White House Says It Now Expects Cabinet to Notify Them If They “Can’t Do Their Job” – Are They Trying to Be Funny?

Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin “took a week off” without anyone noticing, so the White House is running damage control. How could the Secretary of Defense disappear for a week? Because, like the White House, he’s not running it?

I’d call this developing, and that’s not just a photography play on words. Pictures have hit the internet taken by photographers who appear to have been embedded with Hamas militants as they invaded Isreal.

Alleged “News” Agency Will Spend 8 Million Dollar “Donation” to Fund Biased Reporting on Climate Change

This ties in nicely with the news that legacy media outlets will feature climate change “Desks.” Reporters and reports focused specifically on the issue at places like the Boston Globe, Concord Monitor, and now the AP, which got 8 million from somewhere to report on climate.

Record ‘Positive Cases’ Makes Biden and Democrats Look Bad so the Media Has Decided to Not Report Them

Forrest Gump had it right. Stupid is as stupid does. Take the ozone “hole.” The difference in reporting on homelessness? Body counts during a war. Well, the Rona just got the same treatment.

O on Terrorism, Striking Foreign and Domestic Intersections

Yesterday, the pusillanimous powder puff currently lounging in the Oval Office gave a speech on the “war on terror”. Below are some of the lines that struck me as interesting given the current maelstrom of power abuse scandals spinning around the great eared one.

Oblow-hardia:

“We will never erase the evil that lies in the hearts of some human beings, nor stamp out every danger to our open society. What we can do – what we must do – is dismantle networks that pose a direct danger, and make it less likely for new groups to gain a foothold, all while maintaining the freedoms and ideals that we defend.”

Naturally, the “networks that pose a direct danger” is in the eye of the beHolder. Given the recent lens that many more now peer through to clearly make out this administration’s penchant for abusing power and disrupting networks of American citizens it’s hard not to know what else he’s referring to.

Did DOJ Also Seize Phone Records From US House?

Congressman Devin Nunes (R-CA) broke this tid-bit yesterday on the Hugh Hewitt Show. So when they went after the AP reporters, right? Went after all of their phone records, they went after the phone records, including right up here in the House Gallery, right up from where I’m sitting right now. So you have a … Read more

“Can’t Keep Up…” – You and me both Steve

As Steve alluded to yesterday, the beast is so swollen, engorged on coercive bureaucratic fat, that it finally burst, raining juicy Big Gov abuse stories all over the land.  Though the forecast predicted the fallout,  I didn’t think so many would hit in one week. (The cynical side of me thinks that many of these stories would serve as a nice smoke screen distraction to redirect attention from Benghazi, but that’s just my cynical side.)

Big Gov can’t help itself.  The chemistry for abuse is intrinsic to the beast and pushes through its swollen veins, suffusing every crevice.  Hubris and power and a naked zeal to do as one pleases is the toxic cocktail that explodes when mixed in  vast, opaque, honey combed cubicles and goes unchecked.  This is the nature of the ginormous beast and it is impossible to oversee and manage.  There are going to be abuses. There is going to be waist and inefficiencies.  It happens in every entity that grows beyond itself whether it’s a company, a corporation, a code base (sorry for the nerd out), or with government. The difference is that with government, it has the power of the state.  The power to seize, coerce and apply violence to do so.  The power to acquire individual information, property, and throw down demands that the individual must labor to meet in order to “qualify”.

And this is the result.

Quick take on the biggies:

Boo Hoo Hamster Can Finally Write Something about the DOJ – AP Story

Last night Skip observed that the progressive mouthpiece for the Democrat blogosphere in New Hampshire (Bleu Hampshire) had been awfully quiet given all the newsy tid-bits peppering the interwebs.  Nothing to report on Benghazi, The IRS, HHS, DOJ seizing AP phone records, dead Americans, failed Middle East policy…nothing.

But there is good news. Blue Hamster has leave to react to at least one of the recent scandals…

The Soros funded, highly political (non-profit) Media Matters, has release instructions on how the Democrats should respond with regard to the Obama-DOJ seizing two months worth of phone records from the AP.  (I have included them on the jump so that you wont have to be bothered with visiting their site to find out what they have been told to think.)

Fact: “Fact Checkers” Aren’t Checking The Facts! [Updated and Bumped]

[Update: Looks like NRO once again caught Dylan Matthews “fact checking” Paul Ryan.  This time Matthews set his sites on the Carter/Obama comparison that Ryan mentioned.  So Matthews decided to use his skillful, analytical intellect to compile some charts.  One problem, the characterization of his intellect just used is completely inaccurate.  A correct characterization would be something like: a bumbling, dullard confounded by logic compiled the charts.   It turns out he got busted cherry picking metrics to favor Obama and then believed his own jive and stated that the economy is doing better now than in 2009.  Problem is, “…this is the year of the fact-checkers, and under the standards set by Matthews’s editor, this sort of thing would be classified as dishonest and untrue.”  Doh!]

A few times this week, I stumbled on information about Fact Checker’s malfeasance.

First, on Tuesday, the  “Politifiction” piece by the Editors at National Review Online reported on the skullduggery of Politifact.  Among others, it demolished Politifacts flaccid refutation of the Romney ad that claimed Obama raided $716 billion from medicare.  It’s definitely worth a read because it portends what’s to come and how “mistakes”, “mishaps” and “misunderstandings” will all coincidentally benefit BHO.

[Updated] AP Proves CO2 based Global Warming Is A Hoax

GlobeAP has a story out today, which the green Yahoo’s at Yahoo! have put up front for all to see.  The front page lede is ‘Record Rise in Global Warming.‘  But when you follow the link the article itself is titled:"Biggest jump ever seen in Global Warming Gases." Talk about deception.  But then, the entire thing, like global warming, turns out to be misleading.

The article goes on at length about emerging Asian economies and the massive influx of CO2 into the atmosphere, but the only mention of actual warming is theoretical.

The article itself is so slanted it is past amusing and damn near criminal.

The problem, or course, is that CO2 emissions have been on an upward climb for decades while global temperature have failed to follow.  They continue to go up and down without any measurable or predictable connection whatsoever.  But that is just another inconvenient truth.  So does AP dare to mention that?  Of course not.  They can barely contain themselves while pointing out that the UN’s IPCC has come under criticism but that most of its conclusions are considered main stream if not a bit too conservative."

Bwahahahahahahaha!

So much for the IPCC passing Green advocacy puff pieces off as science, leaving out contrary evidence, and overall being written by and for politicians with an specific green agenda.  Then there is all that hiding the decline business that they are still trying to hide.

The story does get one thing right.  Global emissions are still rising.  The fact that temperatures have not been in any measurable way affected is only more proof that the "we are killing the planet" meme is just another truck load of nonsense.  If we are killing it it is by keeping the third world in the third world where the socialist elites think they belong instead of letting them develop into efficient modern states.  You need cheap power to do that.  There is nothing cheap about the lefts energy alternatives.

[Update] Hot Air is reporting on the AP report as well, reminding us that despite the CO2 emissions warning and the failure of every man-made program to reduce them, the temperature has not risen for 11 years.

More on the jump.
