“Criminals won’t register their guns and shootings will continue”

clownsBY TERRY STEWART

“They simply aren’t wired to connect the dots to the logical conclusion that no amount of laws will stop evil people from doing evil things….
…for the anti-gun fanatics, shootings are the gift that keeps giving

I’ve known Terry for a few years now as we both served on our hamlet’s Budget Committee. I always found him to be thoughtful and one who did his homework.  That said, he’s never been one to suffer a fool on either side of the aisle and in this Letter to the Editor, he hoists one on his own petard. Emphasis mine.

Isn’t it great when the clowns to the left claim to be “stuck in the middle with you”? They use words like “common sense” and “reasonable” as if there’s no doubt they are. The best part is when they claim they are pro Second Amendment because they own a gun and say that the Second Amendment is about protecting your house, like it’s true. Mr. Vervaeke should go back to school and read the Federalist Papers to find out why the Founding Fathers felt the right to bear arms is important. I hope that he reads what they actually said and not what he’d like it to say. Clearly, advocating for gun registration is exactly what the Founding Fathers didn’t want and preventing such measures is why the Second Amendment exists.

But WAIT! WAIT! Jan Schmidt – there is no NRA in Australia!

“According to the AP, this could be the worst mass killing that Australia has seen in 22 years.

Ah yes, the Progressives/anti-Constitution folks just can’t live up to their own words of “tolerance” and “inclusion” when it comes to others, not of their own mind. Especially with Obama’s bitter clingers to their Bibles and their guns gaffe. They merrily go along, logic-free, saying that if you were to take away everyone’s guns, all the killing sprees would go away.  Humpf – like they did here?

SHOT:

The last mass killing of such a caliber occurred in 1996 when a lone killer massacred 35 people and injured 18 more in Port Arthur, Tasmania.

Once again, Tucker Carlson shows that the Left CAN’T answer a straight forward question: what will happen when you confiscate guns from law abiding citizens?”

So this Georgia lawmaker,  State Rep. Erica Thomas, went on Tucker Carlson in defense right after the first March for Our Lesser Rights Lives rallies and rightfully took the kids to task for not understanding that complex problem do not have simple answers. He had a simple question: what would happen in Georgia if a law she supported went into effect?  That law, supported by Thomas, mandated that Georgia State Police were to go and seize all “assault weapons” (obligatory reminder: there is no such thing as its a made up Progressive political term) and “high” capacity magazines.

She proves, once again, that you cannot trust what politicians say but what they do.  She spends the entire time avoiding Carlson’s rather simple and straightforward question: what would happen and aren’t people going to get killed over this. She would not admit to the “seize” part means mandatory confiscation and would not admit that anything wrong would happen.  She kept sidestepping and could not be honest about what she wanted to do. This Progressive was all set in declaring, without any due process, that law abiding citizens were to be declared criminals with the signing of a piece of paper just like Deerfield, Illinois (here and here) has done with Boulder, Colorado now looking to do the same.

I’m going to apply this rule to Steve Marchand, too; he’s

Liberal Guide to an AR-15

“You don’t need that” is the Progressive drive to wall you into their world – and disallow your’s. Just like the Kabuki Safety Theater we see in airports (where because of one lout trying to blow up a plane we all have to expose our smelly / holey socks to the world) (emphasis mine, reformatted):

The Chicago suburb of Deerfield, Illinois voted on Monday to ban the possession, sale, and manufacture of assault weapons and large capacity magazines to “increase the public’s sense of safety.” What’s more, CBS Chicago reports, anyone refusing to give up their banned firearm will be fined $1,000 a day until the weapon is handed over or removed from the town’s limits.  The ordinance states, “The possession, manufacture and sale of assault weapons in the Village of Deerfield is not reasonably necessary to protect an individual’s right of self-defense or the preservation or efficiency of a well-regulated militia.”

They show they can’t properly diagram a sentence. They also won’t live / govern by the “shall not infringe” part of the command, either. And they’ve fallen for that fake political term “assault weapon”.

Feinstein lets the cat out of the bag: Progressives want to take away ALL semi-automatic firearms

I spent this afternoon at a gathering of good friends where the purpose was to get out of the house, have a chance to yak, consume some good comestibles – and shoot guns!  Handguns, long guns; small calibers and larger ones (not quite .50 cal, but long range); semiautomatics, revolvers, and bolt action.  I’ve shot steel before, but only at short range and indoors so having the ability to shoot multiple 8″X5″ steel plates with both my Sig P220 and Colt AR in .223 was a lot of fun.  In fact, this was only the second time I’ve shot outdoors and beyond an indoor range’s limitation – and it was a blast.  Still have to adjust the sights on P220 as it shoots left and low (or is it my right hand trigger motion while left eye dominant?) but what a thrill to finally be able to try the new Vertex red/green dot with a 3X magnifier on the AR and see if I measured up to the capability of the system.  Am happy to report that just after a few rounds downrange to “figure it out” a bit, that to hit that same size steel plate 5 out of 6 shots out at about 170 yards put a smile on my face!  Next time, I’ll put the iron sights back on and try to duplicate it (and yeah, just like with those who customize cars and trick out their PCs, the AR is the same type of platform for gun folks to do set ups the way they want without having to be a gunsmith).  It was a delight to “compete against myself” in trying to better my skills – and the freedom to do so as a law abiding citizen.

So after having a great day with my semiautomatic modern sporting rifle and handgun, when I heard US Senator Diane Feinstein, once again on today’s Fox News Sunday, tell me that “I don’t need that” simply because she can’t trust me with it, I get ticked:

Yes, I get tired of these coastal Progressive elites having the temerity that they “know” what is best for me and what my needs are.  I also get mad when they torture the simple language of the Constitution when they say “my need” is only for hunting and self-defense and totally disregard what the Founders actually believe it is for (or worse, believe that human nature has “progressed” past the Founders concerns in just the past 200 odd years).  Here is the transcript (emphasis mine):

A use of the Fifth Amendment to protect the Second

Commerce Claws the rest of the Constitution?US Senator Diane Feinstein and NY Gov. Andrew Cuomo have infamously said that they would be fine with an outright confiscation of citizens firearms.  We do see talk of Government officials, via either official or de facto gun registration databases, coming to demand peoples’s guns.  Some have mentioned voluntary gun buybacks (which I would be fine with from the owners standpoint (not so much using my tax money to do so, however).  Some, however have declared that such should be mandatory.  Which then triggers the Fifth Amendment:

“No person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a Grand Jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the Militia, when in actual service in time of War or public danger; nor shall any person be subject for the same offence to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb; nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation.”

Already there is talk that the NY SAFE gun ban may well be unconstitutional as it mandates that gun owners must get rid of their arms and standard capacity magazines (no, they are NOT high capacity magazines with 10-15 rounds for a handgun and 30 rounds for a modern sporting rifle as those have been sold for years for time and in the millions for quantity of sales). In essence, to this non-lawyer (oh, Grokster Tim?  Weigh in here if you can!), it seem that the State is “taking” a person’s personal property away without recompense (and in fact, declaring them to be a felon).  So would simply paying the owners $50 a pop for mags sufficient?  Hmmm, Lars Larson, a talk show host that I listen to in the early evenings if I am out and about has an interesting theory that simply paying for them is insufficient to satisfy the Fifth (and thus, protecting the Second):

Zero Hedge and “the machinations of a single party system”

ZeroHedgeLogoZero Hedge is a blog that according to Wikipedia “reports on economics, Wall Street, and the financial sector.” In 2009 it exposed the practice of “flash trading” by Goldman Sachs’ to gain what were said to be unfair profits. In 2012 Zero Hedge had almost 2 million readers a month, a number that is apparently growing. Today an essay was posted on Zero Hedge that is both very alarming and very well-written. Its thesis is that…

Disarming America, Moving Toward Tyranny?

“People love conspiracy theories.” Neil Armstrong

Not so much. Yes…The internet is awash with all sorts of conspiracy theories that spin tales of how the government is going to disarm the populace and tyranny shall rule the day. A considerable amount of what is out there amount to no more than “Tin-foiled hat-wearing” doomsayers who probably didn’t get enough attention, Ritalin or positive feedback as kids. It’s there.

But on the other hand, Some of the stuff is well-written and compelling enough to literally scare the “bejesus” out of impressionable young souls. Am I dismissing much of it? Yes.  But not for the

The Nashua Telegraph Has An Integrity Deficit

“There is hardly any mental misery worse than that of having our own serious phrases, our own rooted beliefs, caricatured by a charlatan or a hireling.” —George Eliot

Two days ago, the Nashua Telegraph wrote an Editorial asking, “Why does the NRA fear truth about guns?” Upon carefully reading the article and researching the sources (or lack thereof) to support the claims made by the Telegraph, the rank laziness, partisan advocacy of gun control, and an utter lack of integrity emerged in the Telegraph anti-second amendment article.

The telegraph wrote:

“Faced with government-funded research that contradicts

Gun Confiscation, “Could Be An Option”

“Political language… is designed to make lies sound truthful and murder respectable, and to give an appearance of solidity to pure wind.”  —George Orwell

In my last post just only hours ago, I posited the notion that Gun Guntrol advocates are, in fact “Coming for our Guns.”

“Confiscation could be an option. Mandatory sale to the state could be an option. Permitting could be an option — keep your gun, but permit it.” —NY Gov. Andrew Cuomo

During a radio interview New York Governor Andrew Cuomo stated, “Confiscation could be an option,” referencing semi-automatic rifles, liberals like to call, “Assault Weapons.” Cuomo told WGDJ-AM of his  gun control proposals that he will outline at his State of the State Address on January 9.

Gov. Cuomo said:

“I don’t think legitimate sportsmen are going to say, ‘I need an assault weapon to go hunting.’ There is a balance here, I understand the rights of gun owners.

“Confiscation could be an option. Mandatory sale to the state could be an option. Permitting could be an option — keep your gun, but permit it.”

Governor Andrew Cuomo is a liar. Saying he understands

No Firearms Ban Coming? Think Again.

“If I could have banned them all – ‘Mr. and Mrs. America turn in your guns’ – I would have!” —California Senator Diane Feinstein, appearing on NBC News’ 60 Minutes, February  5, 1995

When reading the above quote, which time was Senator Feinstein being sincere? When she said this in 1995? Or, when she said recently,

(This legislation) will be carefully focused on the most dangerous guns that have killed so many people over the years while protecting the rights of gun owners…”

“While protecting the rights of gun owners” says Senator Feinstein. Which is it?

Yes! The Anti-gun left in America is speaking out and their talking points go something like this:
