NoLabels, NoWay

I think I nailed it on the head (here) back on November 17th with my first impression of the group NoLabels.  But now that the Live Free or Die Alliance (LFDA), whom I have often opined springs from the same pedigree of liberal-fronted groups pretending to be middling ports of in-betweenedness in the political/ideological storm, is seeking the opinion of its members on NoLabels effort to penetrate New Hampshire, it is time to revisit this.

Let me save you the trouble of wondering what they are about.  I believe NoLabels goal is to shift the electorate to the left.  Their first, and so far only plank, is to open primaries to everyone who can vote.   Now ask yourself, who does that help?

Why Just One?

Question: If refusing to let one man “marry” another man violates his or their ‘civil rights’ then why is it not a violation of said same civil rights to then refuse to let one or both of them marry a second, third or forth man?

FaceBook Doodlings – what to cut?

 

OK, I got into Twitter because some of my Samsphere friends gave me a shove.  Did it for a while, but after a month or so, realized that while it works for a lot of folks, I still prefer blogging.   FaceBook was a similar thing – at first.  Now, I find that (perhaps), I spend more time than planned on keeping discussions going.  So, just like my Email Doodlings, there will be some reporting back here as well.  Note: minor reformatting and editing will be done to "bloggify" an FB comment thread.

Well, I think that Jim Bender (former candidate to be the Republican nominee for US Senator here in NH who I got the opportunity to talk to a lot) is becoming a bit of a Sarah Palin.  NO, he’s not going "girlie man"; rather, he throws something out on FB and a number of people break out into discussion mode.  On this thread, he simply put up a video Idiots guide to public sector that produces no wealth (11Nov10)  (Note: has been yanked from YouTube since Jim posted it).

Well, a few comments were made, and then The Challenge was made by one of the more liberal folks on that thread:

There’s certainly no doubt that republicans and democrats alike (or conservatives and liberals alike, if you prefer) have built an enormous, expensive and unwieldy government over the past 50 or more years; or that, as a county, we’ve been …living beyond our means (or at least beyond what we’ve been willing to pay for) for at least the past 30 years. It’s time to pay up, America.

Now the question is what to cut and I look forward to that debate. Waste, fraud and abuse is the popular refrain but, even if we eliminate that (which would amaze me), the effect will be negligible.

Over here, you’ll find Senator Shaheen crowing about how great the new food safety bill is, and how she, Senator Jeanne Shaheen, helped pass it. (It’s crap like all the other dem bills but that’s not why she’s an ass.)
She is an ass because (and if it makes you feel better Judd Gregg is an ass for being both a co-sponsor and a yeah vote) there are provisions in this Senate bill (S510) that….raise taxes.

James Sununu, a political and business consultant, is seriously considering a run for New Hampshire Republican Party Chair if his father John H. Sununu officially declines to seek another term, WMURPoliticalScoop.com has learned.

You know, way back when, I made no points with the Sununu clan when I pointed out that Shaheen was shaping the political battlefield as Son #1 did nothing for a campaign. Did that post spur him into finally turning on spigot in keeping his Senatorial seat?  Who knows?  Was his elongated silence as Shaheen clobbered him for a couple of months a factor in the race?  Most likely.  My post?  Hardly….other than it got picked up, at the time, by a couple of DC based publications.

Son #2 is now an Executive Councilor – congratulations (really!).  Serve well.

But this is a bit much. First Juliana Bergeron’s name was floated out as being "The Pick".  Now, Son #3’s name?  Another handpicked name for successor?  Let’s be fair – Gov. Stieg Larsson Is A Dead Marxist

IImage Credit: Shelfari had occasion to spend an above average amount of time in the "reading room" over the weekend.  No need to go into specifics but perhaps the words Whole Bowel Cleanse, give you some idea of what I mean.

While so positioned, I managed to cram all 590 pages of Stieg Larsson’s book ‘The girl with the dragon tattoo‘ into my reading diet and let me say this; if you can get past the first 190 pages the next 400 are worth the time.  I enjoyed the bulk of the book immensely, despite the fact that I was trapped in "the reading room" and that it was written by a now dead Marxist.

Caucus to focus first on training lawmakers, then on uniting behind laws to secure individual rights

CONCORD, N.H.?A group of principled New Hampshire Legislators has organized a Natural Rights Caucus to ensure that an effective freshmen class can work with senior members to advance legislation that guarantees equal treatment under the law and defends individual rights to life, liberty and property.

The non-partisan Natural Rights Caucus, which will be narrowly focused on laws that advance the principles in Part I, Article 2 of the New Hampshire Constitution, held its first official meeting on Saturday, Nov. 27 in Concord to help freshmen members learn how to be successful in the House and Senate. Former Rep. Don Gorman, a four-term House member, led the training meeting that attracted a committed group of about 20 state Legislators during the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.

“It was very rewarding to lead a group of legislators who truly want to do what’s best for the people of New Hampshire,” Gorman said. “The dialogue was superior during the training session, and I’m confident this caucus is going to be influential in the state Legislature.”

To be clear, the Natural Rights Caucus will focus first on training its freshmen members leading up to the 2011-2012 Legislative session. Training will include lessons on proper decorum and rules of order, how to provide efficient testimony in committees, how to build effective coalitions, and how to avoid being intimidated or misled by senior members, agencies or lobbyists.

Members of the Natural Rights Caucus will then use their training to work as a voting bloc during the session. The caucus will be dedicated to preserving the rights of all New Hampshire citizens as articulated in Part I, Article 2 of the New Hampshire Constitution: “All men have certain natural, essential and inherent rights, among which are, the enjoying and defending life and liberty; acquiring, possessing, and protecting property; and in a word, of seeking and obtaining happiness. Progressives tell the lie that Capitalism is a form of Morality; it is not

Many on the Left, the Progressives and the Socialists, wish to do away with capitalism.  Always, they run down the excesses of the capitalistic system and that it does not treat all people fairly.  They lie.

Their goal is to get YOU to believe as they do: that our capitalistic economic system is the same as a moral system.  They decry inequity in that some seem to benefit more than others.  They decry and infer that Capitalists only benefit by screwing over the poor.  Thus, they say that capitalism is a failed moral system because of this and MUST be thrown away and be replaced by one that is guided by technocrats that dispassionately decide what needs to be done by who and how much to have an ‘efficient society’.  And this is different from fascism (another name for state corporatism) – how?
