More Fatal Crashes on 4-20 after 4:20PM Study Shows

big cannabis marijuana plant detail

I could write about the Union-paid-for anti-gun rally at the NH statehouse today, or how they are protesting alongside the 420 pot rally folks who will also be there, but I decided to post this instead.

Researchers sought to learn whether there was any added risk of driving on April 20 – a recognized day of celebration in the United States among pot enthusiasts – when marijuana use is trumpeted and encouraged and legal sales are noticeably higher. And after examining 25 years of traffic crash data, what they found was a 12 percent increased risk of a fatal car crash taking place that day after 4:20 pm, the unofficial kickoff time of the drug’s holiday.

Abortion is Not about ‘Choice’

The argument goes something like this. Women don’t have to have an abortion. They can choose what’s best for them. Their body, their choice. This is a rare indulgence in a progressive realm whose agenda revolves around the State (meaning Democrats and the ruling class) deciding what you can and can’t do with your body. … Read more

Problem: Criminal Justice System Ignoring the Law – Solution: Amend a Constitution They Also Ignore

NH Assoc of Chiefs of PoliceI don’t believe the New Hampshire AG ever investigated claims by NH Police Chief Andrew Shagoury when, in his opposition to concealed carry, he suggested to a State House Committee that minors might have been issued pistol revolver licenses. That would be in violation of state law, as would his knowing it and not demanding an investigation himself.

Let me amend that. I know the AG didn’t because the gun-ban left would have short-stroked that for months to justify letting the government (the same elite club that may have broken the law to give concealed carry permits to minors) use the law to keep you from getting one.

That’s how government works if you happen to be new to this. And it’s why we hope the Committee vote to ITL Marsey’s Law sticks. But back to the Chief.

New Hampshire Democrats Demand More Money For A Problem They Don’t Want to Solve

NH Congressional DelegationNew Hampshire is getting another $3.1 Million to combat the opioid crisis. US News is reporting that New Hampshire’s All Gurl Delegation, Democrat x four, says it is not enough.

New Hampshire’s delegation had urged President Donald Trump’s administration to revise the formula used to allocate funding so it prioritizes states like New Hampshire that are hardest hit by the crisis. But that didn’t happen.

This coming from a gaggle of progressive geese with no real interest in solving “the problem.”

Syriaously?

syria-bombingRemember when Obama assured us that Russia had promised that Syria’s chemical weapons were no more? They weren’t. Assad used them on his own people. Collusion! (That’s a Russsssia Joke, get it?)

But Syriaously, folks. Chemical weapons in Syria were this big deal. Chemical Weapons everywhere are a big deal but mostly in places where leaders-for-life and their strong-men like to dispose of them on the locals as a lesson. The Bamster told us about this Red Line thing (don’t you dare use chemical weapons), which Assad repeatedly crossed without consequence.

Well, not entirely.

Republicans Against Free Speech

NHGOP Woodshed
Taking them out to the Woodshed again…

Carolyn McKinney’s rebuttal to “some Republicans” pushing to remove the word ‘traditional’ as a qualifier to the word ‘marriage’ in the New Hampshire Republican State Platform is brilliant. It’s so good those Republicans don’t want you to read it. (If you have problems with the above link the piece is also cross-posted here.)

Somone or perhaps a few someones are flagging every effort to post this on Facebook as in violation of Facebook’s rules making it difficult to share.

Sununu: Can’t Support HB628 (Family Medical Leave Bill) “As Written” – But I Want More

HB628 killing the NH AdvantageGovernor Chris Sununu has informed the State Senate Finance Committee looking at HB628 that as written he won’t support it.

“I cannot support HB 628 until a comprehensive actuarial analysis is conducted,” …

That’s not a rejection of the idea of a state mandate but niggling over details. A point he affirms later in the same reporting.

Democrats: Are You Paying Your Campaign Workers a ‘Living Wage?’

minimum_wage_fight_for_15Torn from the headlines at HotAir.com, a question of epic and historical weight. Why won’t Democrats let their campaign workers unionize?

When workers on one self-proclaimed progressive’s congressional campaign decided to unionize, they ran into “classic union busting” tactics, according [to] a former staffer, who asked that he and the campaign remain anonymous for fear of jeopardizing future job prospects.

Ed Morrissey adds,

Senator Shaheen’s Selective Defense Of Small Business Owners

The Internet http://

New Hampshire’s Congressional delegation is unified in its defense of the Granite State from efforts to make online purchases taxable. Their primary objection, and I’ll use Senator Shaheen as my whipping donkey for this, is the burden it puts on small business owners.

As a former small business owner, I know that most small businesses operate on small profit margins and struggle to keep overhead low. That’s especially true for small online retailers. It is unacceptable to impose major new administrative costs on small businesses while making it harder to compete with big-box retailers.

Antifa’s War On Some Women

Antifa- we will tread
Antifa – Going after women that disagree with them.

When the left tells you that women are a protected class, they are lying. Women who march in lockstep with the left’s narrow agenda are protected as long as they keep up. This is true for blacks, gays, trans, cis, Metrosexual-pajama-boys, bearded-Marxists, or any designer state of being manufactured by the liberal ministry of identity and progress.

You are not ‘protected’ based on who you want to have sex with or the color your skin. You are only special if you advocate one set of ideas which they define. It’s their Dogma or the dog house. Failure to comport excommunicates you to slave-class status. You become less than human, no longer entitled to your own words, thoughts, or even the rights they define and dispense.

They’ve even got stormtroopers to make sure everyone knows this and women don’t get a pass just because they are women.

If You Like Great Food and Frank Sinatra…

Michael Dutra - Sinatra ImpersonatorA few months ago we planned an evening out. Frank Sinatra Night at Tuscan Kitchen in Salem. Get dressed up. Dine on some excellent Italian food (4 courses) and listen to a Frank Sinatra impersonator.

What could go wrong?

As you’ll likely know by now, I had a heart attack Monday. I came home Thursday. But sitting and listening is well within my very limited post-cardiac-event wheelhouse (and the Tuscan Kitchen in Salem has an elevator so no long staircases) so we went.

It. Was. Awesome.

New Hampshire Democrats Oppose ‘Common Sense’ Gun Legislation.

???
???

The New Hampshire House voted 184-146 to advance Senate Bill 500, housekeeping legislation meant to clean up the language in firearms statutes in the GraniteState.

Unlike the State Senate where approval was unanimous SB500 did not garner overwhelming bipartisan support in the NH House. In fact, it received very little support from House Democrats with 139 of the 146 no votes coming from the left.

Judge Rules Illegals Can Sue Employers For Refusing To Hire Them

This is interesting. For the second time in a few years, a federal court has ruled that illegal immigrants can sue American employers that refuse to hire them because they require workers to be U.S. citizens or legal residents (green card holders). The latest blow to the rule of law was delivered by an Obama-appointed … Read more

Notable Quote: Why Should Freedom of Speech…Be Allowed.

Who does this sound like? “Why should freedom of speech and freedom of the press be allowed? Why should a government which is doing what it believes is right allow itself to be criticized? It would not allow opposition by lethal weapons. Ideas are much more fatal things than guns.” – V.I. Lenin And when the … Read more

California’s Poison Your Friends and Family Plan

Given all I’ve written about MS-13, opioids, and sanctuary cities and states lately, this cartoon boils the California problem down to a national defense issue. We can’t secure the border, address the opioid crisis, or any of the gang violence it perpetuates as long as California is a conduit for drugs, gang members, and the cartels that … Read more
