“This is the moment that Donald Trump became the President”

Remember as you read this, I was a Cruz guy.

I’ve been watching these kinds of speeches intently for the last decade and I have to say this was about the best I’ve ever seen.  Given that it was Trump, and having watched a lot of his speeches, I was amazed at its construction, his wording, and its content.  It WAS good, indeed; sufficiently so that even Van Jones, self-avowed Communist and “Green” advisor to Obama, said that this was the moment Trump became President:

…He became President of the United States in that moment. Period. There are a lot of people who have a lot of reason to be frustrated with him, to be fearful of him. But that was one of the most extraordinary moments you’ve ever seen in American politics. Period. And he did something extraordinary.

…But he did something tonight that you cannot take away from him. He became President of the United States.

I would have to agree.  A lot of us on the Right

A reminder about how the Minimum Wage came about – and its not pretty

“As I’ve said on other occasions: compared to (most of) today’s advocates of the minimum wage, the minimum-wage’s early advocates had far worse ethics but a far better grasp of economics. These early advocates of the minimum wage correctly understood not only that the minimum wage destroys jobs for some low-skilled workers, but also that … Read more

“My job is to shut other white people down…”

The full quote that has everyone’s attention.  By Sally Boynton Brown, the current Executive Director of the Idaho Democrat Party, who is vying for the DNC Chairmanship:

I’m a white woman. I don’t get it. I’m pleased and honored to be here today to have the conversation. I’m so excited that we’re here. I am listening, because that’s my job. My job is to listen to the issues. My job is to listen and be a voice. And my job is to shut other white people down when they want to interrupt. My job is to shut other white people down when they want to say, “Oh no, I’m not prejudiced. I’m a Democrat. I’m accepting. My job is to make sure that they get that they have privilege.”

Funny definition of “listening”.  Funny definition of a DNC Chair responsibility to go “Hey, you WHITE people – SHUT UP!”  And funny definition of “accepting”.

Wait – there’s MORE!

Another worthless Obama legacy ready to be dissolved

OK, a bit late on this as Prager U posted it on the 16th – 4 days before Trump’s Inauguration so Gina McCarthy (EPA head) and President Obama are now gone.  And I will make the prediction that Trump will cancel this by Executive Order. SURE he can – even though Obama sent $100s of … Read more

“Hey, hey, Ho, ho, Donald Trump has got to go!” – the Media

Well THAT didn’t take long, did it?  Trump’s honeymoon, if one could call it that, last all of, oh, six seconds with the mainstream media.  I’ve been watching this stuff since I turned 18 (and very intensely the last 10) and it’s like Groundhog Day.  It just seems that once a Republican enters the Oval Office, there is a renewed vigor (and no small amount of snark and anger) to what seems to be a long period of somnambulance,  the MSM realizes that it should be asking the tough questions and doing the in-depth reporting once again.

Ha!  Who am I kidding?  They don’t – they just switch modes off and on and after watching them intensely for 10 years, it is clear that the Rs get the more attitude and persistence as well as an entirely different crop type of questions.  Slow pitch softball vs fast pitch baseball (with spikes.  Out of a bazooka).  These dolts in the MSM just don’t seem to understand that every time they act this way, they aren’t being the Fourth Estate, they’re just confirming the bias that most of us see daily.  Remember, it isn’t just how they cover the news but WHICH news they cover – and what film they leave on the floor.  They still think that they are the gatekeepers and the ones to “interpret the news for us”.  After all, they are the edumacated ones in the who, what, when, where, and how, right?

Er, no.  Those basics were supplanted a long time ago with the famous phrase by Glenn Reynolds (the Blogfaddah and owner of Instapundit):
