What was “Hot on the ‘Grok” for September?

by
Steve MacDonald

Did you know that September is “better breakfast” month? What if you don’t eat breakfast?

It is the month of 10 different observances or awareness campaigns and 11 foods. They are Bourbon, wine, chicken, honey, mushrooms – which together sound like an appetizer at any number of restaurants trying to up their foodie cred. September is also the month of Italian cheese, papaya, potato, rice (two kinds), and whole grains. Yes. It is whole grains awareness month, as opposed to half grains or my favorite, no pains no grains.

It’s also time for our monthly roundup of the posts more of our readers…read.

September 2018 had the New Hampshire Primary but only one story leading up to it got any serious traction. By serious, I mean enough views to make the top ten. But we had other pressing business, did we not? Brett Kavanaugh, Hurricane reporting, Antifa, Education, North Country Politics, Levi Strauss, Bill Greiner (who runs Bedford) and Eddie Edwards garnered the most eyeballs during Hydrocephalus Awareness Month. Though it may go down as the month we launched Grok 3.0. Maybe.

Whatever the historians recall in ages yet to come, here is your, and yes they are yours, top ten most viewed posts for the month of September.

#10 “I fully support the Second Amendment!” – no, you don’t, Mr. Edwards
by Skip Murphy

“He made it clear that he was against allowing teachers and staff being armed, that we had law enforcement to respond to such an active shooter situation and that teachers should not have guns in schools.”

#9 Kittery Trading Post Protest: Ignorance Rules the Day for the Gun Control Crowd
by Kimberly Morin

“Of course, neither “Resistance Seacoast” or “Kittery Trading Post Action Group” know exactly what a semi-automatic rifle is but that doesn’t stop them from trying to have certain ones banned.”

#8 Was This Kavanaugh Hearing Protester Paid to “Play?”
by Op-Ed

“At the Senate hearing for Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh, this woman screamed about stopping Kavanaugh from being approved. Made a scene. You know the drill. … The same woman is photographed outside receiving money for her performance.”

#7 Weather Channel Guy ‘Fighting High Winds’ More Fake News
by Steve MacDonald

“He’s trying to do his report in what appears to be very high winds. Leaning forward, and shifting his stance to stay upright. He’s really working it. Thespis would be proud. Because while he’s giving his performance, two guys walk into the back of the shot and for some reason, the winds are different where they are.”

#6 A bit more on Antifa calling to disarm “fascists” – not such a hot idea
by Skip Murphy

“Grokster Rick who served as a US Marine, headed up the armory at Parris Island, is a former police officer, and is an expert firearms instructor. So at our impromptu Grokster gathering, he did an impromptu video lesson as to why things would not go well for Antifa if they tried such an act.”

#5 The Democrat agenda of Personal Destruction promulgated by Elizabeth Ruediger
by Skip Murphy

“Did you happen to catch the intimidation, the pillory-ization, the destruction – all in the support of Power Above All Else?  #MeToo?  Sexism? Misogyny? Violence? Domestic Abuse? They all disappeared from Elizabeth Ruediger’s vocabulary with this:”

#4 “Three Graphs and Two Jokes” – Ian Underwood’s Testimony on HB356
by Skip Murphy

“Unfortunately, I don’t think Melanson, Christina, or several others thought much at all on his words.  That’s why we’re going bankrupt.”

#3 Levi Strauss has just thrown in with gun control group Everytown for Gun Safety
by Skip Murphy

“Are you hopeful that what Dick’s Sporting Goods did to themselves by turning into a gun restriction supporter won’t hurt your bottom line?”

#2 Bedford – Bill Greiner Goes After Local Family Man for Objecting to His Plans
by Steve MacDonald

“Bill’s got a lot of money and this appears to mean more to Bill than just being successful. It means he can push people around. Correction. It means that he thinks he can push people around and that he’s been successful doing that. Why else send an email to the employer of a resident to try and shut him up?”

#1 Fake Hurricane News – CNN Busted
by Steve MacDonald

“Anderson Cooper reports from hurricane ‘ravaged’ [insert name here] wearing waders and up to his waist in water. But that’s only because he chose to stand in a ditch along the side of the road.”
