Ever since New Hampshire Senator Jeanne Shaheen predicted that Global Warming (they still called it that back then) would be the demise of New Hampshire’s tourism industry it has done exactly the opposite. As a visiting midwest (ish) tourist, before moving to New Hampshire in 1990, I took the occasional trip to Hampton Beach. Good times. What I didn’t know then was that a few years later in 1995, 2500 experts got together and decided they could make a comfortable living if they said things like in 25 years, “most of the beaches on the East Coast would be gone.”
