Is Juan Valdez The Anti Christ?

Is Juan Valdez The Evil One?

(Repost: Originally posted Aug 17th, 2010 – What can I say, I like this one.)

I started drinking coffee at the age of six, not because my parents were irresponsible—they were in fact better people than I can ever hope to become—but because I spent an unusual amount of time in the company of coffee drinkers.  Both of my parents were recovering Alcoholics, (You are always recovering by the way) and both committed large portions of their lives to helping others cope with their disease.

Back in the 60’s and 70’s AA meetings had two very distinctive elements: cigarette smoke as thick as a London fog and coffee brewed endlessly in the largest attainable brewing device within driving distance.  While I am sure that the pall of smoke has today been relegated to a nearby alcove or outdoor “designated” smoking area, I suspect the coffee still runs like the bulls at Pamplona—every day of the year.  And apparently, the best way to fend off the contact buzz from the Stygian gloom of a nicotine cloud is to drink coffee in tiny foam cups with red plastic stirs that poke your fore-head as you try to slurp up the coffee flavored sugar ooze in the bottom.

Norma McCorvey – Anti-Obama Ad (Warning- Graphic Content)

Warning – This ad contains graphic images of aborted babies.

Jane Roe (Norma McCorvey) offers her abbreviated story in a political ad set to air in Florida.

“I was persuaded by feminist attorneys to lie; to say that I was raped, and needed an abortion. It was all a lie.

“Since then, over 50 million babies have been murdered. I will take this burden to my grave.

“Please, don’t follow in my mistakes. DO NOT vote for Barack Obama. He murders babies.”

What Justice Ginsburg and Bill Maher Have In Common

Last week I wrote about some comments by Bill Maher that included this progressive gem: My motto is let’s kill the right people.  Sure Bill, you and the rest of the Progressive Democrats for more than 100 years…

This is a party descended from eugenicists whose support for abortion and “end of life decisions” is based on a desire to “people” their inevitable man-made utopia with only the best the human race has to offer (as defined by them), and to use the power of the state to reduce the burden of any life that could be or has come to be inconvenient to that end

Margret Sanger was not giving away contraception because women had a right to it, she did it to prevent the birth of burdensome people she viewed as genetically inferior.  She didn’t want them polluting her gene pool.

So today I am catching up on my reading and I discover a post by John Sexton in which he writes of an interview with the pro abortion Supreme Court Justice Ginsburg…

Life, No Matter How Inconvenient….Matters

Bill Maher has done us a great service.  He has spoken the truth.  He has uttered a core “value” of the left, one that goes back more than a century.

“I do believe in more DNA testing. My motto is let’s kill the right people. I’m pro-choice, I’m for assisted suicide, I’m for regular suicide, I’m for whatever gets the freeway moving – that’s what I’m for. It’s too crowded – the planet is too crowded – and we need to promote death.”

This is the kind of refreshing honesty you can’t get from most Democrats because they are afraid you will be horrified by it and never elect them to office.  But this is who they are.  And you should be horrified, and you should not elect them to office, because Maher’s honesty exposes the lefts  intellectual roots.  This is a party descended from eugenicists whose support for abortion and “end of life decisions” is based on a desire to “people” their inevitable man-made utopia with only the best the human race has to offer (as defined by them), and to use the power of the state to reduce the burden of any life that could be or has come to be inconvenient to that end.

Republicans Want to Limit Your Access to (Insert lie here)

Democrats will make up stories about their own mothers if they think it will advance their political agenda, so we cannot pretend to be surprised when the professional Lefts “Republican War on Women Blitzkrieg” embraces outright deception; the idea that Republicans want to limit your access to (insert lie here.)

This idea is based on the Democrats obsession with positive rights.  In the real world you are born with free speech and the right to defend your life and property whether there is a government or not.  In the Democrat world these things cannot exist until there is a government to give them to you.  This rule applies to everything.   So we could just as easily say that Republicans want to limit your access to Starbucks Latte’s.  The government isn’t standing over Starbucks making sure you get the Federally approved brand of coffee at taxpayer expense, therefore your “right” to that coffee is in danger.

The Lefts War on Women intifada applies this notion to abortion and contraception to broadcast outright lies about Republicans, and I’m here to tell you…if you believe the Democrats, you should demand an intellectual refund on your public school education because your mind has been robbed of common sense.

“Thanks, doc….”

A little guy's thank you for the gift of life....

What are you looking at immediately above? It is a picture of a womb holding a 21-week-old unborn baby named Samuel Alexander Armas, who is being operated on by surgeon Joseph Bruner at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee. The baby was diagnosed with spina bifida and would not survive if removed from his mother’s womb. Little Samuel’s mother, Julie Armas, is an obstetrics nurse in Atlanta who knew of Dr. Bruner’s remarkable surgical procedure where he performs these special operations while the baby is still in the womb. During the procedure, the doctor…

Parliment of Whores Update – ‘Fore’ More Years

The lefts parliament of whores has convened in Charlotte and two important things happened.  First, Charlotte’s collective IQ dropped 70 points.  Second, they want four more years. Of what? Obama’s Abortion Jobs Economy

Obama's Abortion Jobs Economy
When You Make A "Mistake"...We've Got You Covered

I think I have finally figured it out.  All this emphasis by Democrats on abortion?  I think we’re in for a tectonic shift in left wing economic policy.  Starting with the upcoming Democrat National Convention, the new savior for a lagging economy with 16 trillion in debt, employment erosion, a flagging GDP, and more government created debt bubbles (not to mention the trillions more in entitlement debt and the likley collapse of Medicare and social security) is…the Abortion Jobs Economy.

That’s right.  Abortion jobs will save America.

Pot Calling The Kettle Black?

Yesterday I reported on a the efforts of NH Right to life (NHRTL) to challenge the legality of Planned (non) Parenthood’s (PP) pharmacy licenses now that they are no longer receiving funding directly from New Hampshire Taxpayers for preventing families.  (see Will Planned Parenthood in NH Lose its Pharmacist Licenses). NHRTL claims that the exemption PP receives is only valid when state funding is present from NH Health and Human Services.  Since they claim state funding is not, they say the exemption no longer applies.

Well, over at RH Reality Check, (Reproductive & Sexual Health and Justice) Robin Marty covers the story with the headline…New Hampshire Right to Life Falsely Attacks Planned Parenthood.  Is she right?

Surveys – a candidate’s conundrum (in some areas)

As a first-time candidate for elective office, I’m amazed at the number of surveys I’ve been sent by a whole bunch of different organizations wanting to know what I think about this or that and, depending upon how I think about this or that, they may or may not endorse me, send me money or “inform their members’ of my beliefs.  Some are obvious crackpots, most seem legitimate. I’ve answered those from organizations I believe to be serious and simply filed the ones I don’t.  But yesterday, I got one that, as a friend of mine would say, made me “throw up a little in my mouth”.  Allow me to share some just a couple of the questions (and my thoughts) with you:

3) Do you support the right of a minor woman to obtain abortion services without her parents’ consent, notification, or a court or agency order?

At last glance, NH law states that young people under the age of 18 cannot get married without their parents’ permission nor can they legally consent to having sex. If I…

Will Planned Parenthood in NH Lose Its Pharmacist Licenses

Don’t ask why but I got this story from of all places, Think Progress…

State law requires a licensed pharmacist to dispense prescriptions, but it contains an exemption for family-planning clinics if they operate under contract with the New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services.

In April, Right to Life filed a complaint with the Board of Pharmacy claiming that exemption no longer applies.

The presumption is that when the NH Executive council terminated State funding the relationship with NH-DES ended, thereby…um…aborting the exemption.

Abortion is an Act of Tyranny

Abortion is an act of tyranny.  It is the expression of  legal force against another life that denies that life the right to the property of living and every expression of existence that follows from it.  It denies these rights solely for the benefit of another (others), who have exchanged the risk of creation for their own pleasure.

Denying life for your own selfish pleasure; even excusing it because the state has made it legal?   How is that not tyranny?

The pursuit of pleasure is a function of human existence–an animal instinct.  And the promise of physical pleasure drives us toward intimate human contact.   Societies try to manage this relationship with institutions like religion, marriage, even our government, but in recent decades the government has viewed these institutions as inimical to “personal freedom,” and sought to enact laws that prevent these social or cultural institutions from functioning as a brake on the unbridled human weakness for sexual pleasure.  While the state should have a very limited if marginal interest in managing the terms of otherwise natural and productive human relationships, somewhere along the way the State has legalized a form of tyranny.
