Your Declining Slice of the Progressive Pie

apple-pie
The Goal should be to make the pie bigger!

Conservatives understand that for regular folks to have the opportunity to achieve they need to be free to do so.  As GrokTALK! guest Joe Mendola in segment two and three, Jennifer Lopez, Marc Cuban, Lady Ga Ga, Steve Jobs, Bill Gates, almost every great success story in modern America who has an influence on current popular culture started out as a 99 percenter.  They were just like you or I, but they had a dream or an idea, ambition, drive, and the personal and economic freedom to pursue it.

Democrats (Progressives, Liberals) insist that government must be free to deny personal and economic freedoms at will.

Separation of The Climate Church And State

Liberals want to spend  your money to create energy “solutions” that can never deliver enough power to meet our needs, whose manufacturing processes are extremely harmful to the environment, that do not produce very many jobs, cannot be sustained without taxpayer support (many of which fail despite it), many of whose raw materials come from hostile foreign nations, that have significant environmental impacts themselves, whose output will cost you significantly more from your pocket every day, which will create a constant drag on every other sector of the economy.

Conservatives want something that actually works.

This…Is a Test

I’m fooling around with an app that is supposed to auto post everything we put up here, to facebook.  So far so good.  I got all kinds of happy green check marks and arrows, but then the only true test is to post something (like this) and see if it shows up on Facebook, and … Read more

GrokTALK! The Gag Reel?

If Barack Obama Had a Son… (ee-eye, ee-eye, ohhh)

If Barack Obama had a son…he’d pin a Hispanic man to the ground and punch the crap out of him.  Right?  He’d be just like Trayvon Martin. That’s got to be good for “race relations.” And the politicians wanted to hang George Zimmerman out as race-bait despite the evidence complete with Black Panther hit squads.  … Read more

Hey Harrell! Where are the Apologies From These Democrats?

A room full of Goffstown, New Hampshire Democrats laughs openly when State Senate Candidate Lee Nyquist’s campaign manager says Democrats can ‘Beat Republicans with a bat…‘ Not only have all the people actually laughing in the video (below) not apologized publicly, but I’m quite certain that… “All New Hampshire Republicans should swiftly Democrats have not condemned Sanborn’s … Read more

Hey Harrell! Hands, Feet, Blunt Objects…Account for Four Times More Murders than “Scary Rifles”

Barack Obama with a baseball bat. Is he talking to Maggie Hassan?
Is President Obama Talking to Maggie Hassan?

As a follow up to this post, did you know, Harrell,  that when the now infamous (Democrat) Kevin ‘Wicked Cool’ Hodges said Democrat’s could Beat Republicans with a Bat, and with their hands and with their feet, that he had casually listed three methods (Blunt objects, and personal weapons–hands, fists, feet) that account for almost four times as many murders in the US annually as those “scary rifles” you Democrats are demanding an additional layer of background checks on?

How ironic.  The FBI crime database lists murders for scary rifles at 323 (2011) while murders for blunt objects and angry Democrat’s hands, fists, and feet in the same year tallied up to 1,222.  OK.  They might not have all been Democrats, but there was a room full of New Hampshire Democrats in Goffstown, including then candidate and now current Democrat Governor of the Granite State Marget ‘Good Wood’ Hassan who were very amused at the idea of engaging in a similar form of blunt force attack upon their political opponents.

If I’m not mistaken the State party dismissed objections as an overreaction by political opponents…

Bad News For Obamamobiles

ObamaMobileOne of the best things about ignoring all the hype and just using common sense is when you are proven right.  The only thing better than that is when the Kool-aid® drinkers start to realize that you were right as well.  What the heck am I talking about?  Electric cars.

For close to five years, as long as I’ve been blogging,  I’ve been saying that there is no way electric cars could be better for the environment–and not just because they’d have to run on electricity generated by carbon based fuels.  Batteries are nasty.

David Seastrand Investigation Continues

New london PDThe Manchester paper is reporting that the NH AG needs a few more weeks to complete their investigation of (now) former New London Police Chief David Seastrand,  Seastrand was alleged to have offered to drop charges against a Colby Saywer College student if she agreed to pose nude for him.   She refused and called the AG.  Smart girl.  But to what end?  As I observed back on April 4th…

Seastrand has 27 years in.  What are the odds this is the first time he’s used his position of power for his personal advantage or pleasure?  And now he gets to retire at what, maybe 50 years of age?  So the AG just lets him walk away, no in depth investigation, and very likely with his full pension.    Not exactly a punishment is it?  You get caught using your police powers to bully a woman and they make you quit without charging you and (assuming he’s keeping his pension) give you a big bag of money every year until you die.

Exit question:  Does anyone else come forward, Tiger Woods style, to start piling up accusations of improper conduct or does Seastrand retire in modest comfort and melt into the landscape?

We got the answer to both those questions.

Additional Background Checks for NH? Put Up or Shut Up!

I wanted to remind everyone that they need to ask every New Hampshire Democrat, in office or running for elected office, if they will be insisting on state legislation that adds another layer of background checks for legal gun purchases in the Granite State?  This should be a key element of their policy agendas.  And all those Democrat reps that were reading names in Concord next to the Bloomberg bus, they had better have their LSR’s ready for this fall and be proudly trumpeting their intention to recommend bills that will force another layer of background checks on the people of New Hampshire, on top of the ones we already have.

You heard the State Democrat Party and their media flunkies.  Over 90% of New Hampshire citizens “polled” want it.  90%.  It’s a free throw, a gimmie, a bird in the hand and two in the bush.

Mayors Against Illegal Guns Has Ties to Money Trail That Leads to Progress NOW

money-trail
Follow the Money…

The money trail used by gun-grabbers and anti-second amendment liberal/progressive Democrats to buy influence and peddle failed out of state policy through groups like Granite State Progress is becoming a bit more clear.

There has been a great deal of financial activity between a trio of deep pocketed Liberal anti-self defense groups.  Mayors Against Illegal Guns (MAIG), which is the Bloomberg (and Boston Mayor Menino) group that just shamed themselves in Concord, New Hampshire a few weeks back.  United Against Illegal Guns (UAIG) is a New York, NY based anti-gun money funnel.   And the third group is The Joyce Foundation, on whose board President Obama once served.  The Joyce Foundation is well funded by Liberal millionaires and billionaires and supports a manifold of left-wing policy ideas of which one is the disarming of Americans in any way possible.

You’ll be happy to know that this trail has tendrils that lead to groups working right here in New Hampshire.  Groups that helped coordinate the Bloomberg Bus ‘No More Names’ Tour visit.

Quick Thought – Oh Skip…What about the Bubbles?

I think Skip misses a key element of my brilliant and breathy prose (cough-cough) when he said this…about this. And that first snippet answers the dangling idea that I just left – that Steve thinks that Progressives think that everyone thinks like them.  Nein, mon amigo!  Skip knows me better than to think that.  So … Read more

Sturm und Drang over Sturm & Ruger

sturm and rugerThe top story on the New Hampshire Right this morning (hinted at here by Groksterette Susan Olson) is news that Gun Manufacturer Sturm, Ruger & Co., which has a large facility in the Granite State, will be expanding someplace other than New Hampshire.

Company President Michael O. Fifer told shareholders at their annual meeting in May that the $30 million expansion would not be in New England.

The company had a long list of factors, including a preference for a right-to-work state, where workers cannot be required to pay union dues if they choose not to join one. “Right-to-work state was one of our criteria,” Reed said.

The siren song has risen.  If only we had passed Right to Work.  We had the opportunity.  Over on Facebook NH House Rep Bill O’Brien, the NH House Speaker during our last best opportunity to pass it here, observes correctly that…
