Japanese military co-opted the spontaneous attack, transforming it into the overseas contingency operation sometimes referred to as ‘World War II.’”

Republican Leaders Blast Democrat Income Tax Plan

Hey, the economy stinks, New Hampshire is doing better than most but the Obama economy is still grabbing at our legs, so what do you do if you are a New Hampshire Democrat?  Propose an Income tax! (To fund Charter schools!?  Collusion between the Democrats and the State Education board perhaps?)

Notable Quote – Theodore Roosevelt

“The Roman Republic fell, not because of the ambition of Caesar or Augustus, but because it had already long ceased to be in any real sense a republic at all,” he said. “When the sturdy Roman plebian, who lived by his own labor, who voted without reward according to his own convictions, and who with … Read more

Democrat Planning Prolongs The Return To Prosperity

Strangers create innovation. Strangers discover new ways to solve problems. Vast swaths of strangers pursuing their own self interests enable other strangers pursuing their own self interest to achieve further success.  I’m using the word strangers here to make the point that there is not any intentional cognizant collusion involved.  This is how technology and innovation bursts occur; this is how every day advances occur; this is how traditions become traditions and how civilization evolves. Pretending that there’s a mighty apparatchik with the knowledge to do the same is folly, though the Democrats and the left continue to believe in this approach.  (My hunch is that’s because they have no faith other than a Hegelian faith in the state, but that’s for another blog.)

Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak, working in a garage, pursuing their own goal, shaped innovation, birthed an industry, and changed the contours of human intellectual discovery.  There wasn’t a Department of Personal Computers directing them.

Are These Your New Hampshire Values? The Lee Nyquist Edition

Democrat Lee Nyquist is a New Hampshire Democrat running for the State Senate in District 9.    Nyquist has embraced the Democrat state party narrative in which every Democrat from Shea-Porter and McKluster (running for congress), all the way down to every “Democrat running for anything” is running against the TEA Party.

As part of this fiction Nyqusist claims he is for “New Hampshire Values not TEA Party values.”  That’s what the ad says.  But anyone who knows how Democrats govern (and how they governed New Hampshire)  would be right to ask how thier  “Big Government tax and spend Massachusetts Values” could ever be passed off as New Hampshire values?
