Maybe Maggie “Squats With Lobbyists” Hassan Just Wants A Casino Bailout?

As our Democrat Governor tries to improve her odds at winning a bet on a state gambling monopoly in northern New England, AP is reporting hard times for the Indian Casino monopoly in the southern part of New England.  The Indian tribes, who got the law changed to allow them to put up casinos as a way to pay for their needs way back when, got so busy relying on other peoples gambling money for their free ride that when that money dried up, (down economy, waste, bad spending decisisons, abuse, because they are entitield) they figured they’d go running back to Uncle Sam for a bailout.

It’s millions of dollars, just sitting there, to which the ‘law’ entitles them, and as the song goes, they aint too proud to beg.

Timmyz In For A Rude Awakening

“Truth never penetrates an unwilling mind.”  – J. L. Borges

Joseph M. Gallagher - No Such address - stole your vote in 2000
Joseph M. Gallagher – No Such address

Like most people who foment voter fraud, either by assisting in it or simply ignoring its existence, Rep Timothy Horrigan (D- Land of Voter Fraud) are not long for a very rude awakening.  But in advance of this tumultuous awakening, Horrigan is quoted by WMUR in defense of his bill to repeal the New Hampshire voter ID law currently in place.

Rep. Timothy Horrigan, D-Durham, argued for repeal, saying the voter ID law is “an excessive solution to a virtually nonexistent problem.” Horrigan said no evidence of voter fraud exists in the state.

Emphasis mine.

Repeal was not embraced, though the Democrats have halted any additional provisions until the AG is done lying about the existence of voter fraud, much the way every AG has for most of (at least) the last decade.

The problem is not that it does not exist, it is that either no one wants to be bothered or the fraud favors those tasked with the looking.

NH Ranked 10th Best State for Gun Owners by Guns & Ammo Magazine

Guns and Ammo Magazine has rated all 50 states and the District of Columbia to determine where the best and worst places are for gun owners in America. New Hampshire ranked in the top ten best. Tenth, actually.  The District of Columbia came in 51st (go figure). Rounding out the bottom after DC are New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, … Read more

NH House Kills Casino Bill HB 665

From Jim Rubens for the Granite State Coalition Against Expanded Gambling.

Maggie Hassan Rolls the Dice on Imaginary Gambling Revenu

Immediate Release: House Kills 2-Casino Bill By Nearly 4-1 Margin
Contact: Jim Rubens, (603) 359-3300

This morning the House killed HB665 by a 249-65. HB665 would have permitted two casinos, one in the North Country and one along the Massachusetts border.

“Today’s vote shows how little support exists for a casino bill lacking the muscle provided by the construction unions and Millennium Gaming’s fleet of lobbyists and PR flaks,” said Jim Rubens, chairman of Granite State Coalition Against Expanded Gambling. “On its objective merit, casino gambling utterly fails among legislators weighing the arguments on both sides.”

Jim goes on to point out some things about another gambling bill, SB152.

What Problem Will HB 135 (The Repeal of Stand Your Ground) Address?

HB 135 would not address any problem, unless justifying the fear-mongering and misinformation campaign of the anti-gun crowd is the goal. To that end there is a great editorial about H135 and the fear mongering of the left, in the union leader.  here’s a snippet. Testifying against the “stand your ground” legislation in 2011, Associate … Read more

Tuesday’s Special Election in Manchester – Bill O’Neil, the “Jackie Cilley” Democrat

NH Democrats fleece taxpayers againTurn out is all the Republicans need to win in Machester Ward 2 (Hills-9).  It is a special election.  GOP voters just need to show up in adequate numbers.  I’d like to try and motivate you if I can.

IBEW 2320 local union President Bill O’Neil, the Democrat in this New Hampshire House race, claims he should not be unfairly saddled with unpopular national issues of which he claims not to be  player.  Okay.  We’ll ignore the fact that the party he is running under does that all the time to their opponents and stick with what sticks to Bill.

Support ‘Stand Your Ground’ In New Hampshire [Updated]

[Updated] For those who are not interested in using the original petition site reported below (SignOn.org), I have created a separate petition on a different site.  I used the exact same language as the original.

New Hampshire Democrats have been doing their best to roll back, repeal, or undo anything and everything the last (Republican) legislature did.  The most recent effort is to repeal stand your ground (HB 135).  Stand your ground gives law abiding citizens the right to defend themselves, their friends, family, even total strangers, from a violent assault anywhere they have a right to be.

Democrats would rather you retreat “if you can,” presuming you have that option, are not responsible for the safety of your husband, wife, kids, friends, or a group of children, not all of whom may be able to retreat with you.

NH House Votes to Prohibit Indefinite Detention in the Granite State

Indefinite detention - NH House votes against itHB 399, the New Hampshire Liberty Act, passed the NH House by a vote of 337-15.

Talk about bi-partisan support!  And yes, I am enthusiastic about that.  Back on February 18th, I challeneged New Hampshire Democrats to show us what they were made of when it came to the Federal Government, under the guidance of Mr. Obama,  giving itself the right to detain people indefinitely and they have spoken.

Dan Itse’s bill would make it a crime for anyone to aid or abet indefinite detention in the Granite State without due process and the Democrat majority House stood up to support that.

Now maybe it’s a no-brainer vote.  Perhaps it’s an easy one-off, a gimme.  Heck, Democrats voted to nullify National ID back in the day.  How hard could this be to support?

Well if it that were true why did 15 New Hampshire reps still vote against it (including one Republican)?

By Whichever Ways And Means Make It Possible

From Ed Naile at NH Insider…

The Republican War on Women campaign was a secret code phrase for: women get to pay more for gas – especially those single moms who like big government.

For you single mom’s out there (Ed’s title was ‘Single Mom’s Love the Gas Tax’),  or any women at all, or even women who were not born women but feel like a woman, after getting slapped across the face with the Obama middle class tax increase at the beginning of the year, papa gubmint now wants to chew on a little more of your weekly revenue here in New Hampshire, with an 83% hike in the gas tax.

Welcome to the 83%…

Don’t worry.  You can probably exchange your gas receipts for some free birth control and a download of all the Obama’s Speeches.

Does the Gas Tax Bill The NH House Just Passed Violate the State Constitution?

NH House passes gas tax in violation of NH Constitution

The short answer is yes.  Yes, it does.  (The long answer will be nothing but excuses from its proponents.)

Part II, Article 6-a, states that any money raised through gas taxes (gas road tolls), must be used exclusively for public highways and “no part of such revenues shall, by transfer or funds or otherwise, be diverted to any other purpose whatsoever.”

[Art.] 6-a. [Use of Certain Revenues Restricted to Highways.] All revenue in excess of the necessary cost of collection and administration accruing to the state from registration fees, operators’ licenses, gasoline road tolls or any other special charges or taxes with respect to the operation of motor vehicles or the sale or consumption of motor vehicle fuels shall be appropriated and used exclusively for the construction, reconstruction and maintenance of public highways within this state, including the supervision of traffic thereon and payment of the interest and principal of obligations incurred for said purposes; and no part of such revenues shall, by transfer of funds or otherwise, be diverted to any other purpose whatsoever.

So HB 617 is unconstitutional.
