Yahoo! news has surprised me almost every day this week by posting stories that present the Democrat signature health care reform (ObamaCare) is an unflattering light.  The most recent visits a point I’ve made as recently as this past week.  If no one knows what the law is or can even predict what it might be there is no law.  And this is not only an imperial presidency it is one Democrats are more than willing to ignore because it is their tyrant who ignores it.

No one can safely plan in this environment. Jay Carney’s declarations have a shelf life of hours, not weeks, but the more lasting damage inheres in the idea that the law can be dictated by the White House. The changes are not matters of implementation but structural elements going to the heart of the law. The administration feels free to issue such changes — though doing so violates (at the very least) the Administrative Procedure Act and arguably the Constitution — because President Barack Obama has successfully flouted the law since 2009.

Democrats have to lie to get what they want (with plenty of help from a compliant media) and ObamaCare is just one of the more glaring and recent examples.   With a hat tip to Scott Johnson at Powerline, we have a excerpt of a review of The Rise of American Democracy: Jefferson to Lincoln by Sean Wilentz.  The review is by Allen Guelzo, and in this excerpt he reminds us of an even greater deception.

What the Democratic Party has most liked to say about itself—that it is the party of the working man, the voice of the oppressed, the tribune of the people—loses some of its strut in the light of a rather long list of inconvenient facts, chiefly having to do with slavery and race. Such facts as these: that the Democrats were the party that championed chattel bondage, backed an expansionist war to expand slavery’s realm, and corrupted the Supreme Court in order to open the western territories to the cancer. The party’s Southern wing then led the nation into civil war in defense of slavery while its Northern wing did its best to stymie the administration of Abraham Lincoln, widely regarded by the Democrats as an accidental, even illegitimate, president.

There is a new Ad out directed at NH CD-2 Democrat Ann Kuster (below) and Harrell ‘Pajama Boy’ Kirstein and the NH State Democrat party are objecting to the timing of the ad.

They find it offensive to ask people to talk about how Democrats lied about their Health Care overhaul during the Holiday Season.   Pajama Boy Kirstein mopes about brotherhood and common ground, two words that have no actionable definition in the Democrat collectivist unconscious except as a bludgeon to intimidate Republicans into agreeing with them.  Common ground?   If Kirstein can name one instance where either Ann Kuster or Carol Shea-Porter reached across the aisle in bi-partisan support for something real Republicans actually want–ever–I’d be amazed.

Ken Klukowski at Bretibart shares some thoughts on the Utah Polygamy Ruling…

It is one thing to say that you do not think anyone should make moral judgments in public policy, though again no one really means that. It’s nothing short of Orwellian to say that it’s morally right and praiseworthy to redefine marriage to include everything, from homosexuality, to (in this case) one man with four wives and seventeen children, to ten adults in joint bisexual relationships with unclear lines of custody to the children they are creating and rights to the property they are acquiring. It is instead a recipe for social chaos and the abolition of any firm definition of the word “family” in American law and culture.

It is equally absurd to say that the Framers of the U.S. Constitution intended this chaos as a fundamental right, alongside the freedom of speech and the right to bear arms.

New Hampshire Democrats, at both the state and federal level, are looking for a distraction from the lump of coal that Obama-Care put in America’s stocking this holiday season.  The misdirection they have settled on is an increase in the minimum wage.

According to the Valley news local Democrats are looking to promote a state minimum wage set to 8.25 per hour in 2015 that would rise to 9.00 per hour the year after.  At the Federal level Ann ‘Where is Benghazi?’ Kuster and Carol SEIU-Porter (along with Jeanne “Screw the Veterans” Shaheen) are supporting a national minimum wage hike to $10.10 per hour.

So the liberal lackey’s at every level appear committed to screwing over the people they claim to be helping….again.

New Hampshire Pajama Boy, Harrell ‘Jersey Shore’ Kirstein, might want to ask Ray Buckley if he still wishes Hitler had bombed the Hague?  Sure, I’ll explain.

One of NH Democrat Party Chairman Ray Buckley’s most famous quote’s is “Hitler should have bombed the Hague.”  Harrel Kirstein, being the OFA spokesperson (OFA created Pajama Boy) and Democrat Chairman Ray Buckley’s press-bitch, it seems like, given this most recent bit of news…Buckley’s exhortation might have saved the professional left more difficult moments in a year full of them.

The Dutch have just announced a massive reform of their welfare system, designed to reduce dependency and put a new emphasis on work.

If ever there was a case for the benefit of ‘Rule of Law,’ where regardless of how constricting a law is at least everyone knows who and what it applies to and can predict how the law applies–the Progressive Pandora’s Box that is Obama-Care is it.

It also serves as proof that the conservative position wins again.  Slow and careful consideration is superior to the chaos deployed by desperate Democrats ramming through thousands of pages of something because they think they have the votes to pass it.

Now we have an executive branch re-writing laws with every vile wind that blows a stench across their polling data.   Rule of law is gone.   No one knows what to expect, whether they are complying or not, will get fined or not, jailed or not, and whether some arbitrary objection could alter their circumstances at the whim of their political opponents.

This mystery status includes the people, insurance companies, business owners, HHS, legislators, the super-bureaucracy erected to manage the paper being pushed into the burning pyre, essentially all of America, including the president himself. No one knows what is and is not the law.

Even the media cannot decide if calling it Obama-Care is praise or racism–which is dependent on the reading from the rectal thermometer of populist dudgeon, a measure being frantically filtered by progressive partisan pollsters clamoring for a demographic “rectum” that will favour their next public relations push.
