No, it’s not about “slut”; it’s just the next excuse for the Left to silence another Conservative voice that stands for Freedom and Liberty

Capital OneUpdate and Bumped:  Well, I just saw over at Michelle Malkin’s place that Capital One has pulled their ads.  Well, I have just “pulled (re: cancelled) my credit card with them.  And TMEW will be doing the same later on today.  My message to the polite young lady (who said she’s been getting MORE than a few calls similar to mine) is: “put the ads back, and I’ll come back.  Not until – pass that upward to the Chuckleheads upstairs”.)

————————————————–

Just as it isn’t about getting free contraceptives – it’s about standing up for the Constitution.  Slutgate is the excuse for the Left’s faux outrage to pummel a single person – but that is the distraction the Left wants you to believe.  It is not about civility – the Left has spewed far more vile at far more women on the Right over far more years.  Why?  To insult and to intimidate those on the Right, to force us to think that it is time for us to dejectedly leave the field of political / philosophical battle on our own.  And then they win and then they have a clear road to continue to dismantle the Rights given to us by our Creator.  To Progressives, ‘inalienable Rights” are simply an alien idea that has to be put down – for they have no God but Bigger Government.  Freedom is what they would have us believe we get from men – in the political scene, they wish to believe  they have the right to act as gods to determine how we shall run our lives.

And we see them, via Media Matters (funded by George Soros) and Van Jone’s Color of Change working behind the scenes, trying to achieve the real goal – seeing their political opportunity to silence Rush Limbaugh.  Thus far, they (the tip of the spear of the Left, to give them their due) have convinced 22 advertisers to leave Rush Limbaugh.  They have orchestrated a massive turnout of emails and calls to those companies to “leave Rush, or we leave you”: 400,00 have signed a petition to get Rush yanked.

Steve said it was time to stand a post(“I suggest you pick up a weapon, and stand a post.“); our Founders did far, far more.  Well, my friend, Warner Todd Huston (he who can be seen almost at every big site), has weapons for you to wield: he has compiled the contact list, your WEAPON, for you to do the same as what the Left has done:

Notable Quote – Mark Levin

In truth, man is naturally independent and self-reliant, which are attributes that contribute to his own well-being and survival, and the well-being and survival of a civil society. He is also a social being who is charitable and compassionate. . . . To condemn individualism as the utopians do is to condemn the very foundation … Read more

Question #2: Mark Vincent, Candidate, NHGOP Area 3 Vice Chair

I sat down with Mark Vincent, the Chairman of the Amherst Republican Town Committee, to talk about his candidacy for the position of NHGOP Area 3 Vice Chair.  Here is Question #2 “Were your expectations met going in as a new member of the Amherst Republican Town committee, and what did you learn?”   (If … Read more

How About Those Gas Prices?

“As you know, the government takes 40 percent of what you make. The other 60 percent, of course, taken by the gas stations.” — Jay Leno

Is this You?Been to a Gas Station Lately? Prices have spiked markedly in the last two weeks. For those of us driving Sport Utility Vehicles the effect is most pronounced. Just this week it cost nearly eighty dollars to fill my Ford Explorer’s fuel tank. It was nearly a year ago when President Obama quipped,

“If you’re complaining about the price of gas, and you’re only getting 8 miles to the gallon… you may wanna think about a trade-in”

Yes. I know..it’s an SUV….but show me a “clown car” with the performance benefits of an SUV. Fact is, there isn’t one. It appears that Obama believes middle America has the means to expend all the funds necessary to lower gasoline costs and improve efficiency. The President may well be right, but he overlooks the considerable cost one has to undertake to achieve that end.

Is A NH Public Employee Using The Internet to Sell his Political Agenda On Your Time?

What does  a New Hampshire Public employee who is also an SEIU chapter Vice President and shop steward do while working on the taxpayer dime?  If your name is Richard de Seve, (Dick de Seve, or DickNH, from Gilmanton, NH, VP of the Gilmanton Conservation Commission) you may be posting comments to the Concord Monitor online, throughout the work day, when you shouldn’t be.   At least that’s how it looks from here.

How could I suspect such a thing?  After encountering the amusing screen name DickNH at the Concord Monitor Online, I felt compelled to find out what kind online footprint someone with that handle generates.  What unfolded was a series of connections with a curious conclusion.  That a self proclaimed adjunct professor at UNH, with a law degree and former law practice, who is also an SEIU chapter Vice President and Union Steward,  employed as a Compliance Supervisor at the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services, might be using Newspaper Message Boards online to promote the Democrat/Union agenda when he should be doing the taxpayers business.

This has nothing to do with contraception everything to do with the governments role in mandating it.

Progressives only look across the scope of human history for propaganda.  They have no interest in the connection between yesterday, today, and certainly not tomorrow.  They are only concerned with the distance between what their spleen tells them today (grow government), and how to do that and still get through their next re-election.  Which is why, in responding to a comment to my post, Beggars CAN be Choosers, I made this point…(paraphrased)

If, during the arguments for Griswold v. Connecticut, you suggested that seeing a right to privacy in the constitution would just a few years later result in the legal practice of live birth abortion, people would have called you crazy.  And yet it happened.  Griswold begot Roe, Roe begot the abortion industry, which begot letting living breathing babies die at birth.  The right to privacy somehow resulted in legal murder.

I suggest you pick up a weapon, and stand a post.

Nice Deb, has a nice round up of links and commentary regarding the sham that is Sandra Fluke and the Democrats blatant redirect away from the wreckage of their leadership and Obama’s failed presidency.  (Nothing of ours unfortunately.)  And the lede is a suitable context to the other issue we’ve been covering around here at … Read more

Newt Gingrich:

THIS is yet another reason I voted for him, and hope he wins the GOP nomination.

Was Rush right? Is she a “SLUT”? Well, if you parse the word….

According to a handy dictionary, here are some of the definitions of the word: “1. A dirty or slovenly woman. 2. An immoral woman; a prostitute.”

Well…she doesn’t appear “dirty” or “slovenly.” And we have no idea whether she’s getting paid for all the sex she’s

Is this girl a slut? Who knows? Who cares?

having, so we can’t say for sure that she’s a prostitute at this point (at least not a sexual prostitute; prostituting oneself to government in order to get free handouts…well, that’s another discussion).

But wait! How about…”immoral.” Good word. One definition is “unscrupulous or unethical.”

Is it “scrupulous” or “ethical” to demand that government force religions and religious institutions to transgress their faith and beliefs? Is it “ethical” or “scrupulous” to demand that government force others pay for your birth control when doing that violates various religious tenets of those who are forced? I don’t think so. But wait!

I AM WOMYN, HEAR ME…………………beg

“Please, Daddy Government, may I have some more condoms and Pills?”

How debasing to have to ask Government for a handout to engage in the most intimate of sexual relations?  This gives lie to the idea that Progressives and Feminists want Big Government out of their bedrooms.  Nay, they are inviting them in!  After all, if Government cannot make those evil companies and churches give me a pregnancy and STD experience, well, I need to beg some more.

It used to be “hear me ROAR”, right?  Sandra Fluke and those supporting her, while thinking they are using their outside voices, are really whimpering: “please provide for my needs”.  Strong, independent, able to provide for themselves and the ability to compete equally against men?  Wasn’t that the original point of feminism – the Matriarchy rising above Patriarchal society?

But isn’t this just a whole charade with Sandra Flake?  You have this “reproductive justice” advocate, picking a religious Law school deliberately to be an agent provocateur to get free stuff KNOWING that it was against their theology – but perhaps this is not their ” moment in the sun”she and her fellow travelers think it is?  Maybe, is the “full circle” moment?  From Oppressed to Freedom to Oppression, for if you have to beg for stuff from Government for a roll in the hay, you are not free.  Dependency is never free – not even from the Progressive “Freedom from Want”, for as Communism /Socialism has shown us, The Bigger the Government, the smaller the citizen.  Given the backdrop of a $16 Trillion debt, it is clear that their selfishness to assuage their urges have addled any financial sense they have.  It is the ME generation on steriods – you MUST give to me, even as I prostrate myself to Government.

Good going, dudettes – you swapped one Master for another – happy now?  Or do you even realize it?

Reduced to begging.  Does that make the Feminists the “useful idiots” of Progressives who are ALL about central control, who do not trust citizens with their own freedom, and who must be dancing in the halls thinking “hey, we got another group dependent on us!”  Who are all about taking away our precious Liberty and go back to the Oppression that reigned over most before the Declaration of Independence, all in the name of Equality (like the French Revolution worked out well) ).

Slut:

Beggars CAN be Choosers

Sandra Fluke as Veruca Salt - I Wan't it Now!
I want Contraception Now Daddy!

Welcome to Veruca Salt Nation where beggars can be choosers.  Where  a 30 year old “law school student” aka-professional activist gets trolled before the fawning media by DC’s Democrat party leadership, (right on time!) to pretend she is a victim.  Her name is Sandra Fluke, the new face of the Democrat Parties Veruca Salt Nation.

“I want my taxpayer funded contraception now, daddy.”

And why not?  We are the 99.   Children up to age 26 are encouraged to seek a free ride, extended to age 30 (apparently) in Ms. Fluke’s case.  Just another step on the ladder to full dependency.  And while you are asking for things why not a constitutional right to Monistat–along with hot tubs, tropical getaways, and rooms for two–because if you are going to waste taxpayer funded contraception dollars the way the government wastes everything else, you should do it someplace nice–but the occasional yeast infection might be more than just a fluke.

Why President Obama “can’t” fix high gas prices

President Obama says he cannot do anything about high gasoline prices.  It seems to me that lowering gasoline prices should be a lot easier than President Obama’s claimed ability to “slow the rise of the oceans and heal the planet”. Democrats demanded that President Bush do something about high gasoline  prices by releasing oil from … Read more

If You Have An Erection Lasting Longer Than Four Hours…

Ed Morrissey, over at Hot Air, has a quote worth sharing.  On the matter of Reason TV’s Nanny of the Month–an Arizona Legislator wanted to add disclaimers to air-brushed images–he makes a point about disclaimers in general and how they have become fuel for our amusement. I already laugh at the pharmaceutical ads that go … Read more

Gilford Steamer a Government Watchdog? Nope – lapdog is more like it.

I have been absent for a couple of days here at the ‘Grok as I have been spending time with my “other ‘Grok”.  That would be GilfordGrok that covered only issues that affected my home town.  With Doug going into political retirement, it was all I could do to keep up with this site, so GilfordGrok, over the last couple of year,  turned into my abandoned red-headed step-child version of a blog-site (pretty much, all I did was post up video of the meetings of the Budget Committee).

Sidenote: every town needs a ‘Grok to do the work that the mainstream press can’t or won’t do.  And what we see happening in DC, what happened in Concord, happens everywhere including your town or city.  And with the passing of that conservative firebrand Andrew Breitbart, we ALL need to be Breitbarts!

Endorsement (for my Gilford readers)- Doug Lambert for Gilford School Board

I have submitted the following to the local papers:

First, the School Board decided to flaunt the will of Gilford voters, who voted 2-1 to not have a new Superintendent (hiring one the day before the election). Then, the Board decided to not hold the Special Meeting as petitioned by Gilford residents because of this action (and in violation of NH law). Then at the Gilford Candidates Night, the current Chair and past Chair (Kurt Webber and Sue Allen, respectively) insisted simply by saving $11,000 on busing costs was a superb reason to start up full day kindergarten – again, showing complete disdain for Gilford voters who had previously voted NO (video at GilfordGrok.com). Kurt Webber has further doubled down by stating he had cut the School Board’s budget (even though expenditures have grown) – and showing that the bureaucrat-ese of “Washington budgeting cuts” (where a “cut” = “increasing, but at a slower pace”) has been brought to Gilford.

This is not political…but it’s eerie as hell….

When Skip Murphy dragooned me to blog with GraniteGrok, I said “Okay, whatever…but what do you want me to write about?” He said “Whatever interests you.” Okay, that’s mostly politics, especially in New Hampshire…but every once in a while….

Something comes up. Like this. The picture on the left. The human heart. That is, something that may be on the verge of being obselete, and in the process the  human species may end the necessity of having…any heartbeat.

I know. Science fiction, right? But an article that just appeared in PopSci.com surely blew my mind. Here’s the deal….

In late 2003 Dr. Bud Frazier—a famous heart doctor at Texas Heart Institute implanted a newly approved…uh…”turbine pump” in the chest of a young man from Central America. It was designed to assist his diseased heart, not replace it. He was told to come back to the hospital for “frequent checkups,” but neither he nor his family was fully conversant in English, so “the young man walked out of the hospital and disappeared. When he finally showed up eight months later…
