Republican Legisalture Gives NH Gov. Another Opportunity to Redistribute Wealth
The NH House and Senate have delivered three ‘energy bills’ to Governor Sununu that favor so-called green generation that drives up electric rates. One (SB446) expands net metering which means more pricey power from a wider range of sources. The second (SB365) prop up wood-burning plants. The third (SB577) subsidizes the Berlin Bio-Mass plant. All three divert money via higher rates to other people’s pockets.
At least one of them claims to save jobs, but as armchair economists know this doesn’t happen in a vacuum. The state through legislative force is taking money from the marketplace (job creators, consumers, and even municipalities) to prop up their mandates. Money that would otherwise find more productive uses.

Trump Tackles Title X – Federal Dollars Illegally Funding Abortions
As written and passed into law Title X specifically prohibits “taxpayer support for abortion as a method of family planning.”

None of the funds appropriated under this title shall be used in programs where abortion is a method of family planning.
But clinics like those run by Planned Parenthood, that use the words “family planning” as cover for pushing their abortion services get millions from Title X annually depite the prohibition.
Mr. Trump has begun the process of correcting that illegal activity.
U.S. Department of Education investigates Yale for Discriminating Against Men
According to a letter dated April 26, the department’s Office for Civil Rights (OCR) is investigating seven Yale initiatives, including the Yale Women Faculty Forum, the Working Women’s Network, the Yale University Women’s Organization, and the Yale Women’s Campaign School.
These initiatives allegedly provide, to varying degrees, scholarships, professional development, academic opportunities, and summer programs exclusively to female students and professors, the complaint alleges.
The Equity movement has nothing to do with equality and inclusion because the terms contradict each other.

Seattle Passes ‘Head-Count’ Tax On Job Creators
Back in March Skip reported on a discussion underway in the city that never stops taxing, Seattle. The city council debate over a new tax based on how many people a company employs. At the time the issue was not so much if but how. The “how” has been decided and their latest act of plunder approved.
The result is the so-called head tax on Seattle businesses that gross at least $20 million annually. According to The Seattle Times, 585 businesses in the city will be subject to the tax. Not surprisingly, the tech giant Amazon is expected to pay the most under the tax. The initial proposal was for a $500 tax per employee, which, in Amazon’s case, would have meant an added $20 million in labor costs. Thanks to a veto threat from the mayor, the council reduced its tax grab to $275 per employee.

Near Anniversary of Evergreen Riots School Announces Massive Budget Cuts
About a year ago Evergreen State College Students got pissed off when w white professor refused to get off campus on No White People Day. What followed was months of blogging material, a national audience witnessing the violent intolerance of the “Inclusive” Excellence, equity, and social justice cabal, and (predictably) plummeting enrollment at the school.
According to a report released by an “Independent External Review Panel” in April, the college is expecting a decline in applications for the Fall 2018 semester of up to 20 percent, compounding the 4.5 percent decrease in Fall 2017, compared to Fall 2016.

Kilauea Alert Level Red – Major Eruption Imminent
As of early this morning, eruption of ash from the Overlook vent within Halemaumau crater at Kilauea Volcano’s summit has generally increased in intensity. Ash has been rising nearly continuously from the vent and drifting downwind to the southwest. Ashfall and vog (volcanic air pollution) has been reported in Pahala, about 18 miles downwind. NWS radar and pilot reports indicate the top of the ash cloud is as high as 10,000 to 12,000 feet above sea level, but this may be expected to vary depending on the vigor of activity and wind conditions.

The Washington Times reports that the very liberal Boulder, Colorado City Council just passed an assault weapons ban within the city limits.
DENVER — The Boulder City Council voted Tuesday to ban “assault weapons” in the aftermath of the Parkland mass shooting, despite vows from gun-rights advocates to challenge the ordinance in court.
The council agreed unanimously to prohibit the sale and possession within city limits of certain semi-automatic firearms, as well as bump stocks and ammunition magazines capable of holding more than 10 rounds.
In the aftermath of Parkland. And I just (JUST) got done pointing out again that the evidence continues to prove that the problems in Parkland were the result of public employees and progressive policies. Who wants to bet the same is true in Boulder?
