Before the words were out of his mouth, the Women’s March sent out a press release to everyone in the media protesting the awful, horrible, Trump Nominee, but they forgot to replace the XX in their draft with an actual name.

This is What I Want In a Supreme Court Judge

The guy is a textualist who opposes a reimagining of the separation of powers.  That includes courts and bureaucrats who too often think they get to decide what things mean instead of making Legislators do it.

Kavanaugh is a committed textualist. As Kavanaugh succinctly stated in a book review published in the Harvard Law Review, “The text of the law is the law.” He has reiterated this view in many of his opinions.

New Hampshire Governors, like every elected officer of the State and many appointed officers take an oath to uphold The Constitution of the State of New Hampshire, and the Constitution for the United States of America. However, I would wager most do not know these documents to well enough to know the full scope of or limitations upon the office they hold. Part 1, Article 24 of the Constitution of the State of New Hampshire proclaims:

“A well regulated militia is the proper, natural, and sure defense, of a State.”

Fair warning: This will get a little “sciencey” but don’t fear it can’t get too “sciencey” since I’m not a scientist (now I’m sounding like a Republican).

Let’s start with Newton’s LAWS of Motion and Gravitation. Huh? I know, I’m taking you down another path, but I’ll get to the point eventually. Let’s talk about his 2nd LAW of motion which states that F=MA (force = mass times acceleration). Let’s say that I don’t believe this. There is simply not enough evidence of this LAW. It can’t be true. “What is your alternate theory?” You might ask. It’s not F=MA, that’s for sure. I pushed real hard against my car and it didn’t move an inch. I also have a brother who skydives. He tells me that he stops accelerating after a few seconds. You might reply with explanations of ‘vector sum of forces’, ‘coefficients of static friction’ and ‘wind resistance’. I could keep going, but the point is that I DON’T have a theory. I am simply denying the only theory present. I had a college Physics professor who had a term for this. He would say “It’s so bad, it’s not even wrong.”

CNHTLike NH’s First Congressional District (NH CD-1), there are plenty of candidates to look at/worry over (depending on your political point of view) in CD-2. It is different than CD-1 where it is an open seat (again, Carol Shea-Porter has grabbed the Congressional retirement gold ring and bailed).

Self-proclaimed uber-Progressive Annie Kuster is gunning for another term. How quaint that term “uber-Progressive” as she was certainly that back when she first ran and now the Democrat Party is going full communism. After all, just ask the Berni-bros in the Democrat Socialists Of America wing. They are dumping ALL pretense of just being socialists and are loudly proclaiming the wonders and delights of full-on Communism while tactfully ignoring that the Full Monty version of their now beloved Communism also resulted in over 100 million deaths of their own citizens in putting it into place. But hey, that’s why they use that “broken eggs/omlette” stupidity.

Not One A+ for the New Hampshire Republican Majority Senate in 2018

NH SenateA Senate is typically the single biggest barrier to prosperity in government. State Senators are few in number, lobbied heavily, prone to moderate their positions and easily influenced by donors.

So when I reviewed AFP New Hampshire’s 2018 Legislative Scorecard and found no A+ grades and only two A’s in a Republican majority State Senate, I was not the least bit surprised.

CNHT Picnic – Or as Thomas Edison once said…

With almost no time to prepare we will be taking a test flight of some new equipment at this years CNHT Annual Taxpayer Family Reunion Picnic in Hillsborough. If you are there, and you should be, we’ll be (most likely) set up in the far left corner from the main entrance (by the emergency exit). Come watch Skip wrinkle his brow as he looks over the top of his glasses and fusses with all the new stuff.

Well, a whole lot more than a wrinkled brow with hands waving and lots of muttering.  Back to Edison:

Or something like that as it seems he MAY have said something like that, or some derivative of that, or it’s just folklore.  Anyways, I found a whole bunch of ways to NOT make it all work (and spent an addition $900 in trying….sorta).  Sigh…good thing most engineers have backup systems in place.

EPA Admin Scott Pruitt’s Resigns, Left Applauds: Wait, His Replacement is Worse

EPAWe liked Scott Pruitt. He was our kind of EPA Administrator. The kind that does more to get the bureaucracy out of the way of the states and the people and their rainwater runoff, ponds, and so on.

The left, inclined as they are toward Federal oversight of everything (because you can’t trust all the states to agree to your central planning regime) hated him.

So when their relentless efforts to purge him bore fruit, they were happy until they realized his successor, the Deputy Administrator, Andrew Wheeler is probably less of what they want than was Pruitt.
