After all, it was the fact that the British Army was sent disarm the Colonists that gave rise to The Shot Heard ‘Round the World – leading to our Revolutionary War that helped gain us our Independence. However, if the anti-gunners of today like NH State Rep Katherine Rogers (that are all about civilian disarmament) were alive and kvetching back then, we’d still be singing “God Save The Queen” as all males at that time either had their own “weapon of war” (including repeating arms) or the town had to supply one. She would have confiscated them forthwith.
Oh, WAIT – that would have made her a RedCoat and a traitor to the nascent American country, wouldn’t it?
Have a wonderful time reflecting on the sacrifices that our Founding Fathers made in starting this country that it was the Individual that was of primary importance and that Government was created to protect our Liberties (and not, as Rogers and her ideological kin believe, exists to force us to “evolve” to be better (whatever that means – I have my doubts they do either but they do want the Power to be able to shove people around (or in her case, smack people around))).
