I started my working life, paper route aside, working at McDonald’s for $2.35/hour. Before I left, I was a store manager, training, and experience which lead to other such positions. Those lead to a testing gig in high-tech. QC and ISO positions (all self-trained), product management, technical writing, logistics, and other productive skills the free market needs.
But it all started when McDonald’s taught me the value of being valuable.
One of the many bills before the New Hampshire legislature this year loaded with (presumably) unintended consequences is HB1319 (Find archived articles here and here). This bill, sold as Act prohibiting discrimination based on gender is entirely unnecessary so the goal must be something other than its stated purpose because it will enshrine other (unpleasant) things that are not currently part of state law.
Banks took loads of public money in bailouts. Now they want to discriminate against individuals and legal businesses engaged in constitutionally protected activities, one of which we reported here.
[Citi Bank] will not permit their financial services (credit cards) to be accepted for the purchase of firearms by anyone under the age of twenty-one. I assume this includes public safety, members of the military, private security, young moms in rural areas, and women in high-crime Democrat-run rape and robbery zones.
The NRA says, report them to Liz Warren’s Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
The New Hampshire House today overwhelmingly rejected CACR22, even after millions of dollars and 12 lobbyists worked the legislature and the state for months to push the constitutional amendment.
284-51 is quite a beating.
Governor Sununu, who is reportedly a big fan, is said to have also been lobbying for the measure.
Someone might want to see who in the Sununu clan or connected to them has an interest in Broadcom or its CEO Henry T. Nicholas III, who has spent nearly 30 million dollars pushing this agenda in states across the country.
Because even though they say they’ll be back, taking a beating like that is gonna leave a mark. Somewhere.

The Daily Wire headline says it all. A student dug into the weeds, did the legwork and presented evidence that the district had a lot of money for school safety but spent little, while also favoring plans and policies that actually put student lives at risk.
[Kenneth] Preston confronted the school board two weeks ago and gave his account of what he’d learned to The Hill. In his initial findings, Preston said that he believed that since 2014, the school has only spent around 5% of the over $100 million available to it specifically for school safety. In his new report, he details ways that the failure to invest in school safety may have led to the deaths of some of the students in the Marjory Stoneman Douglas shooting.

It’s a bad bill, with bad mechanics, built to fail, and its only redeeming quality (and by that I mean if you happen to be a socialist Democrat tax and spender hell-bent on ruining the New Hampshire Advantage) is that it creates a pricey payroll taxing authority inside the Department of Employment Security.
The NRA does not represent all gun owners. In fact, it can’t lay claim to more than a fraction of them. But it makes an excellent Alinsky-esqe target the left can try to isolate. Having said that, the effort continues apace. Which means MoveOn is fundraising off it and some has-been actress named Alyssa Milano is happy to help.

Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) will announce a plan for the federal government to guarantee a job paying $15 an hour and health-care benefits to every American worker “who wants or needs one,” embracing the kind of large-scale government works project that Democrats have shied away from in recent decades.
A rep. for Sanders was quick to point out that they have not yet figured out how to fund it ow what it would cost.
The New Hampshire legislature passed legislation last week prohibiting Female Genital Mutilation of a minor in the Granite State. Governor Sununu is expected to sign it. Maine’s majority Democrat House decided not to support similar legislation.
This week, Maine House Democrats sent a clear message that female genital mutilation (FGM) performed on young girls should not be a crime in their state. So much for child abuse prevention.
Will FGM advocates in New Hampshire be taking day trips to The Pine Tree State? Not legally.

As the New Hampshire Senate prepares to vote (down) HB628 the effort to hide the purposeful expansion of government under cover of a lousy Family Medical Leave Insurance “plan” goes unreported.
WMUR had an opportunity here but “opted out” which, by the way, is a lot easier when it comes to reporting on HB628 than it is if you try to avoid the tax on your payroll.
Marsy’s Law changes the definition of a victim to include potentially so many other individuals that it effectively erases any right to privacy the actual victim might have.
Marsy’s Law effectually diminishes a victim’s privacy. Currently, a victim is the actual victim with some exceptions. This amendment proposes to expand that definition to include any person who is “directly or proximately harmed” by offense or act. This expanded definition includes giving rights to family, friends, and non-human entities such as corporations and businesses.
Very wealthy people from California are working hard and spending big money ($27 million+) to pass an amendment to our NH Constitution. This is known as Marsy’s Law. When our aging site first suffered the ill effects of a link hijacker we did a restore that required backing up a week’s worth of published posts. When it was over I discovered that through no fault but my own (for failing to confirm the exact restore date) we lost days worth of content.
March 26th was erased.
Well, I found them.
Democrats like to talk about “keeping money out of politics.” Well, meet Henry T. Nicholas III, a wealthy Corporate baron. One of those ‘Big’ corporation guys the left ‘hates’ so much. He’s also the brother of Marsalee, the woman for whom Marsy’s Law is named, and the money behind the push to amend the NH Constitution under the cover of “victims rights” reform.
Henry T. x3 has spent several million in New Hampshire already to advance his pet project to the detriment of victims, the constitutional protections of the accused, but that’s peanuts compared to the $29.49 million he has spent on political initiatives over the past nine years.
Since late 2017, leading up to today, we’ve written or shared at least twenty-three articles opposing HB628, the so-called Family Medical Leave Act. This makes (at least) twenty-four. Why so many? Until very recently neither the governor nor Republican Majority leadership had made a noise that wasn’t fawning.
And while a recent joint committee vote to ITL the bill has people singing praises, until the floor vote adds a final stake (at least for this session) I’m not convinced it’s dead with good reason.
I think it’s kind of cute that the NH Democrats continue to pretend this had anything to do with offering Family Medical Leave Insurance (FMLI) to New Hampshire Families. Or that Governor Sununu would accept “FMLI” in any form the legislature coughed up.
Here governor, sign this thing that happens to have family medical leave insurance in the name or else we’ll call you names and blame the Koch Brothers.
He didn’t so that’s what they did.
I wonder where this handy bit of information was when the Marxist Women’s March folks were pouring outside money into their national campaign to waste taxpayer dollars. It says that School Walk Outs are NOT protected by the first amendment.
The first priority after surviving a cardiac event is to prevent another one. The cardiac cocktail is a manifold of meds designed to decrease stress on the heart. It’s a muscle, albeit the most important one in your body, but like any other muscle, it needs room to heal. The cardiac cocktail is designed for each patient to optimize both desired outcomes.
Blood thinners, Blood Pressure (BP) meds (lower it), Asprin (another blood thinner), and in my case something to keep the foreign objects (stents) where they belong and something to lower the cholesterol levels in my blood.
That is not a lot of chemistry, but it’s a good bit so what could go wrong?
