The Coalition for Open Democracy was founded by New Hampshire’s Granny (D) Haddock to fight big money in politics. All based on the idea that wealthy special interests are warping the process.
Granny D left our world in 2010 and since then, or more specifically in 2014, 2015, and 2016 Open Democracy racked in a total of 750,000.00 dollars in donations.

This week the New Hampshire Fiscal Policy Institute (NHFPI) issued some analysis on the “abnormal rise” in New Hampshire Business tax revenue. Their conclusion? It is likely due to Federal Tax Reform.
As of the end of April, the BPT and BET together are about $90.8 million (16.9 percent) above plan for the year, and $107.0 million (20.6 percent) above April 2017. Although these two business taxes have been the primary source of the surplus during the year, the post-TCJA rise has dwarfed other revenue sources, even those that are major contributors.
Foxnews.com reports that Tim Allen’s hugely popular ABC show has been picked up by Fox for Season seven.
Gary Newman and Dana Walden, chairmen and CEOs of Fox Television Group, said the decision to bring back the series was a no-brainer.
“’Last Man Standing’ ended too soon and the outcry from the fans has been deafening,” they shared. “We’ve wanted to put the show back together since its final taping a year ago, and Tim never gave up hope either. Thanks to its millions of devoted viewers and the irrepressible Tim Allen, we haven’t seen the last of ‘Last Man Standing.’”

Hawaii’s Kilauea volcano has been busier than usual in the month of May.
As of this post, 27 homes have been destroyed, 1,900 residents have been evacuated and thousands more are poised to do so, Hawaii National Volcanoes Park is closed, and crews are scrambling to remove tens of thousands of gallons of highly flammable chemicals from a geothermal power plant out of the path of the lava flows.
In 2016 Mr. Sununu barely survived a primary win against Frank Edelblut. Gov. Sununu offered a job as the state commissioner of Education to Frank, and he may be the best one we’ve had in decades. So we can give Chris credit for listening when someone tells him what might be a smart move for him politically.
That’s important because Frank doesn’t strike me as the sort of guy who would undercut his “boss” in that circumstance so I don’t see him accepting any offer or encouragement to primary Governor Sununu in 2018. But if Chris Sununu signs HB1319, Frank would win easily.
There’s a message in that reality. Here’s another one.
Fear of political retribution for supporting one of the most unliked Democrats in modern history has prompted all nine of the primary contestants in the Democrats to Replace Shea-Porter CD-1 fashion who to shun the political stylings of party Leader Nancy Pelosi.
Michael Graham, writing at Inside Sources, observes that, while they appear to cover the spectrum of options for Democrat primary voters, “they all have one thing in common: None of them say they’ll vote to make Nancy Pelosi House Speaker.”
Where are the Republican Professors at UNH? If it’s like most campuses they are in hiding. College campuses are hostile hate mongering intimidation mills for thought outside the approved narratives. And UNH is just getting worse. But it’s easy to see why.
When I read this study, I wanted to see where the University of New Hampshire, the largest university in our state, fell in this bias. The results were even worse than the study: with nearly 2,000 donations this cycle alone, ZERO were to any Republican-affiliated candidates or organizations.
CNBC is reporting that jobless claims have hit a 48-year low (which for the math challenged includes the years when Obama was President).
Initial claims for state unemployment benefits were unchanged at a seasonally adjusted 211,000 for the week ended May 5, the Labor Department said on Thursday. Claims dropped to 209,000 during the week ended April 21, which was the lowest level since December 1969.
There are more jobs than skilled labor, by many estimates. Hey, maybe some of those able-bodied folks on Medicaid Expansion will look for work before January 2019 when the NH Waiver makes it mandatory?
Did you miss the published post for April’s heavy hitters? No. There wasn’t one and this feature may have to wait for its “official” return until the new site goes up. Why?
We had a number of issues in April that made an accurate calculation impossible. First, we had to do a site restore that erased a week’s worth of hit counts. I tried to keep track, I did. Then I had a heart attack. Then we had another issue with a link hijacker and I unplugged a handful of site plugins to address potential security issues, one of which was the post hit counter.

The guy who secretly colluded with anti-fossil-fuel activists to silence global warming skeptics and oil companies has another secret. Democrat New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman has been accused of abusing women.
The government-will-protect-you-narratives of the gun-ban left took a few more hits this week. Broward County School Officials finally admitted (discovered?) that Parkland Shooter Nikolas Cruz was referred to the Obama-Era program that prevents arrests for behavior that would have prevented Cruz from buying the gun he used in the shooting spree.
But we already knew that, didn’t we?
Any chance David Hogg will drop his old new friends on the gun-ban left and shift his focus to the real accomplices in that mass murder? Elected Democrats, Barack Obama, and Obama’s Office of Civil Rights (OCR)?
Mr. Trump won the presidency on an issue no one else in the ruling class took seriously. Immigration, border control, and the very definition of what it meant to be American. For years the cultural elites in Washington and across the nation have shared a growing disinterest in the idea of citizenship. Their reactions have run the gamut from patronizing to insults. Republicans pander to narratives while Democrats call them xenophobes, racists, and even white supremacists. Policies and priorities that resulted in the opioid crisis, and a range of national security issues.
Trump won because citizenship means something, and securing that something matters. And when we look at New Hampshire, we have a similar problem just waiting for someone to capitalize on it. “Border control” for voting purposes.

In late April the NH Senate pulled a four million dollar rail study line-item out of the State’s ten-year transportation budget. The Senate passed the amended version, denying the choo-choo fetishists yet another expensive act of engineering voyeurism.
The advocates for waste, fraud, and abuse were not happy.
At least five counties recently passed resolutions declaring themselves sanctuary counties for gun owners — a reference to so-called sanctuary cities such as Chicago that don’t cooperate with aspects of federal immigration enforcement.
And, naturally, the Democrats don’t much care for it.
