Joe Biden: “If it only saves one life!” A concealed carrier saved two that night.

Of all of the stupidest arguments that Progressives use over and over again is that of “if it only saves one life, it’s worth it!”. The hypocrisy is that when confronted with that absurdity with other concrete example of danger (but do not fit the Narrative Du Jour), they grimace and “that’s stupid” without realizing that they have just made your argument for you. Like Joe Biden here to the members of his Gun Grabber Task Force: “If our actions result in only saving one life, they’re worth taking.” (watch here). In fact, one person listed a whole bunch of things that should be banned forever if saving one life was really all that important – yet Progressives never would…

…Versus just being a talking point primarily used in a reducto absurdem way that makes them feel morally superior – but shows how intellectually weak they truly are (too much time in the echo chamber). Especially when confronted with reality; from 10TV.com (reformmatted and emphasis mine):

COLUMBUS, Ohio – A Columbus man said that he fought back when a man tried to rob him at gunpoint in west Columbus Monday night. Kelby Smith, 34, told police he was in the driveway of the home on Crescent Drive just before 9 p.m. when he was approached by a robber. Smith said that he had his 2-month-old in a car carrier and had to shield him from the robber who held a gun at Smith’s head. The suspect took Smith’s money and started to flee the scene as he pointed the gun back at Smith and his child.

That’s when Smith pulled out his own gun and fired at the robber.

The robber continued to run, but police said that a man fitting his description arrived at Mount Carmel West a short time later with a gunshot wound.

Senator Dianne Feinstein,

I will not register my weapons should this bill be passed, as I do not believe it is the government’s right to know what I own. Nor do I think it prudent to tell you what I own so that it may be taken from me by a group of people who enjoy armed protection yet decry me having the same a crime. You ma’am have overstepped a line that is not your domain. I am a Marine Corps Veteran of 8 years, and I will not have some woman who proclaims the evil of an inanimate object, yet carries one, tell me I may not have one.

Because turnabout is always fair play, a blogger went and dug up the names and addresses (phone numbers and other contact info) of the folks at the Journal-News. The Journal-News thought it would be fun to release all the names and addresses (with interactive map) of registered gun owners in New York’s Westchester and Rockland Counties, and this is just more “public information,” right? It is all just sitting out there or on the internet. But I have wonder if that was the response the employees of the Journal-News were expecting?

I know, you’d think that educated journalists with the tech skills at hand to take a large list and generate an interactive map would consider the possibility that someone else might not a) appreciate their hard work and b) return the favor…

My Fridge has a modified magzine in it — Will Demcrats try to ban my ‘Fridge because its got a modified magazine in it?

I think it is appropriate to add this picture (right) to Susan Olsen’s post. The one with the ‘Journalist’s Guide To Firearm’s Identification.’

This is my refrigerator door. It was modified by the manufacturer to accommodate an extra magazine capable of holding all manner of ‘lethal’ ordinance. Soda. Beer. Water, in those earth destroying plastic bottles, paid for with a plastic card, slid through a device made of plastic, carried home in plastic shopping bags and yes…that fridge door modification is made of plastic.

A fellow New Hampshire-ite wrote this several years ago and, while it has already been reposted and cross-posted around the blogosphere over the past few days, it is more than worthy of another read:

Human beings only have two ways to deal with one another: reason and force. If you want me to do something for you, you have a choice of either convincing me via argument, or force me to do your bidding under threat of force. Every human interaction falls into one of those two categories, without exception. Reason or force, that’s it.

In a truly moral and civilized society, people exclusively interact through persuasion. Force has no place as a valid method of social interaction, and the only thing that removes force from the menu is the personal firearm, as paradoxical as it may sound to some.

Jeanne Shaheen Wants to Ban Guns

Tragedy always attracts a parade of progressive mountebanks, anxious to peddle their faulty wares as cures for what ails us, and US Senator Jeanne Shaheen (D- Utopia) is no different. In response to the heinous criminal acts perpetrated in Newtown, Connecticut she observed that…

“We need a comprehensive approach that includes improving access to mental health services, better enforcement of our current laws, and we need to get deadly assault weapons off our streets.”

Whatever you do, do not ask Senator Shaheen to describe an ‘Assault weapon’ because I am reasonably certain her talking points palm card did not include that.

President Obama, who promised to pursue gun control under the radar, has fulfilled that promise. Oh No Guns....and magazines...and ammo

Obama has expanded civil-forfeiture rules making it permissible for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) to seize weapons from citizens without the hassle of due process.

This effectively gives Attorney General Eric Holder, of Fast and Furious fame, extended power over guns and gun-related property.

Waxing leftist-philosophic on the Aurora Massacre…

I would hope that it would be something like a Trayvon Martin situation that would make people think, ‘Wow. wrongful death, even though it’s a legal gun owner. How do we move forward from this situation?’ But so much of this issue, I think comes down to, ‘Let’s make sure law abiding white people are able to have access to guns and make sure that black criminals are not and that becomes part of the locus of the problem.

How about, let us make sure law abiding people have access to guns and criminals do not? The law protects the rights of self defense for everyone, not that Toure’ would care. He is too busy in this instance making racist hay and being racist himself, all at the same time.

Leo Sandy may be “amused by writers who chide me for violating bad laws” but I’m reduced to guffaws at his latest letters attempts to not only re-write history but also declare what are enforceable laws and facts. For an Education Professor, he proves his need for his own remedial tutoring.

While he does not care for the fact that the U.S. is yet still a sovereign nation, this remains a non-negotiable fact. I remind him that although we participate in the UN and some UN treaties, we have not as of yet ceded that sovereignty (a fact that must raise his one-world angst often). Thus, the U.S. does not need permission from the UN in advancing its own interests (which stray far, thankfully, from Dr. Leo’s).

How Fast Can A Rifle Go From Unloded…

…to loaded? Pretty damn fast, apparently.

Two New Hampshire State Police troopers demonstrated how quickly a semiautomatic rifle can go from unloaded to loaded under a new definition in a bill up for a House vote this week. – (Union leader, Wed 1-4-12)

So with no one else lawfully armed–a policy the police, Governor Lynch, and the university folks both advertise proudly and insist they will defend–the only thing left to stop the rapid loading, unloading, and reloading of a “semiautomatic rifle” in a gun free zone would be what we call…victims. (Or running out of ammo.)

But don’t Democrats love “victims?”

Without victims they have no platform.

Guns, not the cuse of more homicides in NH unless you count police pistols How will the left spin the news about the increase in New Hampshire homicides in 2011? The Union Leader reports the number at 2 3, an increases of five over 2010.

Will the Democrats try to make a case for gun control based on the report?

Will the New Hampshire Police chiefs, many of whom work so hard to try and infringe second amended rights, spin the generic details to aid their cause? (When you make people wait for a police officer to show up to defend them from criminals who have already committed their crimes, you will always need more manpower to canvass more crime scenes. Doesn’t a chief with more employees get a higher salary? )

Police Chiefs and Leftists and Lynches oh my! They conspired to limit your right to self defense in New ON TARGET towards freedom Hampshire. Intimidated you with warnings of bloodshed. Introduced fear as a catalyst against you. And for what reason?

Tyranny? It is more difficult to use government power to manipulate an armed populace, armed with knowledge, armed for self defense. The first thing tyrant must do is to go after their guns.

Or is it victim-hood? Let’s face it, muggers and criminals are more than prepared to show you that they are willing to use force to commit a crime. Why would Democrats refuse you a similar opportunity to prevent a crime? Are they afraid you will discover that a lawfully armed populace can prevent crime without them? Do they need you to be a victim to advance some agenda?
