Buying Foreign Oil Also Keeps US Dollars Away from People Who Disagree with Democrats

America has a lot of oil and gas. So much, in fact, that we don’t need to import it. But that’s what Democrats like. Foreign oil keeps more US dollars out of the hands of people who disagree with them politically.

Yeah, I’ve been leaving that dimension out of my commentary on the current debate, which is not a distraction (from comments).

Gas prices are a pressing issue. They are a huge economic issue that hits everyone, every day, everywhere.

And not just because of the prices. It is at the heart of the hubris of the elite.

We know they could care less about how they spend our money (or where or on who) but to argue that we can’t develop our natural resources (to save the planet) but that it is okay to buy them from foreign countries (that hate us) that are not just less environmentally conscious but who will add significantly to the so-called carbon footprint to get it here from there.

It is offensive on multiple levels and beyond tolerable as a matter of policy, priority, and price.

To be clear (as Vodka?), they can be a distraction if that’s all you’re looking at, but then so is Ukraine, COVID, Taiwan, the Kardashians, or wherever the media and the elites insist you direct your attention.

From 30,000 feet, they are all connected. The same stupid people are responsible for the “response,” and in most cases, they create the problem that then requires their response.

It has always been this way. This is why I’m a bit surprised to hear that New Hampshire Governor Chris Sununu signed on with 24 other “Republican” governors to ask Ten Dollar a Gallon Joe to focus on opening up US oil and gas development.

“By removing his bans on new oil and gas development on federal lands, building the Keystone XL pipeline, and reinstating regulatory reforms to streamline energy permitting, we can protect our national energy security and sell to our friends rather than buy from our enemies – specifically Russia.”

I appreciate the sentiment, and it needs to be said, but that’s not going to work. Oil and Gas are like guns. Democrats have to love guns. You can’t rule people down to the minutia without an armed police state (A federal militia) to enforce that will. You’ll need guns and thugs, so it’s about control (and I know you know that).

But all this crap about abandoning fossil fuels to green the earth is utter BS. Just look at Biden’s alternatives.

Wind and Solar are not Green. You can’t make them, ship them, or install them without gobs of fossil fuels from actual mining and manufacturing of materials, transporting and processing, to polymers and lubricants. And the materials and processes for these “alternatives” at many stages are dangerous to the environment, to flora or fauna, and are in some cases far worse than fossil fuels.

Most of them are made in China (Joe likes that), and there’s no way we can ever have enough of them to meet demand, current or future. Insisting they will spring from the ground like daisies if you cut off current energy supplies is not just stupid. It’s harmful and evil, and it will hurt the low-income and vulnerable hardest – the Democrat’s so-called people.

As for the oil and gas we do need, Biden and Democrats chose the most carbon-intensive path to obtain them. From far away countries that either don’t care about the environment or pretend to care but don’t do anything. Putting sanctions on US oil and gas is worse for the environment than what Dems are endorsing.

So, to review. Worse for people, worse for the planet, but it will keep more US dollars away from people who oppose Democrats and direct that money overseas.

So, these Republican governors are correct, including Sununu, which is a rare event  – at least recently. When I clicked on the link, I wholly expected his name to be absent.

He’s not exactly the man of the people, and the COVID test proved that.

Yes, we could have done a lot worse, but we should have done a lot better, and it is an election year, but we don’t have oil or gas in New Hampshire, though Democrats seem committed to making sure it can’t even get here.

And that will help Sununu for good or bad.
