Gun Free New Hampshire House

“The D.C. gun ban works – just ask James Brady…”

To follow up on Grokster Steve’s post yesterday…

No gun ban proposed for NH House by Democrats...again

Should it have been a surprise that these six RINO’s voted the way they did? No. We already had hard evidence they could not be counted upon as evidenced by the pre-election grade assigned by the NRA.

Rep. Dennis Fields (R)INO Belknap 4 -Sanbornton; NRA Grade: C

NH House A Gun Free Zone

By a vote of 196 to 153, the New Hampshire House voted to make their little corner of heaven a gun free zone.  Six (r)epublicans voted with the Democrats to ban citizens from carrying firearms in Representatives Hall and the House gallery.   Belknap County – Dennis Fields, Sanborton Carroll County – Karel Crawford, Center … Read more

RINO Hunting…Targeting Six of the Biggest Incumbent RINO’s in the New Hampshire House

No More RINO's - RLCNH puts up the records they must run onThe RLCNH has some fact filled Internet nuggets for us to chew on, and they are all RINO flavored.

That’s right, once again the liberty Republicans have to come out and remind everyone else about the records of progressives who have been hiding under the trunk of the Republican Party for…in some cases…a very long time.

And there is a very consistent theme among them.  They are all endorsed by the SEIU.  They like more spending, more taxes, and less liberty.  They are the (r)epublicans that get support from public sector unions (with the addition of Firefighters, most of whom are Democrats planted in the GOP by the PFFNH and the NHDP).  And whenever anyone calls them out…Democrats run to their defense.

But there is a primary next week and all six of the candidates on this particular list is in a position to be sent packing if Real Republicans come out and vote for Real Republicans.

SEIU Tells You Which Republicans You Should Avoid…by Endorsing them.

Unions - Proud Owners Of The Democrat Party
Unions - Proud Owners Of The Democrat Party

The SEIU has just informed Republicans who NOT to vote for.  For this, we are thankful.

The SEIU (SEA-NH), Obama’s shock troops, the same folks who beat up black conservatives ( or refuse to denounce such behavior), have endorsed the following “(r)epublicans” in New Hampshire.

In Belknap District 8, SEA/SEIU has endorsed Rep. Peter Bolster (R), of Alton.  Bolster is train wreck.  He barely votes with his own party half the time.  If you want a Republican you should be voting  for Jane Cormier, to get Bolster out of the House and with any luck, out of our Party.

AFP-NH has released its 2011-2012 Legislative scorecard for New Hampshire.  In my review of the score card results there is not much that will surprise anyone who makes it a habit of paying attention to what happens in Concord.   But not everyone lurks in the Political sausage factory so lets take a quick review.

RINO Reminiscents

“I would rather have a competent extremist than an incompetent moderate.” —Leon Jaworski

Representative Lee Quandt (R)ino

Many of you know Marshall “Lee” Quandt? Rockingham District 13? We here at the Grok fancy him a RINO. Back in January of this year he went after Conservative Commentator Carolyn McKinney where he characterized the New Hampshire Republican Liberty Caucus as, “sickening.”  Aside from grossly mischaracterizing McKinney, he unabashedly defends, supports and coddles the unions.

Make no mistake about it. Lee Quandt is a RINO…But then again Rockingham Districts, “have RINO written all over them.”  So back in April, Quandt has a sit down with Ann Marie Timmons and Matt Spolar, two lib-scribes of the Concord “Fishwrapper” Monitor. Here’s how they play it:

NH House Redistricting Plan Stands

The State Supreme Court does not believe the redistricting plan passed by the State legislature violates the State Constitution.

PER CURIAM. These consolidated cases are before us on interlocutory transfer without ruling from the Superior Court (Brown, J.). See Sup. Ct. R. 9. The petitioners, New Hampshire voters and the towns and municipalities in which some of them live, seek a declaration that Laws 2012, chapter 9, the law redistricting the New Hampshire House of Representatives (the Plan), violates the State Constitution. We conclude that such a declaration is unwarranted.

Emphasis Mine.

I confess that I am not familiar with all the intricacies of the debate, but whenever the State Supreme Court opts out of meddling with something a majority of the elected legislature has passed–and then passed again after the Democrat Governor vetoed it–it is usually a good day.

But it gets better.

The Concord Monitor’s Integrity Deficit

“I can only assume that your editorial writer tripped over the First Amendment and thought it was the office cat.” —E. B. White

On Thursday February 9, the Concord Monitor ran an opinion column written by Dan Williams regarding several pieces of Legislation pending in Concord affecting Hunting, Fishing and Trapping.  Aside from writing for Granite Grok, I am the President of the New Hampshire Wildlife Federation, and also the President of the Londonderry Fish & Game Club. I am a hunter, a fisherman (of lesser sorts) and a Trapper.

RINO OF THE WEEK REPORT

Representative Marshall E. “Lee” Quandt, Rockingham District 13 is this week’s RINO OF THE WEEK Representative Quandt tends to be “Clintonista” with his navigation of the New Hampshire political Fabric and based on his New Hampshire House Republican Alliance Scorecard, he enjoys some modicum of success doing that.

Wrong About RINOs

“I don’t make jokes. I just watch the government and report the facts.” —Will Rogers

Representative Julie "The Mad Hatter" Brown, Strafford, District 1 RINO of the Year

When I began doing the RINO Report, I had opined initially that RINO’s don’t really care about my musings on whether or not he or she is a RINO. I was wrong about that. I am finding out that RINO’s do care. Fact is, I am finding out that some I have labelled as RINO’s are actually…well, quite thin skinned.

The true test of how well-read the blog has been, is evidenced by the number of people who stop on  by to call me a MORON.  Such viscera is good for the inner constitution.  And, Despite being negative, it’s still feedback.  When I get such feedback I am reminded of 28 years ago…back to the year, 1983, when I was a recruit at Third Battalion H Company at Marine Corps Recruit Depot, Parris Island. As the Senior Drill instructor

Syrup of Ipecac For Lee Quandt

“A moment’s reflection shows that Liberalism is entirely negative. It is not a formative force, but always and only a disintegrating force.” —Francis Parker Yockey

RINO (ry•/n oh)  noun. (acronym)

            Republican in name only

  1. A person who runs for, or holds political office representing one’s self as a “Republican” but who adopts, votes for or advocates for political tenets that advance an agenda contrary to conservatism or the Republican party platform.
  2. A member of the Republican Party who is liberal.
Representative Lee Quandt (R)ino

One of our own RINO’s in the legislature has taken up the mantle of Charlatanry. But what makes this RINO Charlatanry so noteworthy is his engagement in tactics typically found on the left. People like Raymond Buckley, Kathy Sullivan, and Harrell Kirstein. Not only noteworthy are the tactics, but the very word choices used in the description.

This RINO writes, ”

RINO OF THE WEEK REPORT

“Remember that a government big enough to give you everything you want is also big enough to take away everything you have.” Barry Goldwater

The 2012 Legislative Session brings new opportunities for analysis of the Granite State Legislature. The RINO Report began in July of 2010 and featured those Republicans who were “clear cut” Republicans in Name Only. For them the label aptly fit the first slew of Choices were found to vote with the Republican Agenda only 30-45% of the time.  As we moved up the list, the choices became less clearer, however we often turned to the New Hampshire House Republican Alliance Scorecards and looked at the vote content carefully.  Albeit, some who probably made the list could have made it after some who were originally featured. There were some who did not make the RINO Report that really should have. I will promise to make it up to them.

ConservationNH And Their “Tree-huggin” Hippy Crap

“The college idealists who fill the ranks of the environmental movement seem willing to do absolutely anything to save the biosphere, except take science courses and learn something about it.” — P.J. O’Rourke

The NH Union Leader’s Ted Seifert featured a story about ConservationNH.org and their inaugural release of the, “Dirty Dozen” list of bills currently before the legislature.  According to filings with the Secretary of State, this group began in 2009 and its board is comprised of individuals listing affiliations and accomplishments more warmly welcoming in the left-wing political arena. That is an important distinction to make because they have RINO’s Rick Russman and Liz Hager on their team.

When readers go to the website, ConservationNH.org, the information is incomplete. There are no links to actual bills, titles or analysis other than what ConservationNH.org has to say about it. Lets look at their list:

Mitt Romney: The Matthew Lesko of American Politics

Romney_lesko_small.jpg

My opponent isn’t pro-choice or anti-choice, he’s multiple choice.”   —Senator Edward M Kennedy on Romney during the 1994 Senate Election

When Mitt Romney came to New Hampshire in June and announced his candidacy, One of the first visceral reactions I had was that Mitt could not win against Obummer. Not for all the conventions and opinings currently swirling about, but for the simple facial evaluation that the man in not honest. He is too phony, fake and disingenuous. His Flip flops are well-documented in the 2008 campaign by the very moderate-RINO that endorsed him…John McCain.

New Hampshire Wire Tap Laws and the Wheedling Legislature

“All men profess honesty as long as they can. To believe all men honest would be folly. To believe none so is something worse.” —John Quincy Adams

Yesterday, a Union Leader Editorial featured commentary about the flaws of New Hampshire’s Wire Tapping and Eavesdropping laws currently in place. The commentary came on the heels of the Supreme Court upholding the Conviction of the now-deceased and infamous Kristin (McDonald) Ruggiero, an evil shrew who sought to use the courts as a cudgel and see her ex-husband locked away, ruined and broken.

The nexus of Kristin’s appeal asserted that the lower court incorrectly admitted photographic evidence of her committing her crime. The problem for Kristin was evidence established she placed the calls from California to South Carolina, jurisdictions that lack the criminally enabling restrictions codified in New Hampshire statutes. Summarily, she lost her appeal. Following notification by her lawyer, Mark Sisti, the grim reaper came for a visit shortly thereafter.

WHO IS THE “RINO” OF THE YEAR FOR 2011?

With 2011 drawing to a close We here at GraniteGROK have made some attempt to detail who we think are the Republicans in Name Only. Some choices were a literal “no-brainer” while other choices were not so clear cut and dry. Perhaps we got it right, while other times we got it wrong. Only history and voting records can judge.
