Violent Crime Survey – Democrat Cities Are Murder

Violent Crime Survey

The Truth About Guns (H/T to Susan Olsen) is reporting on the most recent Major Cities Chiefs Association (MCCA) report on violent crime in major US cities. And unless you are a liberal water-carrier not a lot of explanation for this is needed.

And when we break down the top 20 cities at the top of the list, a few illuminating (although not-so-surprising) facts emerge:

  • 80% of the top 20 Deadliest American Cities are run by Democrats
  • 100% of the top 10 Deadliest Cities in America are… you guessed it: run by Democrats

Trump SCOTUS “Kennedy Replacement” List Down To Two

Judges Barrett and Kavanaugh
And then there were two: Judges Barrett and Kavanaugh

We’ll know the next Supreme Court nominee’s name on Monday, but by all accounts, the choices are already down to two.

CBS News has learned that D.C. Circuit Court Judge Brett Kavanaugh and Chicago Circuit Court Judge Amy Coney Barrett are currently Mr. Trump’s leading contenders for the appointment to the nation’s highest court.

A brief tour of the interwebs suggests that Barrett is the odds-on favorite. She’s a solid originalist and textualist  (she clerked for Scalia), and thanks to two other points her confirmation hearing could be a Yuge win for Trump.

If We Had Listened to ‘Never Trump’

neil-gorsuch-donald-trumpAs I poke around the internet dumpster fire for salvageable scraps that amuse me, I tripped over this. It’s Good.

It’s good because it points out not just how the ruling class yahoos who refused to vote for Trump (like, say, Kelly Ayotte) were not just wrong, they are WHY WE HAVE TRUMP!

If we had listened to Never Trump, we’d have voted for Felonia Milhous von Pantsuit and we would not only have Merrick Garland (or worse) on the SCOTUS but now she’d be picking another pinko who agrees with the lib bloc that the First Amendment has hitherto unknown asterisks that prevent conservatives from using it, that a bunch of other rights that aren’t in the Constitution actually are, and that the Second Amendment stuff about not infringing on our right to keep and bear arms really means libs can totally infringe on our right to keep and bear arms.

Target Shooting Under Fire…Again

Target Shooting under fire again. Target Shooting has grown. More people are target shooting, yet the range options are shrinking.  More publicly available land is getting closed down to target shooting. Not for the reasons many think, either. The highly vocal hyperbolic, anti-second Amendment crowd is indeed out there, but the guns themselves aren’t the lynch pins…It is the land…the use of the land.

As many Grok readers know, I have been the leader of one of Southern New Hampshire’s Largest sporting clubs with over 1,500 members.  In addition, the Londonderry Fish & Game Club also has eight ranges for firearm use to include a newly constructed 200-400 Yard Range. I have spent countless thousands of hours pressing forward with the planning and design efforts that have now come to full fruition at our wonderful facility.

Ann Kuster Helps Put Salem Taxpayers on a Great Big Hook

Salem-NHFor whatever reason, the taxpayers in Salem, New Hampshire have not provided budgets for their fire department to add the personnel or equipment the ‘chief’ thinks they need.  But,

Now, thanks to a $1.5 million SAFER grant from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Parisi has been able to add eight new firefighters, increasing each of his four shift rotations from 15 to 17 members.

Salem has added staff for which the feds are only paying 75% for the first two years and 35% for the third. After that, Salem Taxpayers are on the hook for all of it.

Why Did Socialist Dem Darling Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Lie?

Alexandria Ocasio-CortezThe Daily Mail broke a story about Socialist Dem darling Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. She’s the candidate who beat the long-time Democrat incumbent Joe Crowley who was in line for a shot at a Speaker gig if the Democrats took back the House. Well, Alexandria sold herself as a Jenny from the block sort. The kid from a working-class family growing up on the tough streets of Brooklyn.

Not so much.

DOJ Employee Faces Hatch Act Violations for Involvement in Mob

Kristjen NeilsonOne of the ‘mob’ who chased Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen from a Mexican restaurant last month is 1) working with the Democrat Socialists of America (whom I just wrote about here) and b) is a Department of Justice employee who is officially under investigation.

Federal Hatch Act investigators have opened a complaint file on the Justice Department employee who was part of a mob that chased Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen from a restaurant earlier last month.

GraniteGrok’s Top-10 Heavy Hitter’s for June 2018

Grok Heavy Hitters - June 2018You had over 250 new posts to choose from for “June 2018” our first full month back to reporting on reader favorites after a brief respite at the hands of hackers in faraway lands. And yes, there are a few that just went up in late June that could “make the cut,” in July. So. I’ve decided to roll into the last week of every previous month looking for contenders to make sure they get a fair shake.

This June, eight of the top ten have New Hampshire specific references in the title. One of those remaining two relates to deliberate political action in New Hampshire. And the single outlier catalogs liberal hypocrisy on the separating minors narrative that dominated half the month’s news cycle.

Grok Poll: Amend the NH Constitution to Get the Courts Out of Education Funding?

Education spending piggy bank shutterstock_2803878-600x385

SeacoastOnline reports that New Hampshire Governor Chris Sununu would support an effort to get the courts out of the educational funding morass.

“The only way to undo (the current system) is a constitutional amendment, which I would fight for any day of the week – as soon as we get a Legislature that will actually pass one,” said Sununu. “I’m all for it. And even just amending to just ‘the Legislature decides.’ Your representatives, the most representative body on the planet… decide amongst themselves what the formula is, how the funds get dispersed and ensure there is an adequate education.”

Iran: Where Obama Appeased Trump Brings the Pain

Iran-Map-22-620x350Here’s something you probably missed in your diet of Cable News, if you can even stomach that stuff. Since Trump dumped the Iran deal and introduced sanctions, Iranian currency has lost 40% of its value.

The rial has lost 40 per cent of its value since last month, when President Donald Trump pulled out of Iran’s 2015 nuclear accord and announced draconian sanctions on Tehran.

These include an attempt to shut down the international sale of Iranian oil, Tehran’s main source of revenue, a threat that has cast a chill over the economy.

“When are Democrats and Republicans going to hold their own party to account?”

By Eddie

ObamaHitlerBushitlerWe hear it all the time Nazi, Fascist, Hitler. The comparisons are routine and common place. What recent President hasn’t been compared to the third Reich in some fashion? Democrats call Republicans fascists and vice versa. It is probably the most overused metaphor, analogy, comparison or derogatory name used in politics… and outside of politics. We all know the Soup Nazi (from the Seinfeld show). We call ISIS Islamo-fascists, whatever that means. Fox is the Nazi channel (according to liberals). The theme appears to be that Nazi’s are bad people.

What is Fascism anyhow? According to Webster it is a philosophy that puts nation before the individual. It often has a racial connotation as well. While racism may not have escaped our constitution, nationalism did.

Reputation and Practice

If [an individual’s] publicly known irresponsibilities do not serve to blemish that individual’s reputation amongst his co-ideologists, then it is fair to assume that his practice is an acceptable practice of the movement. William F. Buckley r.

We Stopped Talking About Offshoring Because Trump’s Tax Cuts Made On-shoring a Better Investment.

taxesRemember the Panama Papers? The April 2016 scandal exposed shell corporations, anonymous owners, and the practice of keeping corporate profits offshore to avoid high taxes. All perfectly legal. But it set the left into a tizzy (because it doesn’t take much) whose head-spin produced calls for national registries of company owners and all sort of new laws regarding transparency.

The real goal of government intervention while sold as consumer protection or crime-fighting was to figure out how State’s might profit by taxing that “hidden wealth.”

Heat and Heart Health as the 4th of July Approaches

Outdoors people picnicHigh heat presents a danger to everyone but if you’ve had a cardiac event you have to pay a bit more attention to the temperature. Medications that slow heart rate reduce the efficiency with which blood flow can help dissipate body heat. Others exaggerate the body’s response to heat. And at no point do you want to make a damaged heart work harder to compensate for excessive exposure to high temperatures.

So, I’m writing this from an air-conditioned room.

Has the Democrat Party Openly Embraced – “No ban. No wall. No borders at all”?

US-Mexico_border_fenceRemember “Occupy Wall Street?” How about “Black Lives Matter (BLM)?” “The Women’s March?” Do you know what they have in common? They are all progressive movements within the radical left crafted to create media sensationalism so that so-called main-stream Democrat politicians can use their ‘outcry’ to push far-left policy prescriptions.

Would you be surprised to discover that the hew and cry over “separating families” at the border is no different?
