These Are A Few Of My Favorite Things…Obama Is Responsible For

This is too good not to borrow and re-post.  Dana Loesch–whom we saw at RightOnline this year–reports on the most recent Obama distraction–Romney..something something…and follows with a reminder that most of Obama’s defenders are funded by a guy with way more money (Soros) than Romney.  She then provides a list of links to things about … Read more

How is the NH Union Leader Like FEMA…?

How is the Union Leader Like FEMA…?   Slow to respond and not very satisfying results.  (Ok, maybe they are not that bad, just maybe this once.) Five days ago the Union Leader reported that Salem NH House Rep. Marilinda Garcia was against the veto override of HB 1679- the partial birth abortion ban bill.  They … Read more

Veto Override of HB 1679 – Partial Birth Abortion

The NH Legislature has overridden the Governor’s veto of HB 1679 banning partial birth abortion in New Hampshire.  I will visit this at greater length when time permits, but for now here is a statement from Ellen Kolb at Cornerstone Policy Research following the veto override.   CONTACT: Ellen Kolb, Cornerstone VP of Government Affairs, … Read more

Planned Parenthood – No Early Abortion for Their Growing Gender Bias Problem

The second shoe has hit the floor in the Planned Parenthood ‘gendercide’ scandal.  Video number two has been released, taken at the Margret Sanger Clinic, in Bloombergville (NYC), and that staff also seems to have been absent the day Big Abortion’s Corporate Messaging folks announced that…

“Gender bias is contrary to everything our organization works for … Planned Parenthood condemns sex selection motivated by gender bias.”

…becasue at the New York City office they say things like…

“I can’t tell  you that, you know, here at Planned Parenthood we believe that it’s not up to us to decide what is a good or bad reason for somebody to decide to terminate a pregnancy.”

They can’t tell you.  But they can keep your secret, whatever that may be.

Planned Parenthood – Gendercide? Yeah, We Can Do That. [Updated]

The process of moving the culture to the left continues apace.   A recent undercover video reveals that Planned non-Parenthood (PP) is willing and able to engage in the lefts long love affair with eugenics.  That is, to use whatever resources are at its disposal to craft the genetic make up of future generations.

Eugenics was the prime motivation for Margret Sanger (PP founder) to hand out contraception to those she deemed inferior; poor, minorities, etc.  She wanted to control and craft the master race by the systematic reduction of any gene pool deemed a danger to the coming socialist utopia.  (Ethnic cleansing, and the Holocaust are the most extreme examples of what Sanger hoped to achieve without the killing.)  So this is not a new idea, but just how far down the lefts  eugenics path have we traveled in America?

Slippery Slope…?

Sylvia Larsen is making a slippery slope argument against the New Hampshire Senate’s passage of a bill that would make causing the death of an unborn child murder. Senate Minority Leader Sen. Sylvia Larsen, D-Concord, joined other Democrats in criticizing Forsythe’s bill. “I think it establishes a bad precedent. It establishes a non-scientific basis for … Read more

Celebrate Mother’s Day With the Gift of Abortion

It’s still Mother’s day so you’ve still got time to take some gift advice from Democrat US Senator Kirstin Gillibrand; “This Mother’s Day, I can’t think of a better way to honor all the mothers in the country — past and present — than with a contribution to EMILY’s List,” Gillibrand writes. “They’re the ones … Read more

4.4 Million Reasons to Tell PPNNE to Kiss Off.

The next time some uninformed “women’s health rights” drone takes you to task over your defense of the idea that New Hampshire should not be funding abortion providers with taxpayer dollars (or that the people do not have the right to elect officials who will pass such laws for them), provide the following instruction on Planned Parenthood of Northern New England’s Spending Priorities

“..PPNNE’s 2010 annual report indicates $3.1 million spent on administration; $822,000 on public policy, including the aforementioned lobbyist; $445,000 on marketing. And they warn of having to turn women away if HB 228 passes?

Thanks to Ellen Kolb (here) for this quote from her blog (which you should check out by the way). Ellen is referring, among other things, to a vote on HB 228 in the NH State Senate today, “AN ACT prohibiting the use of public funds for abortion services.”  The Senate should pass this bill, not just because I don’t want taxpayer dollars supporting them but because PPNNE obviously has plenty of money to waste on things other than the actual care, whatever that care may happen to be.

Who Wants Partial Birth Abortion?

The New Hampshire House voted to ban partial birth abortion today (HB 1679).  For those unfamiliar, Partial birth abortion is exactly what the term infers.  The baby is partially born before its abortionist-induced termination.  What this actually is, is abortion at birth, and if it was done without consent, even liberals would call it murder.  But for the left, and more than a few very confused people on the near-right, the thinking here is that the child is not yet a person, a definition which is irrelevant if that same child is wanted by the mother, and an execution when preformed by the government on any other “person” against their will.  Something future babies may yet have to contend with.

Surviving birth is no longer, necessarily, the last opportunity for an abortion.  A pair of Oxford “ethicists,” who clearly would not object to partial birth abortion, recently arrived at the conclusion that infants are not people either.

Killing Babies Should Be OK

That is the premise of an article written by some experts who believe that…

The moral status of an infant is equivalent to that of a fetus in the sense that both lack those properties that justify the attribution of a right to life to an individual.”

There are more pull-quotes from this article than I know what to do with but to simplify my argument, this is exactly why abortion is wrong.  It is not a right or a privilege, it is but one small step in the progressive states patient journey towards state sanctioned euthanasia–where the state would be free to define “suffering” as any burden upon the state and the taxpayers who are paying the price for that burden.

Abortion: The face of the Pro-Death side….

This appeared in the Feb. 24, 2012 Wall Street Journal. It is a picture of a pro-“choice” demonstrator named Martha Doyle, her face twisted in hatred and rage. Why? Because the Virginia General Assembly was considering a bill defining human life as beginning at conception. She apparently didn’t like that. It hobbles the pro-death forces. … Read more

Senator Jeanne Shaheen – not only approves of Big Government superceding religious conscience but ok in directing private charity

“We earnestly hope that you will put women’s health before partisan politics and reconsider this decision for the sake of the women who depend on both your organizations for access to the health care they need.”

Jeanne Shaheen Wicked WitchOne of the saddest (or is that sadistic?) things I have watched this week has been the pilloring of the Susan G. Komen for the Cure – private charity that specializes in fighting breast cancer.  Simply by stating that they were going to withdraw their $600,000 or so donation that they have given to the abortion mill Planned Parenthood, all heck has broken loose on the Left – how DARE a private charity stop funding one of Holy Chalices of Secular Progressivism?  As this snippet from Hot Air points out, it isn’t about the good they have done over the years (about $2 billion in charitable giving) but who it was that was no longer going to get their donation:

Senator Jeanne Shaheen: Prioritizing political ideology on abortion over First Amendment Right of free expression of Religious Belief

“…it is not just a matter of “women’s health” and it makes no difference if “birth control is universal“.  From Left leaning Politico:

Jeanne Shaheen Wicked WitchSen. Jeanne Shaheen (D-N.H.) confronted Obama during a trip to the Granite State before the GOP primary, urging him to provide contraceptive coverage. Obama told her that he was sympathetic but had made no final decision.

It wasn’t until Jan. 20 that HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius announced the administration’s decision, sparking the firestorm from the bishops and the GOP presidential field.

“It’s very disturbing to me that his decision has been distorted and misinterpreted,” Shaheen told POLITICO. “It’s an issue of women’s health. Birth control is nearly universal in the country. I don’t understand why this is such a big issue.

No, you wouldn’t, nor does it seem, that you want to.  And not it is not an issue of women’s health.  It is all about a Progressive mindset that Government has can tell its citizens your religious beliefs are subordinate to our decrees.  It is all about Government telling its citizens that the Constitution does not matter on one of the issues that laid the foundation of our Country.  It is all about Government turning the relationship of American citizens to their Government.  It is all about losing the consent of the Governed…or actually, ignoring that it is a necessary component of American Exceptionalism, and making a crass political decision that beliefs of an unprotected minority are of no account.

Be Pro-Choice: Vote For The Right To Abort Unions.

If unions were abortions everyone would have the right to chose not to be party to it. Some liberal justice would have long ago ensconced that “right” into the US Constitution. And we would not be having this debate in New Hampshire. Workers could decide if they wanted to abort the union. But Democrats are hypocrites and choice shall not be permitted in the workplace. You will not, cannot be permitted to choose for yourself.

Well, the Democrats weren’t the only ones with Lefty Thanksgiving talking points:

Sorry for the lack of posting the last couple of days – yours truly’s laptop caught quite the virus and rendered itself inoperable for a while; I shall try to make up for missing Thanksgiving postings!

This was one of those posts that I missed putting up on time!  Thanksgiving can be a contentious time at the table – Mom was never happy with me during the holidays. I remember growing up and through my college years when we all went over one of the aunt or uncles’ homes – and given that she had been one of 8, there were a TON of people around (easily 50 – 100 folks at such a gathering).  It always seemed that I was having an argument with one of my Uncles during those times – a stalwart Democrat for the sole reason that FDR’s policies had allowed him to get through college.  Sure, he allowed, there were a lot of problems other than that, and the longer than necessary Depression probably was FDR’s fault, and that Dems had failings since, but he’d always pull the level for the Dems.

I always got "that look" from Mom – she hated it when I merely smiled back.

Steve had it right on the Dems with their cheat sheets but they weren’t the only ones pushing their supporters to push their agenda.  Welcome to the Turkey table (like it or not!), the talking points of the unborn baby killers.

I’m betting that our senior US Senator, Jeanne Shaheen, is in full agreement with these talking points.  After all, even after the democratically elected Executive Council (who the people of NH changed from a Democrat majority to a Republican supermajority) voted to not fund PPNE, she had the Feds go around that decision and fund PPNE directly.

Really, Jeanne?  Do you have so little regard of the peoples’ votes?  Oh, that’s right – Progressives believe that people are just too stupid to govern and decide for themselves.

After all, you did such a bangup job of "straightening up" our healthcare insurance marketplace here in NH, you chased all but 2 large companies out of the state…

But I digress – back PP’s talking points:
