Why, Skip, is GraniteGrok (especially you) spending so much time on education lately? Is there nothing better to be talking about? The short answer, the plain answer, is no. It IS one of our culture’s “High Ramparts” that the Left decided to target and they were willing to spend decades in influencing, capturing, taking over, … Read more
And yes, I put NH Commissioner of Education Frank Edelblut into a prickly position on this but hey, GraniteGrok is NH’s leading and most influential political blogsite – of COURSE this was going to come up. Andru Volinsky – no interview about education should take place without a mention that Andru Alinsky Volinsky was responsible … Read more
The next “micro-topic” that Frenk Edelblut and I discussed is one of my most favorite parts of the NH Constitution: Article 28-A in combination with the incorrect idea that education in NH is all about local control by one’s School Board. Thus, we talk about unfunded mandates, the “Statification” of local control and the “Federalization” … Read more

Is Education meant to educate a Citizen of our State and Republic? Or is the major thrust of Education simply to prepare someone to enter the workforce in some capacity? It is a question, as NH is wrestling with Town Meetings and First/Second Deliberative Sessions (the latter if you are in an SB2 style town), … Read more
With Part 2, I broach the subject that comes up here and again at GraniteGrok: “Curriculum and political bias in the classroom”. Given that in Part 1 we discussed the appeal process, I was curious as to how often this happens here in NH: It does happen – the teacher in Gilford showing her class … Read more
This afternoon I sat down with Frank Edelblut, the current NH Commissioner of Education, for an hour long interview. Having video’d him several times in the past along with his announcement of the NH Dept of Ed’s Learning Everywhere, I thought it was time to sit down and have a conversation about the state of … Read more
While NHSBA Exec. Dir. Christina made jaws drop with his pronouncement, this next guy, Harold Rosen’s words were just too good to leave for later. Everyone was talking his words but NOT for the same reason as Christina’s. If he is to be believed, it is the Lottery that’s behind all of this! Yeah, eyebrows … Read more
As I said earlier, GraniteGrok and our cameras were in Concord (NH) at the State Legislative Office Building to cover two sets of hearings having to do with bills being heard that would impact gun rights. Two have been given to the NH House Education Committee: HB101 having to do “This bill allows a school … Read more
Before all of the testimony on the Democrat Second Amendment infringing bills started, I caught up with the Womens’ Defense League honchos (and Groksters!) Kimberly Morin and Susan Olsen who graciously agreed to spend a few minutes with GraniteGrok. Here, Susan Olsen shares her thoughts with me what these bills would do to the Live … Read more
Before all of the testimony on the Democrat Second Amendment infringing bills started, I caught up with the Womens’ Defense League honchos (and Groksters!) Kimberly Morin and Susan Olsen who graciously agreed to spend a few minutes with GraniteGrok. Here, Kimberly Morin shares her thoughts with me AND sends a message to Gov. Chris Sununu … Read more
I have not been posting a lot lately and I HAVE to start making the changes to get out of my rut. However, along with Groksters Kimberly (her reporting here), Tom, and Susan, I was at the Statehouse all day to cover the hearings for Democrat / civilian disarmament bills: 2 in Education that would … Read more
So much for self-responsibility. And several new caravans have been launched – one purportedly over 10,000. Is this really how our immigration policy is supposed to work? Why are Democrats so absolutely willing to Cloward-Piven their own country other than to see it crash and burn and thinking “and THEN we will finally be the … Read more
Post-birth abortion. Abortion right up to the moment of birth. Both show the utter disdain of the unborn by the Left and the utter lengths they will go to in “Othering” new lives and refusing to look at babies, now both born and unborn, as sub-human. After all, if they aren’t human, then there’s no … Read more
With Kavanaugh The Washington Post ran with the uncorroborated crap. And now they are trying to take “the high road?” Trying to appear to be “objective” (with Dem. Justin Fairfax). They had no such “objectivity” for Kavanaugh who was perceived by the Left to be an existential threat to their control of the Judiciary (better … Read more
This past week was the Deliberative Sessions for both the Town and School Districts. The townfolk review the budgets presented by the Budget Committee and all of the warrants (spending issues submitted either by the Selectmen or the School Board, plus any citizen-sponsored “petition warrants” for kind of purpose. Three petition warrants, one for the … Read more
After both Ian Underwood and NH Commissioner of Education Frank Edelblut were finished with their talks on “Preparing for the Future of Schooling, there was a good half hour time by the audience in asking both questions about their topics and what they are seeing back in their own districts.
