More on the jump!
Exhibit A. Barack Obama. My, he looks so uncomfortable “skeet” shooting (one of those photo-ops trying to show him trying to “be one of the guys”). Then there is a guy who actually knows how to shoot a long gun; of course, it’s the guy from Texas: It was unfortunate how his run for President … Read more
Do New Hampshire Democrats have their priorities straight? Think about it. The economy is creeping along. No one is projecting even moderate growth. Employment is likely to remain flat which means unemployment is as well. All in all, the best we can hope for, according to all the ‘experts’ is to drift along for a while. So what are New Hampshire Democrats doing?
In one of the safest states in the nation, with some of the most–dare I say liberal–gun laws in the country, they are investing their energy on harassing a Republican Senator (Kelly Ayotte) who doesn’t even have to run for office until 2016, over a vote that wouldn’t even do much if any good to solve the problem they claim it is meant to resolve; while at the exact same time, asking New Hampshire taxpayers to let them grow the size and cost of government as much as 10%.
Economy sucks, maybe 2% growth if we’re lucky over the next few years–New Hampshire Democrats want to give the government a permanent 9-10% raise.
Talk about not keeping your eye on the ball.
Wait. This is supposed to be like the Matrix, right. There is no ball. Look- Ayotte!

The Union leader has just updated an earlier story about an 18 year old in Cocnord, New Hampshire who had been arrested and charged with criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon after a student reported that they had pulled a gun on them in the High School.
The evening incident resulted in an evacuation of the facility. The report suggests that about 50 people had to leave the school, students involved in activities and adult education participants were all evacuated so a police tac team could search the building. The student was found, off school grounds, where he was detained, arrested, and charged.
Tac team. Evacuation. Student charged with criminal threatening.
Wait. Turns out the girl who reported it lied.

I was at the State Senate hearing yesterday on HB 135. I heard a great deal of testimony. Senator Carson asked people not to read their testimony, Zandra Rice-Hawkins, boringly read hers. Other such liberals gave us the same old boring crap.
Alton’s Police Chief Ryan Heath, speaking in favor of passage of HB 135, told the committee that the average person simply isn’t trained to make these on-the-spot decisions regarding use of deadly force. He asserted that Police have training in the handling of firearms, use of force and it is part of their jobs. And Chief Heath is correct. there is nothing incorrect about his statement. In fact, I had become so used to hearing it.
Something happened at that very moment. I received a text message question from an individual organizing a “training”
“Nice network and race series you have there – shame if something happened to it (if the Feds were to start looking at them)”
I wanted to start this post off with “Have guns become the new pornography that must be silenced?” but that would miss the nuance of the Progressive mind that ALL things that run counter to the Progressive making “progress” IS considered pornography – and thus, be discredited, maligned and eventually eliminated. Constitutionally protected? Makes no difference – FORWARD! Free speech / First Amendment? Makes no difference – FORWARD!
That you have a sitting US Senator (Democrat) trying to lean forward in silence the opposition to achieve a Progressive Political Milestone? Forward to Tyranny worthy of a Banana Republic:
The National Rifle Association-sponsored NASCAR race slated for this weekend is “inappropriate in the immediate wake of the Newtown massacre,” Sen. Chris Murphy, D-Connecticut, wrote to the race’s broadcaster on Thursday.
No, we are no longer in the “immediate wake” of using dead children for political children – Senator, when will the Left stop using dead children as politicial pawns?
In July 2011, Guns and Ammo’s Richard Venola wrote this article speaking directly to the topic of those at our Sporting Clubs who make the shooting experience extremely unpleasant at times. With the recent surge and upticks in new memberships, Venola’s observations, wisdom and experience is never needed more than it is today. I pass this along in the wake of all the publicity surrounding the surge in club memberships here in the Granite State. As President of the Londonderry Fish & Game Club, I insist that our leadership read this and learn from it when we install new team members.
Range Safety is vital, but some of it’s enforcers go overboard. —Richard Venola, Field Editor, Intermedia Outdoors

IMAGINE STANDING UP AT THE CLUB WHEN NEW BUSINESS IS ADDRESSED AND HEARING yourself suggesting, “I’d like to propose that we have a less safe range policy.” Older members might pass out.
But some places actually need it. Every shooter is a range safety officer, and for most of us, the habitual practice of safe shooting is as much a part of us as table manners
As if it even matters… Comcast Cable, “the nation’s largest cable provider,” has decided it will not accept firearm and ammunition advertisers in the future. This decision comes after Comcast has been running ads for some gun and hunting groups for decades. Comcast chose this new position after purchasing NBCUniversal, which has a long-standing ban … Read more

Saturday afternoon about 400 patriots met at the New Hampshire Capital to show their support for, and commitment to defending, the Second Amendment to the US Constitution: “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.”
Many attendees, as an expression of their rights as law abiding American and New Hampshire Citizens, brought their weapons with them. If one listened to liberals, one would think that all these weapons, perhaps 300 of them, were broken because not a single person was murdered or injured or even threatened.
The fact is that the front of New Hampshire Capital was probably one of the safest places in the nation Saturday between noon and 2 PM. Of course, you are most likely safer in any place at any time in New Hampshire than in almost any other place in the nation, and our respect for the Second Amendment and our New Hampshire Constitution are certainly significant reasons for that.
One of the disturbing things we learned this afternoon is that New Hampshire Democrats are trying to restrict our Constitutionally guaranteed rights to bear arms. Democrats have submitted several bills to restrict the rights of law abiding citizens and impact their ability to protect themselves and their families.
Over at Hot Air, I read about Colorado state Rep. Joe Salazar suggesting a novel method of self-defense for women on campus— just chill, ladies. I think not.
…with guns, right? Have I got that right?
How does this grab you? So first of all, can it be denied that the vast bulk of violent crime and murder occurs in large urban cities in states that are commonly referred to as Blue? Additionally, even in the so called Red States, the large population centers that exhibit inordinate amounts of crime trend … Read more

…and the right to self-defense. As a result, things are getting strange. Rhetoric is getting strange.
Positions are hardening. People are hardening. This, for instance, from NaturalNews.com:
Political correctness, CYA, a lack of blame-shifting / “not my fault and not my responsibility” and a total lack of “critical judgment” – what a combination we see. And the Educational-Industrial at work (School Board Associations, Administrator Associations, and Public Teachers Unions at these Government schools purport to be all about “public education” and how DARE you criticize us? (emphasis mine)
This incident is the latest in a growing line of extraordinarily strong reactions by school officials to things students have brought to school — or talked about bringing to school — that are not anything like real guns.
At D. Newlin Fell School in Philadelphia, school officials reportedly yelled at a student and then searched her in front of her class after she was found with a paper gun her grandfather had made for her. (RELATED: Paper gun causes panic)
In rural Pennsylvania, a kindergarten girl was suspended for making a “terroristic threat” after she told another girl that she planned to shoot her with a pink Hello Kitty toy gun that bombards targets with soapy bubbles.
At Roscoe R. Nix Elementary School in Maryland, a six-year-old boy was suspended for making the universal kid sign for a gun, pointing at another student and saying “pow.” That boy’s suspension was later lifted and his name cleared. (RELATED: Pow! You’re suspended, kid)
In Sumter, South Carolina, a six-year-old girl was expelled for bringing a clear plastic Airsoft gun that shoots plastic pellet to class for show-and-tell. The expulsion was later revoked.
Remember, these are the people who claim that they teach critical thinking.
