Never A Surprise

“In the first place, God made idiots. That was for practice. Then he made school boards.” —Mark Twain

Londonderry School District Superintendent Nate Greenberg lobbied against HB 1607, “AN ACT establishing an education tax credit.” Not surprising at all…In fact, this is expected.

Long ago, educrats stopped caring about the delivery of a qualitative, substantive education for the communities children over their now-obvious priority of self-serving, fat-cat wielding power fiefdoms to preserve and continue the never-ending focus on how much the taxpayers can be bled to feed the whims of the edaucracy.

Walmart And Their Secret Gun Policy

“When ignorance gets started it knows no bounds.” —Will Rogers

Time for some new tires. Wal-Mart had a decent price on Goodyear Tracker 2 tires for my SUV (or, urban assault vehicle as my friends who strap Pruis’ to the behinds refer to it as) So I lumber on into Wal-Mart in my Ford Explorer. The tires were mounted and balanced in just under an hour and I spent just shy of $500.

As I leave through the double automatic doors, the service center employee follows me out and says, “One more thing…I noticed the gun in the truck…Wal-Mart has a strict policy of not working on vehicles with firearms in them. Please leave it at home, next time”

Leftist-Progressives: Always The Dependable Deniers

“An individual, in promoting his own interest, may injure the public interest; a nation, in promoting the general welfare, may check the interest of a part of its members.” —Friedrich List

Last week the Union Leader’s Gary Rayno reported on a check made of electronic databases searching for potential welfare fraud. House Speaker Bill O’Brien is sponsoring legislation that would require Health and Human Services to cross-check recipients in an effort to save taxpayer money to root out potential welfare fraud.

Naturally, any astute observer who has long followed the conversation on public entitlements can nearly guess, as if looking into a crystal ball, what the push-back is going to look like. And true to their principles of class warfare and legalized theft, opponents of this effort are dependable.

You cannot make this stuff up. The U.S. Office of Inspector General Released a  16-page report detailing the gross abuse and excesses in the use of taxpayer monies of the Obama Administration GSA Officials. Nothing says Hackarama like an expensive opulent junket like this. The report was released yesterday by the OIG.

An Airsoft Gun-Free Zone?

“Don’t carry a gun. It’s nice to have them close by, but don’t carry them. You might get arrested.” —John Gotti

An Airsoft gun can be dangerous. Dangerous because if one gets hit in the eye with one of those plastic BB’s, an eye could be lost. Like the old saying goes, “It’s all fun and games until somebody puts an eye out.” So here is this kid…He brings an Airsoft Pistol to school. Clearly, a very poor choice. But, let’s face it. If the kid brought a large chunk of soap to school, fashioned in the shape of a gun the school response would be the same.  Perhaps the word, “GUN” milled from steel in a CNC machine and then hot-blued… If you can admire “publik edjukayshen” for anything, they are to be lauded for their sheer ability to be consistent in this one single area.

Voter Fraud Efficacy

“It is a sign of the times that the absence of meaningful ID requirements in many states leaves our voting process vulnerable to fraud and allows legal votes to be cancelled out by illegally cast ballots.”  —Rep. Virgil Goode,  5th congressional district of Virginia: 1997 to 2009.

NH Poll workers see dead peopleIt intrigues me that Project Veritas struck again on March 13 in Vermont, yet got very little face time in the national media. James O’Keefe and Project Veritas took a road trip to Vermont on March 13th and conducted a redux of the the New Hampshire investigation. Only this time they never took a ballot.  And true to form, the liberals acted as predicted: Calls to the attorney General for an investigation to see if any crimes were committed.

Project Veritas folks took this one step further, though. They went to bars and attempted to obtain alcohol without an ID; They attempted to get a civil union certificate without an ID. Both endeavors met with failure.

Dog Bite Politics

“Like a hand grenade, (Pit Bulls) are inert until you pull the pin. Once the pin is pulled, there is nothing you can do to stop the explosion.” —Gary Wilkes

3 year-old Natylee Murphy following the attack of her Aunt's Pit Bull in New Caney, Texas on September 11, 2009.

Last Wednesday, the front page of the Union leader featured Janis Milne who, while out walking her 8 year-old lab named Sue, Monday afternoon, was viciously attacked by what the article describes as a, “Pit Bull.” Milne’s Black lab named Sue suffered serious injuries , as did Milne.  This brought to the forefront for me some years ago being attacked by full-sized Collie, chewing me up pretty good. Minding my own business riding along the public street on my bicycle, I was knocked off my bike, and now being mauled by “Lassie.” Anybody who has suffered such an event will tell you it leaves you wincing.

Bill Maher: A Cultural Icon…Not!

So How about that Bill Maher? He calls Governor Sarah Palin a “c*nt and gets a pass on it from the Hollywood elite, so say my fellow conservatives. Me? not so much. My impression of Bill Maher is that he the type of male species, folks from all walks of life find distasteful and elect not to give Maher’s rants too much face time, letting him stand as the elitist pandering retard he truly is.  Is it any great surprise that he would equivocate in comparisons to Rush Limbaugh’s recent analysis on Sandra Fluke?

Voter ID Passed in the Senate, But Really?

“It is a sign of the times that the absence of meaningful ID requirements in many states leaves our voting process vulnerable to fraud and allows legal votes to be cancelled out by illegally cast ballots.”—Virgil Goode

Yesterday, the New Hampshire Senate passed SB289 right down party lines 18 to 5, according the the New Hampshire Union Leader.  The bill now goes to the House.  The Senate website indicates a roll call vote, but as of this morning, there is no listing for that. Why is the leadership in this Senate Body “gun shy” about  each Senator owning his or her vote via roll call?

The bill require voters to show photo identification before casting ballots is a step closer to becoming law after it was passed by a wide margin in the Senate on Wednesday.

How About Those Gas Prices?

“As you know, the government takes 40 percent of what you make. The other 60 percent, of course, taken by the gas stations.” — Jay Leno

Is this You?Been to a Gas Station Lately? Prices have spiked markedly in the last two weeks. For those of us driving Sport Utility Vehicles the effect is most pronounced. Just this week it cost nearly eighty dollars to fill my Ford Explorer’s fuel tank. It was nearly a year ago when President Obama quipped,

“If you’re complaining about the price of gas, and you’re only getting 8 miles to the gallon… you may wanna think about a trade-in”

Yes. I know..it’s an SUV….but show me a “clown car” with the performance benefits of an SUV. Fact is, there isn’t one. It appears that Obama believes middle America has the means to expend all the funds necessary to lower gasoline costs and improve efficiency. The President may well be right, but he overlooks the considerable cost one has to undertake to achieve that end.

On Tuesday a Union Leader editorial called House Bill 1339, “preposterous”.  In the UL Editorial entitled, “Contract Hunting,”  The UL aptly describes why the bill is problematic. HB 1339, sponsored by Representative Paul Mirski, Joe Duarte and Gary Hopper, is an effort to keep access to hunting, fishing and trapping accessible to all, irrespective of economic and social strata.

The Union Leader points out,

U.S. Immigration in its’ U.S. District Court complaint in Concord, accuses Munyenyezi of lying  to enter the United States to gain citizenship. Currently behind bars without bail, Munyenyezi  is slated to begin trial this Wednesday on fraud charges.

Concord Monitor Fisking: Several Bad Ideas On Hunting, Wildlife

“As for editorial content, that’s the stuff you separate the ads with.”  —Lord Thomson of Fleet

On Thursday, February 9, 2012 the Concord Monitor‘s Dan Williams wrote an opinion column entitled, Several bad ideas on Hunting, wildlife Williams contacted me personally to talk about his upcoming story. When I read the column, however, I didn’t recognize the lion-share of our conversation. Much was missed in the piece and it took on a rather pejorative tone, versus an analytical tone.

Seeing the text on line, I attempted to clarify with only nominal token success. I had to generate an account, was limited to 1000 characters in my response. and was only permitted one entry. My second one never appeared.
