Gov. Threatens to Withhold Funding to Counties That Ignore His COVID Orders

Remember when Arizona tried to enforce Federal Immigration laws the Feds were ignoring. The Obama administration sued the state? How about when President Trump told Democrat Governors he’d withhold federal money if they obstructed Federal Immigration Enforcement?

The left was livid at Arizona for daring to protect their citizens and livid at Trump for trying to get Democrat Governors and Mayors to protect theirs. The former had to defer to federal authority, and the latter refused.

Well! Governor Gavin Sanctuary State Newsom, who pissed and moaned about Trump trying to hold back funds when he refused to follow the law, is holding back funds from California cities, towns, and counties if they refuse to enforce his COVID19 restrictions.

Again.

“If you’re unwilling to adopt the protocols to support the mitigation and the reduction of the spread of this disease, we’re happy to redirect those dollars to counties that feel differently.”

He made the same threat back in late June, before the 4th of July holiday.

And while the Federal Government is responsible for securing international borders and enforcing Federal Immigration law, there’s no evidence Newsom has the Constitutional power to do any of the things he’s doing. Like threatening to withhold funding for refusing to uphold an Emergency Order.

But here he is, doing it anyway.

While continuing to live his life unrestricted and immune to his own dictates.

Typical Liberal.
