There is a good deal of fiscal saber rattling on the left about the recent House vote to "cut taxes for the middle class" because Hodesheaporter would like to go out on the record as supporting tax cuts.
Sorry. That is not going to work.
What is going to work however is this. All those years of left wing class warfare about cuts for the rich but none for the rest of us we’re liberal lies. Plain and simple. You can’t extend something that does not exist–extending them is an admission of the lie.
Second, extending something that does exist is not a cut. It is ‘business as usual.’ It is the same level of taxation across the majority of the so-called lost decade. The rates on January 1st will be no lower for the middle class than they are today.
So to claim you have passed a middle class tax cut, is also an outright lie.
They will of course cling to the lie so we can happily cling to their contradictions; and the reality that the US House voted to raise taxes during a recession, while lying about it to everyone.
