The Windham Incident – Election Results vs Recount Totals

After November’s general election, Democrat Kristi St. Laurent requested a recount of the Windham State Representative race. The November 12 hand recount produced a 300-vote increase for all 4 Republican candidates and a 99-vote decrease for her. The recount didn’t change the outcome, but no one could explain the huge 6% increase in Republican votes … Read more

Gordon MacDonald

Impeach Gordon MacDonald Too.

A few days ago, Skip posted about an effort to impeach Chris Sununu: My response is: What the hell is there to investigate? The GOP “leaders” of the House and Senate should simply tell Chris to end his junk-science state-of-emergency (the purpose of which is to promote and advance the Chris Sununu brand, not to … Read more

Dave Wheeler Is An Honorable Man, Bob Clegg’s Disinformation Mailer Debunked!

People get passionate. I get it. But sometimes the passion builds to a point where it clouds senses and abilities to see things clearly. I believe this has happened in the race for the GOP Primary for the Executive Council District 5 seat that Dave Wheeler and Bob Clegg are vying for. I know and … Read more

Op-ED: NH Ways & Means Committee Member on Economic Recovery

From March 15th, days after the government restrictions went into crisis mode to May 9th, the latest reporting date at the NHES website, approximately 139,400 NH residents became unemployed. Based on our February workforce of about 780,200, that is just under an 18% unemployment level.

New Hampshire’s Bi-Partisan Usurpation of Local Control

Michael Kitch’s November 22, 2019 article in the NH Business Review; “Taking on NH’s housing ‘crisis’ – Task force’s recommendations ‘a long time coming’” praises the Governor’s new plan to manage housing in NH. The plan is not an enhancement of local control, but a gross usurpation of it.

Congressional District One Could Have Three Republican Candidates (All Named Matt)

Eddie Edwards lost to Chris Pappas in the 2018 mid-term congressional election. It was the first race in a long while in NH CD-1, where we didn’t have a Guinta or a Shea-Porter from which to choose. But as January approaches Edwards has not signaled a public interest in a do-over.

NH Dems Raise Taxes to Save the Planet? Same Government Can’t Teach Kids Remedial Math

New Hampshire Democrats are proposing a new scheme to steal 800 million dollars from Granite Staters (annually) under the banner of climate change. It will change “the climate.” The economic climate, oh, and your lifestyle, but it will have zero impact on the planet.

September

What was “Hot on the ‘Grok” for September?

Did you know that September is “better breakfast” month? What if you don’t eat breakfast? It is the month of 10 different observances or awareness campaigns and 11 foods. They are Bourbon, wine, chicken, honey, mushrooms – which together sound like an appetizer at any number of restaurants trying to up their foodie cred. September is … Read more

Representative, or Role Model?

As the discussion over Andy Sanborn’s Q Score heats up, I can’t help being reminded of Pete Rose, who — despite his singular accomplishments as a player — remains ineligible for the Baseball Hall of Fame. To paraphrase former major league outfielder Jim Dwyer:  The Hall of Fame is for baseball players.  Heaven is for … Read more

Guare, The No Win Case

Take a look at some of the more interesting parts of the 2014 Guare v. NH case that was meant to codify out-of-state, unqualified voter’s participation in New Hampshire elections. You can see how this case, in my opinion, was never meant to be won by “our side.” My comments are in parenthesis. Supreme Court … Read more

NH House of Representatives – No Shows

I’ve been asked on a number of occasions to run for the NH House of Representatives and have turned them down because of work responsibilities.  There was just no way to be able to keep my job AND do the job of a NH Rep correctly and fully. Plus, for full disclosure, when I ran … Read more

NH House Votes Against Resolution Urging a Pardon of Jerry DeLemus

The New Hampshire house took up HCR 11 today, A Resolution urging a pardon of Gerald “Jerry” DeLemus. Why? The court tossed out the government’s case because it (basically) hid evidence and lied. Gerry is only sitting in prison because the prosecutor badgered him into a plea deal before that ruling was ever made and he … Read more

Keeping Men out of the Ladies Room is a Partisan Issue in New Hampshire (Roll Call Included)

Yesterday the New Hampshire House had the opportunity to vote on HB478, an unnecessary piece of legislation that purported to create rights for people who already had them. What it actually did was advance the Democrat-Socialist deconstruction of sexuality by making it illegal to dismiss men from any accommodation on public or private property that previously … Read more

Points to Consider About New Hampshire’s Conversion Therapy and Gender Identity Bills

There are hearings today on HB 587 (gender transition) and HB 478 (discrimination based on gender identity). The former is a bad bill from last year recycled. The latter could result in your daughters, sisters, or wives having to share bathrooms and locker rooms with guys claiming to be girls. Cornerstone Policy Research has some points … Read more

Another Stupid Bloomberg Anti-Gun Bill Dies in the NH House – See How Your Rep. Voted

Yesterday it was HB350. Today HB 201, AN ACT requiring background checks for commercial firearms sales. To quote Representative John Burt, Through this conflated language, this bill would shut down firearm sales and training in New Hampshire by making the process so complicated and expensive that none could comply.  That was the point of the legislation!
