The caption for the photo on page one of Wednesday’s (9/10/2014) Laconia Daily Sun (laconiadailysun.com) describes the Thomas-Burchell race for County Commissioner as “symbolic of … the poison relationship between the Belknap County commissioners and the controlling majority of the Belknap County Convention”.

The “poison” was created by the Belknap County Commissioners and their special interest supporters in response to the County Convention lawfully and Constitutionally exercising their duties to control the Belknap County appropriations to meet the needs of the county and to reflect the wishes of the voters of Belknap County who object to continually increasing county spending and an outrageously expensive 5-Star jail proposal.

The County Commissioners frequently shifted money in the approved County budget.  They have reportedly over-spent by over $200,000 in some areas by shorting funds in other areas.  This shift has been contrary to the lawful budget and without the approval (required for shifting funds) of the County Convention.  The recent court decision indicated that these actions by the County Commissioners were illegal.

It is a suitable whipping boy when you need it, and a laxative when you want it…

In a May 2013 speech to a military audience at the National Defense University, Mr. Obama portrayed the law (President Bush’s Authorization for Use of Military Force resolution in 2001) as dated and as a potential blank check to get the U.S. into wars.

“The AUMF is now nearly 12 years old,” he said. “Unless we discipline our thinking, our definitions, our actions, we may be drawn into more wars we don’t need to fight, or continue to grant presidents unbound powers more suited for traditional armed conflicts between nation states.”

The White House now claims that President Bush’s Authorization for Use of Military Force resolution gives Mr. Obama the unilateral authority to unbind the colon of presidential power, allowing him to use military force in Iraq whenever it pleases him to do so.

Code Pink, to their credit, object to Obama’s “war mongering” but they’ve found that things are different now…

I have been commenting about this kind of stuff for years now: journalists that aren’t.  Members of the MainStream Media (MSM) that have “progressed” past the traditional “who, what, when, why, and how”, past the “afflict the comfortable and comfort the afflicted” to “make the world a better place”.

The first is reporting the news – straight up and down and as unbiased as possible.

The second started the trot towards advocacy and away from what most want – a faithful reporting of the news.

And now for the last few decades, we have seen the bias in the MSM to the point where it is rather antagonistic towards the half of the US population that is not Liberal (much to the profit of Fox News that was built to service this “under-served” market sector – and has gone on to clean the other MSM outlets’ collective clocks). And now, we see one of the Liberal uber-start, Chuck Todd (newly anointed to ascend to the MSM’s version of Nirvana: host of Meet The Press) perhaps now figuring that out:

Well, that would be a good start.  In fact, it shouldn’t even be controversial – this should be a given for pretty much the Republican President next elected in 2016 given how much Obama has pushed the boundaries of Executive Imperialship (putting both Bush II and Nixon to shame). 

Roll it back should be heard in a constant din from November 7th onward in the process of making government smaller and Citizens Larger.  You know, the way it used to be (and the way it was supposed to be).

Having just won her primary a few days ago Marilinda Garcia has already done something no Democrat woman elected to Federal office from New Hampshire have done, at least in recent memory.  She is holding a…..(dramatic crescendo!)  Town hall meeting.

Her opponent Ann ‘Where is Benghazi?’ Kuster, is invited to take questions along-side Garcia, but has not–as yet–responded to the invitation.

I’d be very surprised to see Kuster accept…

Maybe.  Check out what happened in Lynn MA.  (Maybe, it’s just a coincidence?)  Wonder if it could happen here?  Well, maybe if Shaheen, Shea-Porter, and Kuster support Obama’s amnesty plan.  You should ask them where they stand on it, so what I point out below, doesn’t happen in New Hampshire. The amount of new foreign born student admissions has nearly doubled in the last two years. This school year alone saw more than 600 new admissions. Among those students, 248 were from Guatemala. Flanagan Kennedy says of those 248 children, 126 were illegal, undocumented minors.

“They are not literate in any language, so they do need some skills. And I assume they are enrolling in school to receive those skills,” said Catherine Latham, Lynn’s superintendent of schools…

Apparently they do not have any documentation, of age, vaccinations, nada…but, alas…

“The law states Lynn schools cannot deny enrollment to anybody solely on the basis of not having paperwork. The law also says students have to be vaccinated.

And if any student doesn’t have insurance, the city of Lynn picks up the tab for administering the injections.

Public Health Director MaryAnn O’Connor said she estimates the department has seen a 200 percent increase in vaccinations over the last couple years. O’Connor has also had to hire two additional part-time staff members and had to start a tuberculosis clinic for a huge spike in cases over the last two years.”

You’ve probably heard the phrase “so stupid only an intellectual could think of it”?

At Ohio State University, to avoid being guilty of “sexual assault” or “sexual violence,” you and your partner now apparently have to agree on the reason WHY you are making out or having sex.  It’s not enough to agree to DO it, you have to agree on : there has to be agreement “regarding the who, what, where, when, why, and how this sexual activity will take place.”

Why do college students want to have sex?  It feels good?  Everyone else was doing it?   It was the tequila?  Years of cultural Marxism from the education establishment promoting promiscuity, sexual exploration, sodomy, multiple partners, access to contraceptives…(while attacking abstinence, monogamy, and traditional marriage)?

“Every year the National Committee on Pay Equity (NCPE) publicizes its “Equal Pay Day” to bring public attention to the gender pay gap. “Equal Pay Day” this year fell on April 14, and allegedly represents how far into 2014 the average woman had to continue working to earn the same income that the average man earned last year. Inspired by Equal Pay Day, Iintroduced “Equal Occupational Fatality Day” in 2010 to bring public attention to the huge gender disparity in work-related deaths every year in the United States. “Equal Occupational Fatality Day” tells us how many years into the future women would have to work before they would experience the same number of occupational fatalities that occurred in the previous year for men.“

It does show that talking about equal pay often doesn’t take into account the danger factor of the jobs that the different sex gravitate to.  And while most people will agree that equal skills, equal experience, and equal education should receive equal pay, what is not oft discussed is the differences in motivation, drive, and persistence.  Why?  IMHO, those things are much harder to quantify and thus, harder to compare.  Yet, they do have much to do with the compensation that one receives – not matter what the “least common denominator” arguers want to say. And another is the relative danger of a given job and the risk that someone is willing to accept.  Thus, the data tends to show the difference – will the equal pay folks start to demand not that women get paid more but that they take on more risk and put themselves into more dangerous positions and earn the same as the men in those riskier careers? Oh yeah, let’s also add “Free Stater” to that list, too!  Take those words out of their lexicon, all you’d have left would be jaws going up and down.  Without those adjectives (hurled as epithats), they’d have nothing to say and no one to excoriate.  And that would suck for them.  Listen to Ray Buckley, the head of the NH Dem Party – stripped of the ability to go ad hominem, what would he have left?  Or Zandra Rice-Hawkins?  Or Silver Spoon Harrel Kirstein, for that matter (just for a few).
