WSJ- Congress Abetted the IRS Targeting of Conservatives.

On Monday the Center for Competitive Politics filed a complaint with the Senate Select Committee on Ethics against nine U.S. senators: for interfering with IRS tax proceedings; for misusing official resources for campaign purposes; and for improper conduct that reflects poorly upon the Senate. Attempting to use the IRS to advance a partisan, electoral agenda is a fundamental assault on good government. We believe these elected officials have staged such an assault.

NICS Names for Cash.  Congress empowers states to blacklist gun owners in exchange for more Federal Dollars.

Without fanfare, and well below the radar of almost everyone, the US House of Representatives has just enabled New York State (and any other State contributing to the NICS database) to violate HIPAA laws and revoke gun permits without justification or cause. It sounds too crazy to be true, and most would think that defenders of the 2nd Amendment would prevent such a violation of rights to occur, but that is not the case.

When I heard that COSMOS was coming back on I was a bit excited–for a few seconds.  I enjoyed the original, way back when, though I was not tuned in at the time to potential abuses of the medium for axe-grinding or propaganda.

The first episode of the new COSMOS wasted no time demonstrating that axe-grinding and propaganda were part and parcel of its entertainment experience.  “Science” would be at the beck and ca of the writers, who proved themselves to be liberals, likely funded with money from liberals, who were going to use the show to grind their axes.

This week, it may have aired already, was the “Global Warming is a fact and we have to do something for the children” episode.  I watch 24 and there were ads. A lot of ads.  With scary images.  It was like Leni Riefenstahl had written an episode of COSMOS for the greater glory of the rent-seeking climate fascists and their media allies.

That’s right – recently appointed to the NH Board of Education,  William Tucker is one of those that seemingly believes that only Government schools manned by union teachers should be the ONLY form of education for our children.  After all, we’ve seen such stunning scholastic successes with this 140 year way of doing business – educational factories turning out cogs for Society’s machine of life.  Simply, churn out that workforce.  ‘Cept in too many cases, neither Johnny or Mary can read, write, or do math (but can spout the current PC nonsense of diversity and social justice, thanks to the Bill Ayers radicals teaching the teachers, ayup). So news that there are no longer any public schools in New Orleans and that it is working, must be shaking Tucker to the core (emphasis mine and reformatted):

…With the start of the next school year, the Recovery School District will be the first in the country made up completely of public charter schools, a milestone for New Orleans and a grand experiment in urban education for the nation.

Now, 42 states encourage charters as an alternative to conventional schools, and enrollment has been growing, particularly in cities. In the District of Columbia, 44 percent of the city’s students attend charter schools.   But in New Orleans, under the Recovery School District, the Louisiana state agency that seized control of almost all public schools after Hurricane Katrina ravaged the city in 2005, the traditional system has been swept away.

Governor Maggie Wood Hassan–I’m surprised we’re not calling her Mags, in the same vein by which candidate Ann McLane Kuster became ‘Annie’–executed a travel ban on the state of New Hampshire’s public employees, but excluded herself.  Governor Hassan is traveling to the land of Turkey and it is difficult to soar with eagles when you fly to Turkey–in contradiction to your own budget tightening nostrums.

But then Margret is a contradiction factory…can we call her Peg? Mags Hassan is a recipient of the Order of NARAL, a member of the Sisterhood of the Travelling Specula, one of those names on EMILY’s list that has not been aborted but lives to defend the practice of turning wombs into Auschwitz while ranting about how ensuring that women can extinguish female babies at will is a women’s health issue.  So while a travel ban with an executive waiver is an issue, that is not the contradiction of which I speak.
